HTC Desire X is a great option right now under 20k. Reasons why other phones you have considered are not good enough,
1) Xperia J - Only good things - 4 inch screen, great battery, jb update. On downside- poor processor and weak gpu, less ram. Multitasking problem "may" occur.
2) Htc one V - Not future proof since no jelly bean update. Non user removable battery. Otherwise, this is also a great handset.
3) Galaxy S Duos - Lags a lot.
4)S advance is discontinued.

the thing is, display is not such a big deal breaker for me... its the performance i look at... then would you still go with xperia j??
Totally agree more about the storage issue.. I am personally using the Xperia u and found it snappy.. I also use an Xperia p.. both are close in performance and the extra ram in the Xperia p has an edge.. on the u, I use the cloud often and it doesn't lag at all.. great mid range android phone..

@ priyansu no UI offers a "kill all" button in the task switcher menu accept touchwiz.so blaming only timescape would be unfair.and s + is no better alternative to j.there r better ones like htc one v.
I do however feel that timescape could have a better layout than some kind of "night" or "dark themed" colour that it currently has.plus timescape doesn't allow to add/remove homescreens.these things need to be addressed it timescape.

like..1.it lags a lot..due 2 a outdated processor..
2.no BRAVIA engine..no HD..CAMERA pics are not as great as in xperia u..
now i dont want HD,bt is fn is slow in web browsing or playing simple games like temple run????

this phone contains cpu : 1 GHz Cortex-A5 gpu : Adreno 200 which both are two generations older.
in india in the box of xperia j does it contain diffrent back panels or only single with device it self?
Xperia u might be a better option... with the dual core processor and a Mali 400 gpu, it is evidently a better performer coming at the same price as the Xperia j... only the screen size of the Xperia u(3.5 inch) is a compromise..
