G'day Julia, I have kept you in my prayers these past months as you transition into your hopefully forever home. 🩷 I absolutely love these cards, and your colour choice is stunning. You are right in adding some gold splatters as it would lift the cards to the next level. I was surprised at how the brown ink blended in the corners only made such a difference, but subtly. I just love what you come up with, and as I no doubt have said before you are a very talented lady. I am looking forward to 'Susie's Watercolour Wednesday' tutorials, and hopefully you will inspire me to return to my watercolour paints again. I stopped cardmaking and painting over winter and snuggled under a rug reading books. As it is now getting warmer (Spring here in Australia) that I no longer have a valid excuse to stay out of my craft studio. I am looking forward to painting along with you. 🎨 Take care my friend. God's blessings, love and hugs. 🥰🌷🩷🎨
Hey Gloria! This bunch of colours has such a nice blend, and you are right the brown is key to toning it down subtly. I hope you won't be disappointed in Wednesdays you are such a marvelous watercolour artist! But thank you for your support of my journey. I am enjoying the beginning chapter! God's blessings, love and hugs.
Happy to hear you will be closing on your new home, can't wait to see it and your new studio when it is done. All your cards are beautiful, I can't choose a favorite, they are all great cards. I enjoyed watching you make todays card. Congrats to you and Jon on the new house!!
I bought the glue upon your suggestion and I love it. It gives me more time to place my elements and does not warp the paper. It is my new favorite. For sure, will be there on Wednesday! 😊
Julia you always come up with some great background ideas. It looks like extreme closeup of ,Christmas lights looking through a window that has rain coming down outside.
Hi Julia. Wow, first let me say congrats on your new home. I'm so happy and excited for you. What great cards. My favourite one is the one you made tonight. The colours just seemed right. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
I know - it's such a relief not to be facing another year of building and then all the yardwork that goes with new construction. Glad you liked this card!!
I love all the cards…they are fun and whimsical. ❤ Again, so excited for you to settle into your new home and studio. Prayers for an easy and safe transition.
Wonderful new ways to put a card together and just love your holiday card I'm going to try to make some by following your style. So happy I came across to your website, thank you soooo much!
The cards are pretty and whimsical too, Julia. I actually thought a first look that they were water coloured backgrounds. You are probably right in the middle of your move. Make sure you take your breaks or you can hurt your back … 😘❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much! Oh goodness this move is about to overwhelm and we haven't even gotten to any studio stuff yet. We are taking a break this weekend and doing a bit of fall yardwork. The change of pace helps break up the pressure of unpacking.
I just love this card. My favorite Christmas colors! And I have been using the PVA glue you recommended and it is great. I finally found one of the tiny bottles, it was all glogged and the glue was dried up and it took some elbow grease and a tiny little wire, but it is working perfectly. Can't wait to see your new house!
I'm so glad you liked these Sybil! And that you like the glue. It takes forever to use up a 16 oz bottle, so it's a great value. I can't wait either - we close tomorrow!!
Congratulations on the new house!! So happy to hear that this is all coming together finally!! Your cards were all beautiful! It’s hard to pick a favorite but I do really like the one from today! On the one that you said was probably going into the bin, could you take a blending marker or a color lifter marker to the green swipes (I’m guessing that’s the part you didn’t like)? I don’t know what kind of markers you used but if they are alcohol markers you could try to lighten the green with either a blender or color lifter or maybe even a atop with a little alcohol on it - very little alcohol. You could also try going over them with a lighter green as sometimes lighter colors will lighten up darker colors if they are alcohol based.
Thanks Maureen - I thought about trying to lift some of the marker back off, but ya know - it's only paper and it's OK to toss a card once in a while. But (LOL) it's still in the card rack - HA!!

I was sceptical to begin with, doing the stamping first, but it turned out beautiful.
Thanks Donna!
