I used to eat that steak once a week. I was always served with a few slices of lemon to squeeze over the meat. Same plate setup. Little tiny restaurant with 6 tables. An older couple who converted the front of the house to seating. Sadly when the old man passed away Mama Rosa closed the place down. His funeral was very big, every one who ate at their place was family no matter who you were. Watching you make these beefsteak brought back a lot of fond memories. BTW I'm a white man who speaks nada Spanish. But I almost lived at their house because of how nice they were. Mama made me steak one last time before she passed away also a year later. I make the same dish every year in memory and I always include a slice of lemon.
South TX cooking is the BEST. I'm a Cajun from south LA and if you combine these styles.. million dollar industry.
It's a staple in Argentina, where my dad is from. It's something so simple yet delicious. My ma would use stale bread to make the bread crumbs. They don't do a batter in Argentina though it's basically just the thin beef, egg wash, and seasoned bread crumbs. We ate it with lemon or mayo, and often served it with bread to make a sandwich or pasta. Best part was the trimmings from the meat was saved and used to make this stew that I can't remember the name of. It was basically just the beef trimmings and chicken broth, with rice being added once the beef was fully cooked. Man, I miss my childhood, got to make some milanessa some day. Maybe some empanada too.
Im from Argentina. It was so comforting to see someone recognizing the origin of the milanesas
Growing up my mom would make this with some spaghetti and salsa verde 😂 super dank
In recent times (stoner culture 😂) it has morphed into a good thing.👍
Awesome how certain food bring back precious memories😊😉🥹
Sounds like a Mexican version of chicken parmesan. I can dig it. I bet it would be pretty solid with some pico too.
Dude, my mom used to make spaghetti with chili Verde. Was so damn good
I made pasta with salsa verde on a particularly busy weeknight once and was honestly impressed with how good it was. Did no expect those two to actually go together
I've been surrounded by evil my whole life but people like this give me sunshine. You guys are the greatest🧡
Showing respect from Laredo Texas saludos Arnie awesome videos
used to be a place that served a version of Milenesa with a chili relleno split open, cheese side down then ranchera over it all. it was called Bocho's Special. Bocho was the owner's brother. Boy it was good!
That sound delicious!
Love watching you cook, makes me think how perfect this would be for a family style dinner anytime. Thanks for sharing your talent!
My grandma would always make chicken and steak milanesas and they were honestly my favorite thang and what made me look forward to going to my grandma’s house
You're Awesome 😂 Humble, Funny and Thank you for throwing in the Tex Mex Lingo 😊 CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED 🙌
My Italian mom would make it Italian style which is similar. Love it Arnie!!! Saluti 🍻
Man some homemade sausage gravy and a couple fried eggs with that would be epic !! Love the videos Arnie. Im glad you gave props to the chef. Well done my friend.
Great idea!!!!
Great video. I'm Cuban and my Abuela and my mother would make us something similar. But we called it Bistec Empanizado. Haven't had it in years. Going to have to make Milanesa de Res and see if it tastes like what I had as a kid. Looks almost identical.
Ahhh I sure love Vaca Frita and Lechon.
Looks Yummy 😊 Thanks for Sharing. I love you recipes!
I love this, can’t wait to make it!! Always look forward to y’all’s videos. 😊 🍻
I live in SW New Mexico and the meat markets sell this cut here. I've asked 200 people what its for because its so thin. Until now, I could not get an answer as what its intended purpose. Now I know and wil be doing this recipe, except I think i'll use the flat top outside. And those potatoes......dang, looks great boss
Milanesa torta mmmmm!
Wow Arnie YUMMO!!!!!! You know when I had it in Juarez, they'd spread mustard on the meat then bread it with the crackers, "DEEP" fry the sucker like 3min. Delish. I make a chile con queso with poblanos, habaneros, garlic( plenty),green onion, tomatoes. Sautee in oil with chicken knorr, water. When cooked thickend up, add plenty of jack cheese. Pour over the milanesa!!!!! Ohhhhhhhhhh hell yea!!!!!! That"Mexican"gravy is the bomb!!! Try it my friend NETA!!!! Your not only gonna happy dance, TE VAS A AVENTAR UN ZAPATIADO!!!!!!🤭🤭🤭😆😆. and dip them texas size frys in that sauce too. Many blessings from el paso tx💚
Looks so good. Sending love from San Antonio, Texas

You are a cool guy to watch. Very fun and entertaining. Thank you for showing me how it's done.
I was never fully satisfied with the way my milanesa came out. This helped out alot. I made some for my wife and I and it turned out great! Thanks for the tip.

