Oh the nostalgia. My first smart phone which stuck with me for 3 years 😍
my first touch screen phone back in 2012. Mann I really love that notification light and the ambience lighting at the bottom. They don't make those in smartphones nowadays
my second android phone😍😍i buy it because falling in love with the design
8 years later and i still have stress problems because of this phone haha

When I first got thid phone I loved it, it was my first android and it was amazing how much xuch a fast android could do.
Then jellybean came...
The phone became laggy, unresponsive, took too much memory on my phone...
I wanted to download a game the other day and it said no more memory but I had 1,6 gb.
Dont buy this phone until a new update arrives.

Had it a year and its the worst phone I've had
I'm getting this phone on Tuesday but I wasn't too sure what I was getting as I ordered it over the phone but now I know and I can't wait. It seems so much better than the standard Blackbarry Curve 8520:)
I got this phone yesterday, and I love it. This has been my first android phone and I am highly impressed.
I just got this phone and I love it. If you don't have small fingers typing may be an issue but you can always tilt the phone sideways

it does on the bottom, when you play music on walkman the light will matches the music cover. like when you're listening to a music with mostly red colour on the cover, the light will turn into red too
I love the original design language Sony has and it's really beautiful phone compare and perfect screen size for one hand. I have an iPad for heavy apps and I find Xperia J greatly fit my needs as a socializing tool.
I would want the Xperia J, the only thing is I usually watch all my youtube subscriptions on my mobile, and wouldn't want to be stuck with the same problems I have with my current phone watching them.
I've had this phone for nearly 2 years and it is perfect, does everything i need it to do. People who think the i Phone is better are going to be surprised for all the problems they will have.
Is it waterproof? I dropped mine in my fish tank and it still works. I want to know if it's water proof so I can film my fish from underwater.

Get the J, it's more modern, and the screen on the U is very narrow - hard to type + that makes the screen seem like it's smaller than it really is (I'm still finding it hard to believe it's a 3,5 in, it seems more like 3,2 or something). Not to mention I was deleting photos and stuff from the phone just weeks after I got it (since there's no micro sd card slot)
Hi there, I am in the same situation with 3. They are offering me Xperia J or Galaxy Ace. I will go for the Sony Xperia Plus remember you have 0.5" bigger screen, the battery is removable so in case you need uplift. My advice is go for the Sony than Samsung here. Happy New Year

But the camera quality is not that good
The U is faster, but the J has a larger screen that's much more comfortable to type on. I personally think that the U's display is too narrow for decently comfortable use of the keyboard, and so I'd say get the J. But it may not be the best choice either. In your country, what are its main competitors in its price range?

I won this phone in a Keymaster arcade machine first go, so im happy with it
the circles are proxymity sensors so that when you'r ear is close to the phone during a call the screen turns off so you dont press anything accidentally

It is worth buying because you get upgrades on this phone. the screen is bigger than iphone 4 phone's. as well as it's bright but you can change the brightness of the phone in settings and actually it takes good pictures cause the camera is 5mp px.

I have this phone since January 2013 and now going to upgrade to Xperia M2. But I can't find the Backup & Restore on the Sony PC Companion. The Xperia Transfer Wizard will copy content to new phone, but in the first place I need to backup the old phone. How do you guys transfer from Xperia J to a new phone?
The worst phone I had ever bought. I haven't used a lot yet and even more buy another Sony phone because of this here. I regret every euro I gaved for this phone
Had this phone,it was ok at first,but start loading up on apps and photos,and the lags become unbelievable! If you get a smartphone it has to be dual core in this day! So I've now got Xperia SP which is awesome and as fast as they come period! I would not recommend getting this phone as for a little bit more cash you can get Xperia M which is dual core and has NFC and far superior performance!
get ur facts right before saying n telling wrong info to people. xperia U is a 1ghz Dual core processor. while the xperia J is a only 1ghz single core. Xperia U is smooth but xperia J lags. Read the official review before commenting on others. Get Ur facts right
I love my phone xperia j I got it almost 9 mos, I always been dropped my not only once more that 15 times but wow still so good to be true. I love this phone

