My daughter heard the video start and said, "I wanna see!" She seen the tree drop and said that was daddy lol. Told her I can't do that when she's around. Y'all are doing an awesome job with this logging project. I'm doing farm projects tomorrow before it gets cold. I hope y'all had a great day!
Chris you have mastered the grapple like a surgeon operating a DaVince in the OR. Watching you both walk out after four days and 20 hours of tractor time and all of Ken's work showed love and respect for each other. This year, there was a commercial of three old eomen sledding down a hill. The original commercial went back in time to when the ladies were sledding as children. I pictured the two of you walking out of the woods now and then the hundreds of times when you were growing up. Nice video and the new yard looks great.
Good work Carlson Bros. Kind of thing that this country was built on. Clearing the land for development or farming. Makes you really appreciate what the pioneers did with basic equipment and horses. GNI
Good Morning Chris 😊 Another beautiful, but cold morning and we are expecting a large snowstorm starting on Saturday night and then another one behind that and then another one behind that I live in the middle of the white mountains of New Hampshire and we could get blasted but that’s OK. I love it if I didn’t I wouldn’t live here. 🌨️☃️❄️❄️🥶🎄
Hi Chris. Hi to Ken also. I like these long videos. Tells a complete day. It is fascinating to watch you with the grapple. Amazing at what all it can do. Ken's "baby" tractor is a workhorse, too. I must say he does not treat it like a baby. Uses it like it was born a JD 8010.
Awesome vid today Chris! All kinds of fun! 🔥💯👍. Lots of great seat time with the DK on this trip 🔥💯👍. Awesome to see and great work both you an Kenny on this job! See you soon! Andrew from NB :)
Can someone stop by and help me off the throne? My feet fell asleep 37 minutes in this morning!🙄 On cold days like this the saw guy will stay much warmer then the tractor guy!🥶 Glad it worked out that you were able to help Ken with this project. It is definitely safer having another guy around!👍
Inconvenient truth: some of us that enjoy and learn from In the W., harvest and work firewood for ourselves only. Not commercial or pro. For decades I've done the 6-8 cords ( real ones here in Maine 128 cu ft ) for 99% wood stoves heat. I've learned a lot from you. No tractor ( she said "Bhutan or tractor), only an ATV with trailer with a slow 10T electric splitter. Oh, I use Stihls with one top handled "tree" Husky (338XPT) that's great for getting into the mess canopy of blowdowns. And as a pro "senior" (sic) my bars are down to 16" except for the Husky 14". Chris ,you are the MBA of wood.
Chris your finally getting pretty good with tractor n grapple pinch n rotate back pinch rotate back gets good hold on everything only negative I say never seen a fire going got to be tons brush all over
No smack talk here but listening to that tractor grunt and groan trying to move that whole tree made my day! I love to push equipment and that was giving er!
Tell your brother if he presses the brake pedal in a little bit it will lock the rear end in and both rear tires will pull. That way he will have more traction to pull those logs.
You can really see how much stacks up from such a small area. 4 or 5 sticks out of each tree. There’s 100s of amazon boxes in that pile. You’ll make a lot of people happy to get there orders in a Woodyard box. Peace
Ken's saw really eats up that pine. Is he going to take the stumps out or just let them rot? That grapple is a very handy tool It sure makes things a lot easier.
Good news I’m the proud owner of new bouncing big boy Husky 572XPG. First 70cc class saw. I’m not sure of I can handle it. All my saws over the last 35 years were/are 50-57cc class. Wish me luck
Good afternoon Chris and Ken!!!! 🌞🌞. Hey, just being curious and/or nosy, why didn't you make one big brush pile and burn it? I know that it's good for the critters but it might have made it easier on you guys. Have a safe journey home Chris! 👍❤️📹🤔😳😃
Cut the stumps low and get some wood chips... I have a wood chip road and process all my wood on wood chips. Makes it really easy to stay away from the dirt...
That tractor got a work out. It's easy to see why that log grapple is worth having, if you do that type of work all the time. A root rake style grapple is great for the average guy but won't work as nice with logs. I've seen people take their bucket/implement off their loaders and put it in the front of the trailer and pull forward to balance the weight better in their trailers but the arms hang over the front a bit. (doesn't hurt anything and don't think you can get a ticket for it either but??) I know those pick ups and trailers can be unsafe.
Maybe when I am over 80. No, I am on and off hundreds of times a day and with working in the woods (not a field or driveway) I want to see everything and be able to crawl all over it and do things with the cameras you could not do with a cab..
