Many of the glam bands of the time had lead vocalists who couldn't pull it off live, guitar players who were playing run of the mill licks or were just flat out ripping other players off, and VERY few that had solid 3 or 4 part vocal harmonies. In fact, I can only think of a couple off hand in this league.... Extreme and Mr. Big come to mind.
Believe they could still do Concerts,Instead of Playing in Popular Lounges,If they would get with Other Popular groups of their time,Like Maybe Def Leppard,As People Are still willing to Pay for Multiple Groups @ Concerts.We Have Def Leppard & Motley Crue & Pat Benetar Coming in Mid.August @ Atl.Braves Stadium.

Saw them a couple times in their heyday at a smaller local venue. First band I was ever blown away with their live sound. Was less than 10’ from the stage and couldn’t believe how good especially his voice sounded.

Saw Kip Winger in a small bar doing a solo acoustic show about 5 yrs ago. He is not just a phenomenal bass player and singer, he was an outstanding guitar player.
I've been a fan of the group Winger since I was in high school back in the late '80s to early '90s and I still am today. Kip rocked back then and he still knows how to rock today. He's still just as handsome as he was then. He just matured. I still listen to them today. All members of the group are still talented and equally handsome. Winger will continue to rock til they can no longer do so. Long live Winger!!!
When Kip was bassist for Alice Cooper back in the 80s, Alice said it was only a matter of time before Kip was a star. Fast forward nearly 40 years and Winger is still putting out badass music and with the same lineup (+1) to boot.

Everyone that lived [as a fan] during this era (late '80s) had no idea that Grunge was going to take over in 1991 and that bands such as this (Winger) and others and who played this type of metal (Glam Rock) were going to become extinct due to the arrival of Grunge (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and STP). Yes, but back to Glam Rock, but in 1989 this type of music was barely reaching the top of the mountain before everything changed (for the better or for the worse but it depends on how you see it). For me, it was sad that the Glam metal rock movement was out. Winger in 1993 had "Pull" and it was a great album but they were just Overshadowed by the Grunge Steam Roller. Second, If I remember Correctly but Kip Winger was the first One to use the Mic Head Gear set (when it came to singing vocals). No one else during that time was wearing the Mic Head set. Glam Rock lasted from 1980 to 1991. August 4, 2021, Wednesday.
What so many bands do wrong, even the professional ones is that, they record the vocals with voice FX, And that adds thickness and presence to it, also corrects little imperfections, but when playing live, they don't use those FX, which makes their vocals to sound very bad. Now Winger knew that, and they always used FX when playing live, and made their live presentations sound just like their studio recordings. Of course one can't deny the skills of its members, they're professional. So, now you know, if you want to sound good use some FX, nothing wrong with it and makes your sound more enjoyable.

Another great example of this point is the SNL performance of Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana.. One of the few where Kurt makes an effort to sound like the recording.. He has a chorus/doubler effect on his voice(much more audible then on this Winger performance, if indeed it was used, I need to listen more closely). Combined with his awesome performance, the combo sounds wicked..
So many people just jumped on the bandwagon because of Beavis and Butt-head without ever even listening to their music... they are far better musician's than Metallica could ever wish to be...
Winger brought a kind of musical taste to the genera that has keeps them sounding fresh all these many years later. Somehow they come off working as an ensemble when other groups like Whitesnake now sound canned, well produced but overproduced somehow.
Ive always admired the level of musicianship in this band, but Kip's vocals here are amazing. This is why guys my age cannot understand this generation's acceptance of live autotune and backing tracks.

Stumbled into this exactly 34 years to the day it was aired. Amazing performance from an overlooked band of the era.
Very few bands at the time had this level of musicianship and skills...this song is one of my faves from them.