Get the xperia m which is the model up from it, the only difference is that it has a 1ghz dual core compared to the j's 1ghz single core, which means no lag or sluggish performance.
Let's be honest here. The phone was launched many years ago, don't buy it. But my experience with it is... Wow. It was the best. High quality and lasted for 4 years. In that time, it was really nice
I love how she says nice things about a rather nice phone, unlike PhoneArena who says the phone sucks :s

Xperia J Advantage: Runs Android 4.0 and now curently updating to 4.1 n Slightly larger screen at 4Inch.
Galaxy W Advantage: Fast Cpu 1.4Ghz
thanks for your review!!! I wanted xperia Miro but the resolution of the screen of miro and higher battery duration of J made me change my mind. also the design of J is really nice and smooth. I was thinking about Sola too, which is a fairly good phone with a bit less battery duration than J, good res screen, but the design is just ugly, looks like a phone stuck on something that wasn't suppose to be there :D since J is overall good and better with music stuff, it's a phone for me :)
It is a little faster than you say: It runs videos fine and it isnt hard to turn on. But anything else would i say too.

Does anyone have the problem of it always saying that the phone has no storage left when it clearly does? Also it gets really slow after like 2 weeks of use.

It's been two years since I did the mistake and bought this phone! The phone doesn't let you move your apps to your sd card which means you may have 3-4 apps/games(not more than 30mb each). Also it lags at least at everything I am trying to do, and the keyboard pops out when I am trying to write, whenever it wants to. The only positive thing about it, is the design. If anyone considers to buy it, I recommend you not to do so!!
I was gonna get the Lumia but i got advice from a friend and heard that the windows phones weren't great. However its up to you maybe get advice in the phone shop :)

i bought this phone 2 weeks ago. first time, it was still Ice Cream Sandwich android version and this phone is a total rubbish! But Xperia J turned into a new phone after updated to Jelly Bean. Bye bye freeze screen, unresponsive touchscreen no more, more smooth animation, and longer battery life. Love this phone ^^
This phone recently recieved an update for build 11.2.a.0.33, this update cleared 70 MB of RAM and this phone rarely lags now. Way better now then it was when it first launched

get the htc one v for only a few bucks more, the cpu is around the same but the camera is flawless

Do you have to crop images for wallpapers or can you set the whole image as your wallpaper without losing most of it when its cropped?

my xperia j not laggy. the camera work well, it's cheap here (my primary phone is samsung note 2 which much much more expensive :p), no charging bug, the brightness is fine. btw, why you bought this phone for gaming? lol
this phone built for normal use = chat whatsapp, line, wechat, and something like that. if u want gaming phone, try something better like samsung s4 or htc one.

Na, retail price brand new is 199 euros, you can get it used for 140 euros, bargain him down. Brilliant phone for the price though.

They aren´t the same thing. U has a 1GHz dual core processor and mali400 GPU while the J has a single core 1GHz and Adreno 200 GPU. And why do you that U has a worse screen resolution when its ppi is higher?

How are the well known lag issues in xperia j now? are they fixed with the new 4.1.2 jelly bean?
1.Camera.....rear camera is pretty good but it doesn't support HD recording....nd front camera just gives u can say BLUR image.
decent phone even though it has some flaws such as the unlock/power button that has to be pressed harder and ocassionaly lags
I need suggestions. Is Xperia J better or Xperia Arc S ? I noticed that Arc S has 8mp whereas the J has 5mp. Other than that we have 4gb internal memory (2GB user) in J, and the Arc S has 350mb user available ( or something like that).. Please give some advice. Thank you :)

You can change from QWERTY to cvntional button on Sony Xperia.
i got Xperia V 4.3" screen, but they still put cnvntional button option.

I have this phone. It's great okay!! It has long battery life.
