    The spacing of letters (i,e, kerning) can either be mechanical or optical. I cannot say just how excellent this video is!. Thank you for all the info!

      @@IanKarr usually for trim I use SEM Ultra Trim Black, has worked well and matches factory finish. Just FYI, yours looks great!

      @@jeffhammond8969 thanks Jeff! Yep. SEM works great too. I’ve also used rust oleum satin black which is super close. Just figured is try the “real deal” this time.

    Ah man, I knew I was missing something where the t-shaped deck lid welting goes. Off to 914 rubber!

    This is something I could actually attempt to do, and succeed!

    Would have been to see the deck lid being removed first.

      The 2 bolts holding the engine lid are underneath the hinge, so not much to see. I just use a 10mm ratcheting wrench to undo. And have a helper.

    Hi Ian. I have 2 914s. One I have driven for 10 years. The other is a project after my "77 C10. is done. JWest Engineering makes a much nicer spade fusebox for the 914. What's up on the engine? I have the same problem with the 2.0 I'm building. The last torque on cases it won't turn over.

      I really like the JWest spade fuse box. It’s just that this is an LE so I’m trying to keep as many original bits as I can. Besides, I got to play with chemistry :) as for the engine, I’m waiting for it to come back from the machinist. The align bore needed to be cleaned up a bit

    "Deez Nuts" I can't find that in my German to English dictionary! Is that a Bavarian dialect?

    Welting??
    Winlace??
    Explain

    • @IanKarr
      @IanKarr  3 роки тому +1

      I’m no google, but welting is trim meant to cover a seam, I believe it comes from upholstery (piping). Windlace is just what this stuff is called. Plastic edge trim with a metal center...usually around door openings. My 65 mustang has tons of it!
