LOVE "I Can't Dance ". It's definitely a dance tune (for me especially at the time)
Video is among my favorites 😁
There's a great video interview with Jim Yukich who speaks of how this and many of the Phil & Genesis vids were created on the #getphilvotedin channel.
My favorite part is the "walk" Phil taught the guys while wearing the Ray-Bans 😎 AND the ending when Phil does his Michael Jackson dance and then Mike & Tony drag him away 😆

This song started it all for me. I was 10 years old when my teacher played it in class, and I thought it was so cool. Before that, I didn't really listen to music. This was the first Genesis song I ever heard, and it led me to explore their entire discography. Now, I love pretty much all music genres, but this song holds a special place in my memories.

This song wasn't horrible, different style from what we heard in the prior album for sure. It's a fun lighthearted song that still made a mark in the charts and a contributor to the overall success of the album. No Son is probably my favorite off this album. You raise a good question of this album; legacy of leaving this as the last Collins era album... makes me wonder if they had intentions to end here unbeknownst to fans or if this was a test of re entry after being away for so many years. If you look at the range in styles and moods of the album it almost appears like it was a culmination of some final efforts from all three with some obvious Collins songs.

I remember when this album came out. My bestie and I listened to it from start to finish. I said that this song would be the biggest hit off the record. My bestie hated it.

I have to say, that I really love this song. It's actually one of my favorites, maybe in my top ten Genesis songs. But for me it's nostalgic and everytime I have a party with my friends, we play this song and do the silly walk.

The secton on the wiki you read off was originally added by myself, although it's now been heavily edited with other unsourced annetodes, the main source I got the quotes from is from the original release of the The Way We Walk DVD which has some interviews as extras where Phil, Tony and Mike talk about the song.

My opinion on this song changes most days to be fair, I don’t know why!! However out of all the silly Genesis songs, “Harold the Barrel”, “Robbery, Assault and Battery” and “Who Dunnit?” Are my favourites and I wouldn’t really class “Anything She Does” as a silly song just because I think the song is just really poppy. 😂👍

I believe it is a pop novel song in contrast to the songs with heavier subjects: No Son of Mine, Never A Mind, and Since I Lost You for Connor Clapton.

Hey Scott, it is not my favorite song on the album but I have to give it the credit it deserves. You can’t have ABACAB without Who Dunnit? Same with this we can’t dance without I can’t dance. Or the other songs you mentioned. It’s all part of the Legacy of Genesis. Enough said.

I don't hate the song so much as the imagery from the video, and how it came to define the band. After that, whenever there was a mention of Genesis on TV, we immediately see them walking awkwardly in a line. The cover of 'The Way We Walk' didn't help. They did it to themselves, I guess.

I thought it was catchy when it first came out, but I always find it a cringe-worthy moment when they played it live.

No way. I thought it was just a blues number. In 91 dance music like house was still underground or a sub culture although there was some pop variety, it was coming around.

I like the song by itself, I enjoy the music video. But I agree it doesn't fit well on the album. And I agree it leaves a weird mark at the end of their career. And I especially don't like the 7 minute monster it became in the encore of the live shows.