Pegan duro las milanesas de Nuevo Leon.
Good RGV cooking by the best chef on the WWW.
Fantastic!
God Bless you Brother!... I look forward to every video you post!🙏🙌🙏❤
Muchas gracias Senor!
Milanesa is my favorite! Wow looks amazing
This is my boyfriend’s favorite meal. Thank you for the tips.
I'm gunna try it. Looks great.
In my family we didn't bread them or pound them. Just fry them as-is with a bit of salt, pepper, garlic and then slice the cooked meat into thin strips to put in a bolillo with mayo, maybe some shredded lettuce, and salsa as milanesa steak sandwiches.
If i make it myself these days, before cooking I also trim out the big veins of connective tissue or whatever that stuff is that's impossible to chew.
Dude! Looks delicious!
Amazing!
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊
Looks delicious.
Looks amazing Arnie. I’d like to give it a shot making it . Enjoy and saludos de channelview,tx . Love watching your videos.

Just found your channel and glad that I did. We had Chicken and bistek milanesas this past weekend, My nephew got down with them. I will try your style with crackers. YUM..... Para dentro...
Arni..you are the best part of what America is all about. This country can’t survive without good homemade Mexican food!! Sharing your family recipes and heritage is a nice gift to all of us. Thanks.
One of my favorite Mexican dishes. I ate Milanesa many times in traveling around Sonora. Probably the only food I like better in Mexico is Camerones al mojo de ajo. Thanks for some great videos on how to cook delicious foods!!!
Note to self: Don't watch your videos when my lunch is only a salad!!! And you're right, most people flatten the stakes before breading, just like mi santa suegra does. Thank you for demonstrating a different cooking method. Buen provecho.
Looks tasty. That’s how I like my French fries. You did good.
Delishh, mi madre made em just like that y also liver tambien, gracias for sharing..
fantastic
08:10 Buenísimo pa hacer mugrero 😂😂 “So good for making a mess!!”
good vid dood!!!
yummy yummy
Dang that looked good, gonna see if I can get some next time I go out to eat...
Just like mama used to make. I used to eat it with ketchup when I was a kid. I gotta try making that on the black stone griddle.
Man that looks great
I'm making milanesa tonight.
Just found this cut of meat. Wonderful
I love you man!
Thought Milanesa was simply a thinner cut of meat. Understandably it is used for different recipes...but i only found it because I enjoy making homemade beef jerky (just the perfect selection for it in my opinion).....BUT THIS....gonna try this. Thanks for introducing me to a different recipe....keep'um coming
cheers man
Dude that's Hähnchenschnitzel, we cook it a bit different but it's so good no matter the name.
A definite contribution from German immigrants to Texas, and Northern Mexico. Alles gut Deutchesland.
I had a feeling milanesa was schnitzel once i found out what it was. Another hidden German influence in Texas/North Mexico. Now i wanna try actual German Schnitzel
Very nice. We used to eat them with a side of sour cream
I'm gonna try that. Except for the tenderizer part because i am lazy haha
Heading to Mathis Texas right now to get us some more WOW n OG ... and then fishing at the lake 👍
In this heat? Better get a gaucho hat.
Yummy 👍
First time I had this was in torta as a kid
This looks good. I have never had that. You're my go to channel for BBQ information. Enjoy all your content. Was wondering what you thought about that ProPit Torpedo smoker. Not a lot of information out there. I want to eventually purchase some sort of smoker. Just looking around for now. I have no experience. The smoker looked interesting.
You could use round or sirloin, sirloin is a little more tender.
looks delish... try squeezing some lemon or lime on top of that milanesa when are about to eat.... adds a nice bit of tang.
Now THOSE are fries! 😍
Top 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I bet that's the bomb 💯
Looks good but this country boy would have to pour on some cream gravy. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your videos.
That looks awesome. Can you make a chicken milanesa torta video?
How do you do a torta milanesa?
“No fork for the Papa”😂🤣
Looks delicious Arnie! Thank you

Can you teach me how to make real Spanish rice. I trust you more than anyone else
Damn i havent had milanesa in a long time too man im making this soon bud
It’s like a beef schnitzel you can make it with pork, or chicken.
Thanks for the vids. Can you ask your mama to make Green Chile Pork? Gracias 🙏🏾.
Awevo skin on fries are the best
I like your pan. Is it carbon steel? Where did you get it? I want to buy one online, but It's hard to visualize the size and I really haven't looked, but can't find a decent pan in stores without it being nonstick.
don't forget that cornbread too
I love you! ❤
Do you travel to Fort Worth ? I’m originally from Falfurrias , the food is looking Good
my mom would always use the italian seasoned bread crumbs lmaooo
😋
Can you make Hispanic Philly cheesesteak? Just curious, I can’t stand bell peppers, so I make mine with jalapeño and onions, but would love to see your take on it! Everything you make is amazing ✌️
Me too, green bell peppers😖.I use roasted poblanos and grill them together with slice onion and mushrooms in the same meat drippings. WOW!!! And grill the bread in the same pan with a little mayo. 🤗. Ohhh and slices asadero cheese.Just a suggestion 🙃
