    i've seen many video's of method/hybrid feeders being dropped into fish tanks and watch the pellets falling out of the feeder, but i've always doubted that actually happens when casting 30m and hitting the water., thank you for this vid it is an eye openner

    Brilliant video gents and a massive eye opener would be interesting to see what a pellet feeder did too would guess pretty similar and to think that creating a slack on impact makes a difference. I also wonder if under arm shorter cast would give similar results. Many thanks for sharing the education

    This is the best video I've seen yet! Cant wait to try it this Saturday. Ive literally just bought some ground bait to mix with my pellets too. As Ive always worried about actual presentation on the bottom. You guys have just confirmed it for me. Feeling super confident now about improving my feeder fishing. As Im still really new. Thanks a lot lads 😁

    Wonderful, wonderful video. I have only been fishing a method feeder a very short time (I live in Sweden and there aren't that many place that take fishmeal) and I have been wondering how things progress when the feeder hits the water etc. The cast is key and now I can use that and feel more confident about my bait when it is in the water. Top job, thank you.

    Fantastic video ,, lessons i learnt
    Hit the clip and follow through
    Always give the feeder a good squeeze even if you have used a mould
    I will never use neat pellets again but will add a binder , be it light groundbait or my favourite ,honey melted in warm water and soak pellets the night before it stickies them up lovely and tastes nice .
    As Tommy pickering says "Dont move the feeder "
    Thanks guys Knowledge is Power.....

    i was brought up on carp fishing . i think im not bad at it . use the pva mesh bag system where the bait has more time to get to the bottom before the bag disolves with the bait in one position . im going to try the method feeding this year as the lads here explained in details what goes on . it was very clever how a brillant carp angler and matchman dicuss what is going on . two great gents and fishermen .

  • @northernlad52
    @northernlad52 4 роки тому +4

    Also, another misconception is stick float fishing where the angler thinks the bait is in front of the float. Having watched a friend fish with a stick float in very clear water and holding back, the bait was behind the float every time.

    Great video gave me a lot of insight to use in my own fishing. It would be amazing if you could do an episode based on Bomb and Pellet fishing as I have a few questions as to how catapulting pellets into a swim compares to casting them in a feeder.

    It’s basic stuff that you hit the clip and quickly lower your rod forward to stop dragging back the feeder from clipped the spot. This has been the way for 20 years. There is no need to lower on a tight line, especially using the method feeder as you’re not feeling for a drop as if you were specimen carp fishing to a gravel spot.

  • @mikeharris9948
    @mikeharris9948 4 роки тому +1

    So Polly, your bait is coming off on impact, your feeder is landing a metre off where your feeder is hitting the water and your feeder is sitting empty on the bottom..... oh we’ve got one 😂

    • @ifishmatrix
      @ifishmatrix  4 роки тому +1

      Mike Harris makes you wonder, Rob thinks they just go for the bright hookbait in the clear water

    • @mikeharris9948
      @mikeharris9948 4 роки тому +1

      Matrix Fishing I think so. Almost like fishing the lead really and catapulting over the top. Wide area of bait and a single bright hook bait near by

    I wonder if the reason its coming off on hitting the water on a tight line is anything to do with the way up the feeder is hitting the water. Perhaps on the follow through the feeder rights itself to hit the water lead up....Not sure of the physics on that.

  • @davechisholm6313

    Brilliant vid. What do we learn? Trust your own cast and dnot use the clip. Method/hybrid feeder is a dinner plate. So why fish the same stop.

    Amazing idea "Matrix Submerged"! Priceless info from you guys! Please, for us, the newbies, if possible, make a new video, showing what happens when you drag the lead on the bottom of the lake, to better understand the signals from the tip of the rod.
    Thanks in advance, Florin!

    Hello! I dot not know if I understood well... So to keep the pellet in the feeder at the throw, you need to point the fishing bottom? As soon as the feeder approaches the surface of the water? I do not use the clip? Greetings from Poland :)

  • @thebolsta

    Just one of the reasons I always feather the line with my finger, and never use a line clip.

    • @krzysztofkk6964
      @krzysztofkk6964 2 роки тому

      Could you explain how exactly you do this Sam? Thank you

    • @thebolsta
      @thebolsta 2 роки тому

      @@krzysztofkk6964 Make your cast, just before your tackle hits the water, stop the line coming off the spool with your finger. This will ensure your tackle lands in a straight line. Especially important when fishing with a float.

    • @krzysztofkk6964
      @krzysztofkk6964 2 роки тому

      @@thebolsta How is it different than using a line clip?

    • @thebolsta
      @thebolsta 2 роки тому +1

      @@krzysztofkk6964 Because you can apply pressure with your finger gradually, allowing a few loops through before butting on the brakes fully.
      Also, If you do get a run and have to give up line to the fish, you can. If the line is clipped up you can't give any line to a fish. And your finger will not damage the line like a clip can.

    • @krzysztofkk6964
      @krzysztofkk6964 2 роки тому

      @@thebolsta I see your point about gradually stopping the tackle. I think that a similar effect can be achieved by holding your rod with a loose wrist rather than being rigid.
      By giving up the use of line clip you lose the accuracy, which is often a key in method feeder.
      Also for giving up a line to the fish - I recommend using safe line clips like ACS or made of rubber/silicone (e.g. flagman produces them).

    This has to be one of the best video produced, the problem with the line clip bouncing the bait off the feeder can easily be solved using 6-8 solid pole elastic as a replacement for using a line clip. the setup can be viewed here ref tip 4#, ua-cam.com/video/ZB209VuaAo8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Andrew%27sKnots

    i use bait tech sticky method micro pellets but for sure i'm gonna mix a little groundbait in from now on.
    I don't really need to clip up where i fish, round lake with no features to cast to, but i do try and slow down the line before the feeder hits the water.
