Greek Beef Stifado - A Classic Greek dish!

Beef Stifado...a Greek classic!
Ingredients
500 g stewing beef - cut into medium sized chunks
800 g pearl onions or little shallots - peeled
5 tbsp Greek olive oil
1/2 cup red wine
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato puree
1 cinnamon stick
2 bay leaves
half a teaspoon all spice - or 4/5 all spice berries
half a teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper
