And, remember that black clothing, even in lightweight fabrics, feels HOT in the sunshine. I am always surprised by how many women I see wearing black pants in summer. I wear a lot of white, beige, and pastels in cotton and linen. Love them! Great video Marie - Anne

It’s 100* here on my farm in southern Idaho. The weeds love it! I’m still wearing skirts as I weed the garden. My favorite way to cool off?
Run cold water in my farmhouse sink and dunk my head in! No make up... the chickens don’t care! And yes to a large brimmed hat!

I live in Winnipeg, Canada, right in the middle of the country on the prairies. We have severely cold winters and hot humid summers. All of your hot weather suggestions are great, Marie-Anne.
I would add 'wear white' and always bring a water bottle and sunscreen in the car.

I re-discovered some authentic vintage clothing in my wardrobe, which I used to wear in the '80 and '90. They are very comfortable and original. It's a pleasure to wear them and to feel unique 😊

@@MarieAnneLecoeur these garments are a pleasure to wear, because of the quality (cotton, linen, silk) and for the details. Some of them were self-made on Burda patterns. I will surprise you if I tell you I am still using patterns of those times for nowaday clothing, for example a blouse from a 1989 Burda I am starting right now, although I am getting lazier and lazier lately 🤗🍀 The fabric is a white cotton with black dots 😊

You've come a long way in conveying your energy and positivity of your personality in your videos proving again that you practice what you say about self development and introspective/constructive work!! This video is practical and worth revisiting every hot summer season (40C/110F)! you are thorough and cover every possible topic! You are still very humorous and easily laugh at yourself which makes you attractive and approachable (great reminder to all of us)! Great video 😍 I live in southern Italy and our summers are pretty hot 30° to 40° so I live in cotton linen skirts and dresses all summer long 😚 I noticed even natural hemp is a good fabric for hot days...it has more consistency than linen but it's very breathable 😊

Bonjour Marie-Anne ! A tip for hot weather if you carry water around, fill a small bottle half way up with water and pop in the freezer. When it has turned to a big chunk of ice, fill the rest with fresh water. The ice will eventually dissolve but the water will stay colder longer. Fortunately up to now there has been no canicule/heat wave in France this year!

Good advice Marie-Anne. On very hot days I find difficult to find comfortable clothes that also look smart and stay fresh-looking. I’ve given up on makeup in the summertime. On humid days it just sweats off me. I do wear spf and I try to apply a tinted moisturiser but even that sometimes slides off. On extremely hot days I always carry a face flannel in my bag, to dab my face dry. A spritz with a facial mineral water is always refreshing. I always wear my hair up in the summer because I can’t stand hair around my neck when it’s hot.
You are correct about perfume. I’m not sure if it is the alcohol or a chemical reaction but perfume can cause pigmentation when exposed to the sun.

Some people just flourish in hot climate, but to me it is not very comfortable and yes, most of us living in hot climates do a change of clothes as soon as we get home from work. And yes, one has to be aware of those panda eyes!! One can look very withered if not doing "damage control" during the day!!! Viscose is also a light material that I find is resionably breathable. This video was full of wonderful advice. I live in the US where humidity and heat from May to October is a way of life.
The idea of changing is great! When I'm done with gardening in the morning, I cool off first, cleanse, and select dresses that are comfortable for the afternoon.
However, I never thought of changing if I feel hot from errands, etc.
I do use the minimum of make-up. Sunscreen is a must of course. I will remember concerning the non-alcohol scents and invest in the cooling sprays.
Great video. Keep up the good work.

Thank you thank you thank you 🙏
At last a video Iv been waiting for, Iv asked so many times on different channel’s about this subject & no response, you have covered everything I wanted to know,
I live in uk 🇬🇧 & we can have all four seasons in one day, it dsnt get warmer gradually or cooler it’s bang one or the other ...,,,,
So on the warmer days I still want to look chic without the heat, a few weeks ago I looked like something ready for a Halloween party, my makeup had run & mascara was stinging my eyes, all I’d had on my face was my lotions on my face spf & a tinted moisturiser & where the beads of sweat had run down my face I had stripes running down my cheek’s,not the look I’d gone for or wanted. I was so uncomfortable 🥵
I do take a water bottle with me, to keep me hydrated & blotting paper from Lancome & a face spray plus my Panama hat & my sunglasses,
    Truly love this video TFS,
    A HUGE THUMBS UP 👍
LOVE from across the channel 🇬🇧🙏🙏🇬🇧

