Cut that plastic tip back a bit and throw a piece of adhesive lined heat shrink on there. That should keep the plastic boot from sliding off. That or heat shrink the whole metal probe with a few layers of heat shrink and toss the “boot”. Probably hold up better for everyday use.
This is something I need! That unit would make so much of my trouble shooting so much faster. Even if I used it once to figure out a trailer plug or harness it would be worth it. It would definitly save me time going through lawn tractor electrical as well.
I have an older Power Probe that does all the same stuff (back when you had to buy them off the tool truck so it was EXPENSIVE as HELL) but it doesn't have the LED head lights. I even bought the extension leads so I can do Semi-Trucks. Doing electrical work, You Have To Have This. Before having this, I used to only use a test light & multi-meter. Doing it with those 2 "can be done" but can take you days to find problems. A good "power probe" like this can knock that down to an hour. Good video man, and coming from a guy that hates Amazon Bought Tools, you damn near have me convinced to buy one of these just for the LED lights in it. (that and I paid nearly 4x that amount years ago for the one I have now without that).
always been a power probe guy. haven't used a meter in some time. doesn't completely replace a dmm but it's the first thing I get out for electrical diag.
HeyRich, I got one of these after I saw your van upfitter trailer connection video. I can't believe I lived without it for so long - LOL! I have used it to help straighten out a few upfitter fubars on my RV. Thanks for all your great videos - I have learned a lot and you are a fantastic teacher! Kathy
Not sure if you had time to read the instructions . I purchased a Hook Power Probe years ago , the feature i absolutely love on the Hook Power Probe is the ability to adjust voltage . I can dial down the voltage to 5 volts to replicate a reference signal or do testing on select 6 volt vehicles and some farm equipment . I use the original Power Probe for basic testing , the Power Probe Hook when necessary along with my Snap-On Vantage Ultra and Blue Point self-ranging multi-meter Every job calls for a specific tool simply for ease so i am always open to new diagnostic options ! If you have already or find the time to read the manual please post if the Ancel tool has the variable voltage option . ... Good video ... Thanks
I have a Power Probe 3 but it only does voltage (power and ground). Upon seeing this review I ordered one this morning, should have it tomorrow (if Amazon is on their game). It's a fraction of the cost of its main competitor the Power Probe 4, figured I would give one a try.
I just picked up the real cheap Allsun one the other day just to try it now im for sure convinced im buying that Ancel I also use from them their big scan tool X7 The thing is amazing i believe its better than my Autel and super affordable!!!!!
@@FordBossMe bro you can even rewrite vins on some manufacturers do coding on BMWs it does everything man it's got all the hot functions it was only like 500 bucks I know you can get a cheaper then than that now but it's well worth the money bro it is a really nice neat scan tool
Ford Boss me, my son bought the Ancel PB 100 circuit probe, we have a SUV, after he replaced the starter the battery light came on. How do we know how or what to test with the Ancel? Thank you.
I had there old version and it sucked you would put it on a ground and have to wait 3 to 5 seconds for it to say hay I'm touching a ground. Looks like they upgraded it and it seems more responsive. Also the screen seems way brighter then mine. Mine the screen is unreadable in sunlight. Looks like I may have to pickup the new version
I looked at buying the Ancel but last year JB Tools had a Black Friday sale on a Power Probe 3 so I bought it as a X-mas present to myself. Never got to use it because my basement backed up & the Power Probe got filled with water.
A niffty test tool for the auto technician. I would like to see an actual Test Lead being able to plug into the top of the probe too. Love the long power leads - great idea and USEFUL !
You forgot to leave a link in the description like you did for the caliper tool. I need a probe for the home, as I just use a bulb right now HAHA. Nothing like the old tools, they'll last and last.
Looks decent. Maybe better then the brand power probe 3 for example, this unit you show seems to have more options then the original power probe. Maybe do a comparison..?? Just a thought.... Cost difference/quality. 👍👍
I seafoamed the crap out of my 2008 explorer with the 4.6 3V, it had 140k on original plugs when I bought it. I put the 1 gallon jug of seafood in the gas tank. Smoked like hell every time I started it on that tank of gas, but none of them broke.
Just bought an Autel PS-100 that looks just like a clone of this tool. (Probably made in the same factory.) I’ve only played around with it hooked up to a booster pack, but it looks like it’s going to be a very useful tool to have.
So Amazon has told me that they really appreciate the review I did on the Circuit Probe from Ancel and they're going to give anybody else that follows me 35% off and I do not make any proceeds off of these guys They just said they really appreciate the in-depth review that I did www.amazon.com/dp/B078GPS6KV Code: F3PQBI7L There's been two people specifically in the comments section that say I am making money off of this and if that was the case you would see in the affiliate link my name and it's not my name so if people going to make those claims they won't be on the channel I don't make any money off of this posting Make sure you apply the code at the end that's why people are seeing a higher price because they're not applying the code correctly Amazon said the code expires in two days
@@FordBossMe Oops, sorry. Thanks. And you know what? I know you're not making anything off those sales but who cares if you did? I would love for you to get a bunch of free stuff to review so we all would know if it's worth buying. We all know you are an expert and would love your reviews. Thanks for all you do! You da man! I agree that could be a fixed I just want to give the people that wanted me to do this review some insight on what I could see as a potential issue

Yay rich's angel was with me this weekend when I successfully replaced all spark plugs in my 09 5.4.3 triton ford
Plugs had 163k on them
Wow very nice....the more often the easier they are to get done

Does the tester require calibration on the resistance testing?
No
At Least i didn't have to calibrate it
How do you like it compared to the Amprobe?
It's really nice it's very responsive I like it
Great review

Cost ?
Last I seen it was like 80 bucks
74.99 plus tax at Walmart
Didn't say _Stay Blessed_ at the end of the video. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Not sure I would call checking a few random earths, and 12 volts at the alternator a "full shop review"
No clue thus was a long time ago
Wtf this comes with a decent hard case and my way more expensive snap on power probe/tester came in a cardboard box.
I never buy anything that's marked negative per advice from my spiritualist.
Don't know what that means but it sounds pretty cool

Personally, I hope all my friends are negative.
A drop of super glue on probe
Indeed but they need to know that at Ancel so they may see your comment and take that into consideration
