Hi well I never thought I would see this from Jamie! I fish some very deep clay pits just like this, one even is called the Blue Lagoon! The only difference is that I’m fishing for double figure Tench and Carp to high 30’s. The margin shelf is 9 ft deep and shelves to 20 ft at 6 metres going out to about 35 ft! I feed it with either a pva bag of pellets or add a very sticky binder and mould a ball around my hookbait. I’m the only angler on there fishing the pole, it’s a syndicate and all others are bivvy lads, and they think I’m mad! But the one problem I have is as Jamie pointed out that the water takes ages to warm and I often catch these big fish fishing less than 10 ft down in the summer. When I used a castable sounder I was amazed at the huge shoals and big individual fish swimming in the upper layers with virtually nothing showing near the bottom! I don’t normally fish long as the swims are big cut outs with a 10 ft high bank surrounding the swim so shipping a long pole out is very difficult. Such a great video from one of our top thinking anglers and I have no doubt If Jamie switched to natural venues fishing bloodworm etc he would very soon get a call up. Thank you to all of the team at Matrix for doing this video. Kindest regards Bill
What a welcome change. You make angling look far too easy, but this time, it seemed like you faced a bit of a challenge. 10 out a 10 for going in with a plan that worked well. I may have gone in with a sliding float set up, But we all know that won't be anything like as accurate with presentation. Love every moment of that video. Thank you.
Did the very same thing last week but could only catch silver fish (Not that I mind) Would you stay on the maggot and hope, or change to a grain of sweetcorn(Like I did) and not get a bite at all!!!? Super video and the amount of enjoyment when you do get a few decent fish is better than 'one a chuck'in the summer. Love my winter fishing when the banks are bare of others and don't even mind being 'flipping freezing'. Get Matrix to give you one of those heated suits! I have lots of layers and 'Thermal underwear' and stay warm as toast. Keep em coming Jamie and a big THANK YOU>
Super info like the matrix fishing video's. I am getting better at mine fishing. Great idea of the deep water style of fishing. Like to fish a session with Jamie
Brilliant video again with the main man. I fish a pool like that but not has deep maybe 9ft would you do the same with the micro pellets on 9ft depth has with the one in video. Thanks
@@ifishmatrix Yes, I saw him doing that and realised what he was doing which looked a bit awkward ,but 'I'm not arguing with such a brilliant angler as he's obviously sorted that problem, I know another company make a pulla short kit which fits onto the power top two to save cutting and drilling the original kit which makes it a bit longer.
@@ifishmatrix Hi, yes I saw him doing that eventually and it didn't look very comfortable its a good job he was using lightish elastic as I could see all sorts of problems if it was heavier, But Jamie knows what he's doing and does it best

How would you go about targeting skimmers/bream in 15ft on the pole whilst also on an uneven bottom?
Brilliant video again with the main man. I fish a pool like that but not has deep maybe 9ft would you do the same with the micro pellets on 9ft depth has with the one in video.
Thanks
Thank you very interesting. 👍 Thank you.
Superb 👌👌👌
superb as ever. 😊
Hi Jamie I love watching your videos and you mention that the swim is so deep how can you use a puller or do you have a puller on a number 4 section?
Michael Hilton he just grabs it from his normal top kit and pulls it down