I think I would love to live in Normandy. In DC, it gets very hot and humid for up to 6-7 months a year. I mean a zillion degrees with 10000% humidity. I sweat more than any woman I know and it's mostly from my face and head. It's so gross and embarrassing. I can't keep makeup on. My hair goes frizzy no matter what I do. I don't drive so I end up walking in this weather. I wear very light, sleeveless tops or cap sleeves, and mostly skirts or dresses. I wear sandals. It's gotten so casual at work in DC that up to a point you can still dress lightly and be appropriate. Where I grew up, in Oregon, summers were so much milder.

Over 40 degree days is not uncommon in our summer In the sub tropics . Staying out of the sun is key and linen is the answer as is looser clothing...... sp50 is a must

It's plus 30 here with high humidity. Hair short or tied back from face, minimize make-up, SPF, brow pencil and lipstick (although now skip the lipstick with mask wearing), never leave house without a hat (my favorite is a wide brim straw hat with little wooden bees trinkets I've attached to the brim. And a few large hair pins to anchor hat to hair in case it's a bit windy), my favourite sunglasses, sandals and pedicure all summer, switch over to linens, my preference is long and flowy dresses, skirts, wide linen trousers, layered with the thinnest natural cotton slips I can find (always looking for natural slips, including ones for pants). Always a large linen wrap or shawl (to block the sun or warm up a bit if inside and the AC is cranked up) and a cotton handkerchief in my bag or pocket to wipe away "the glow". And if I remember..a collapsible hand fan, a small spritzer bottle with cucumber or rose water. No perfume in heat and humidity please..

I live in a Northern state with cold snowy winters, but the summers are hot and mostly humid - 30 - 36 Celsius. I have no air conditioning except in my bedroom so style goes out the window when it is very oppressive. That's the time I wear shorts, tank tops or loose flowing sleeveless dresses and flip flops. No makeup (it just melts) and there's no controlling my hair so it gets pulled back with a hairband. Sadly, no wine because it just makes you hotter. :-(

Oh my lol, In our tropical climate we already know what to wear loose clothing. I would never consider a water spray because the humidity is very high and the temperature is nearly 100 Fahrenheit. I cannot even wear cotton knits, only woven fabrics and gauzes. We live in air conditioning.

I love linen, but oh my goodness! It is hard to iron, LOL!! I need a better iron, I think. You know, it never dawned on me to not use fragrances with alcohol in the summer. Makes sense! And yes, wear sunscreen!!!

Robin Moore I use lots of fabric softener in the rinse which I do by hand after the wash. Leave it in the bucket for a5mins and then hang out dripping. Easier to iron. Good luck

I live in linen in the summer here in Canada and never iron it, as that destroys the fibres. I machine wash, hang to dry and shape with my finders. It dries with a wonderful texture and lasts many years when treated this way. Ironing destroys linen.

I’m already cooler just thinking of your suggestions. I wear linen all the time but because of this pandemic, Im not going anywhere except the grocery store or Costco. At home, I wear shorts and woven cotton tanks not tee shirts cuz they’re too clingy. Basically that’s what I sleep in too. Stay indoors with AC. I love the Evian mister that I’ve not thought about. That’s very chic and French. And yes, the straw hat is a must! Thank you for your great ideas. Again a great video😁😅. It’s not that hot yet here in So Calif. But who likes to be sweaty anyway? Someone asked the hair situation, I think you need to embrace it. Whatever it is. ie, head band, hat, conditioner, scarf.

Wear sunscreen all year round. If you are fair haired, please make sure that your scalp is covered with a heat/scarf while you are in the sun (or it's no fun).

During summer I mostly wear cotton clothes, espadrilles and mocassins with invisible socks.
Sunblock is a must regardless of the weather.
I can’t imagine a day without perfume so my favorite ones are Eau Sauvage and Eau des Merveilles. They are alcohol based but their scent is unbeatable for hot days. By the way both are incredibly unisex!
I wish I could have a romance with linen but it seems we hate each other.
Marie-Anne, are sandals fine for men to wear in France?
I have never been there in summer so I have no idea.
I’m a cold weather creature so just imagine my almost constant torture in Costa Rica!
    I should move to Normandie!
Have a heavenly weekend, take care of yourself and yours!😻
