Solo Camping in the Pacific NorthWET - Amputee Outdoors

- On June 1st and 2nd, I went camping for the night at Annette Lake. This mountain lake is nestled in the Cascade Mountains here in Washington State and is a beautiful spot for a camping trip. Even if it rains from the moment I set up my rainfly to the next morning when I left. :) Well, it's the Pacific Northwest (WET), so I suppose that's to be expected. Join me as I set up my rainfly and hammock, get a campfire going, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest.

nice hike and video ... that rainfly is the bomb
Absolutely! Having a big rainfly is the difference between huddling and relaxing in the rain.
Nice wild camp at Annette Lake. Thank you for sharing. nice set up. Have a fantastic week.-
Thanks, you too! My set up has been refined thanks to many incremental mistakes. 😀
Absolutely stunning! The way this video showcases the beauty of hiking destinations is just incredible. Hats off to you. I'm wearing a prosthesis myself and I know what kind of challenge nature can be ;)
Glad you enjoyed it! A good prosthetic, regular exercise, hiking poles and planning overcomes many challenges. :)
Annette Lake was my first backpacking trip last year! I enjoyed the video!
Thanks! I hope you are able to enjoy more backpacking trips in the Cascades.
@@amputeeoutdoors absolutely! I'm going to backpack as much as possible this summer!
Nice.. I started to hike that but turned around and headed back down. I should have pushed on. Looks like a nice area. Thanks for the video brother
Any time! When the weather is nicer this is one of the most attractive lakes around. :)
You picked a good time to go since I expect that trail to be crowded in nice summer weather.
@@DeanCutletYeah, I've done this trail on a sunny day in the summer and it's hard to find a good spot to even have lunch when you reach the lake.
Cold Rainer beer in the rain. It doesn't get any more PNW then that!
How do you tell people you're a Washingtonian without saying you're a Washingtonian? Drink Rainier in the rain while camping in June. 😂
Hi! Can you do a video on getting your leg on and getting out of the hammock. I'm also an amputee and getting out of mine can be a challenge sometimes!
Sure thing!
A wet trip! Not the best conditions to be out in! You made the best out of it.
I operate on the policy that any day spent camping in the woods, regardless of the weather, is a good day. 😃
