Good info by the way, the Bad Boy bag guards are great. You might want to get some washers to place under the seat where the bar sets so that you won’t scratch your side covers

Good piece of advice. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely be buying some rubber washers to keep em off the paint 🤘🏻

Hate to see that, but I would suggest using factory Harley gaskets with those covers, and make sure to only snug the screws down and not overfill. This is the advice I gave out when I worked for H-D.
    Bike looks great !

I brought my 15 SGS for a yearly inspection to Atlanta Harley. After going for a ride right after with my girl i noticed my reservoir was leaking. Pulled out to discover the lid was just sitting on it without the screws fastened. I was pissed and drove directly back to let them know. I couldn't believe the incompetence of the mechanic and will never go back to harley dealership again. Like you said a drop on the paint would ruin it and my bike is custom painted.

Harley brake systems use DOT 5 brake fluid, which is silicone based and won't damage paint like other brake fluids. Does that clutch reservoir not use DOT 5? Perhaps too you can try using thread sealant on the screws. Still, you are 100% right, such a simple thing should not be causing you trouble.

Yeah. Unfortunately this takes DOT 4. I ended up removing the top caps and putting the stock ones back on until I can figure out what’s exactly causing the leak

@@Gimps_Garage I don't blame you. I would weep like a girl if I got a drop of that stuff on that gorgeous paint.

Harley says DOT 4 for 2005 up, DOT 5 is silicone based and not suitable for abs systems.

sounds like its overfull, id take a syringe and take a little of the fluid out. ive always filled mine until the fluid is just below the lowest parts of the rubber gasket that goes on top before the cover. ive seen stock lids do the same thing when overfull and the fluid gets hot or boiled.

I checked. It’s definitely not overfilled. It’s coming out of the screw hole. Which means their hardware sizes is not matched up to their ported out holes in the cap.
