Good lord, I need to remember to breathe. Sorry guys, I bet you hoped to talk too!
Not at all, the people want to hear your thoughts more than ours! Looking forward to getting together again after this mess clears up.
The original TonePress was my introduction to Barber years back... since then bought probably another half a dozen of his pedals up through to the latest Gain Changer... Barber pedals are still - in a sense, sadly - one of the best kept secrets out there
Those that know... know! For sure!
This explains why having a signal splitter in your tool box is a good idea. I often use when recording in order to keep a dry track to tinker with at the mix.
Great video and editing decision guys, it really was for an episode of its own.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment.
I’m so happy to see this. I’ve had the large version TP for years and over the last three I’ve been searching for a more readily available and smaller footprint compressor with blend. I’ve been through a few and currently with a very popular, often recommended one - but I just can’t seem to gel with it.
I put my TP back in and whoa! I just could not believe the difference. That tube/valve like response was so evident. And then I find this video and hear the man himself explain the circuitry that does this.
Problem is it’s not so easily available (I’m a yank living in the UK now) and a bit pricey to be using on a gigging board - I’d be so paranoid about it getting spilled on or stolen.
I do hope to see more of an international marketing push with maybe even a mini design to grab that market. There’s nothing like the Tone Press IMHO.
Have you reached out for a price through the barber electronics website? I believe he sells them directly for $179.95. That’s a great price for a pedal that’s still hand built! I’m not sure what the shipping would be like. Of course, there is nothing wrong with the old big boxes either. That is if you have the room on your board. Thanks for the comment!
Still one of the best compressors out there second to none.
Love the barber pedals! Nice job guys!
Thanks!
Pure gold. Thanks for that!
Glad you liked it. David is great.
PJ and the Beard like you said, he’s a genius. And you guys are awesome for giving us the opportunity to watch and hear more of him.
