Welcome aboard, now let’s go. Get on some Hillbilly Bone, Fulsom Prison Blues, Some Girls Do & then bust a gut laughing all the way through Butts Remix. Then you may know the guys well enough to get your mind totally blown with Mayday. Us Home Fries will be along for the journey so get going. We’re gonna have a great trip !! 👍
I am SO happy you’re reacting to Home Free!! They are AMAZING!! They are the only country a cappella group out there right now! Although they’re country, they do a little bit of everything!! IMO Adam Rupp is the best beat boxer EVER!! You are going to have so much fun going down the Home Free rabbit hole!! Enjoy the ride!!
One of their better covers is A John Mayer song "In the Blood". Another one with wonderful sound combined with wonderful scenery is "How great thou art". Since you are branching out you might sample another acapella group called Voice Play. They do a cover medley of "Moana" and "Little Mermaid". Voice play is very theatrical.
This song is actually a hundred years old. No one actually knows who wrote it, and everyone has done a cover, including Bob Dylan. 🤗😎🤔 Glad I found your channel. I've got a past too. 😔😐😊
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole....so much good music. Check out Dive Bar Saints, Die a happy man, American Pie, When a man loves a woman, and just dropped yesterday, Crazy
Yes...the Tim Foust face!! 😁 For more of his insane molten lava deep bass voice, plus Adam's harmonica (and some other unreal noises) and Austin's (the redhead) high soaring vocals, check out "Folsom Prison Blues." But truly, you can't go wrong with anything they do. Welcome to my favorite acapella group!!! (Pentatonix is a close second.)
Man of constant sorrow was written in 1917. It's an iconic folk song that fans have taken seriously. It hasn't been covered often because of its vocal difficulty. Country and Folk music fans have been pretty critical of performers botching such a beloved song. The soggy bottom boys version was the best received since Bob Dylan's version. Home free blows both out of the water.
The song is very old and is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. What is amazing about this version by Home Free | Man of Constant Sorrow is that it is acapella and the musical sounds of the drums, Jew's harp, mouth harp (harmonica) and beat box are all done by two singers in the band. Watch for them.
Home Free is amazing. They do all genres of music, and are great in everyone. Check out their version of the O' Jays, Love Train, or When A Man Loves A Woman. They're all great. Nice job.
Jen Austin, man wearing Gator skin hat does a cover of "When a man loves woman". What makes it very special is that his lady sitting in front of him serenading to her while on set.
Hi Jen great reaction. I like your necklace. Say hello to your kids. You're a good mother because you left that other stuff alone and I'm clean to. God Bless you and your family. Keep grinding and be safe. Peace ✌️
Michael Winslow. Yep mad talent. Also I learned this song has been around since 1913 and was covered by a lady and renamed man of constant sorrow around 1929 I’ve watched dozens of reactions of this song,.. never gets old.
Hey Jen glad you found homefree. You should also watch Peter hollens and Tim Faust ( the bass from homefree) doing Misty mountains. They will blow your mind. Only 2 guys doing all the sounds and singing. And also helplessly hoping from homefree
HF 101: The group was formed in 2000, went full-time in 2008, and won the "Sing-Off" TV competition in 2014. In the group shot at 2:30, the members are (L-R) tenor Rob Lundquist, baritone Adam Chance, tenor Austin Brown, beatboxer Adam Rupp, and bass Tim Foust. Rupp rarely sings, but the other four all have wide enough ranges to cover any of the four voices.
Welcome to the rabbit hole where we welcome all new comers and it's getting crowded up in here, I love it. Be sure you buckle up and keep all hands and feet inside the ride at all times on your journey and prepare to have your 🤯
Welcome to Home Free. They literally have hundreds of songs that are awesome. If you like this beatboxer, Adam Rupp, you should check out the video Adam Rupp Drum Solo. He goes on a 7 min drum solo to show the non-believers his true talents. World class beatboxer. Tim, their low, low, low bass - check out Peter Hollens/Tim Faust “Misty Mountains”. HF has SO many great ones, from country to traditional to R&B to funny/hilarious. Another of their best is their cover of “End of the Road” (Boyz II Men).
The song was originally written in 1913. It's an old folk song, but HF put their own spin on it, but stayed true to the core of the song. 1st tenor: Austin Brown 2nd tenor (beard & glasses): Rob Lundquist Baritone/occasional bass (and the jawsharp in the intro & outro): Adam Chance (goes by Chance because if another Adam in the group) Beatboxer/2nd tenor when he DOES sing & co-founder: Adam Rupp This was filmed near Chance's family home in Alabama. Adam Rupp is a 2X world champion beatboxer voted as such by other beatboxers and judges in competitions. He didn't learn how to beatbox until he was in college with his brother Chris (former member who went on to a solo career & hand picked his replacement Chance). They don't only do country/bluegrass. They have done some R&B (Boyz II Men's End of the Road) & When a Man Loves A Woman. They have over 150 vids on YT. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. They each have their own YT channels in addition to the band's channel. People will recommend to react to Mayday but PLEASE DO NOT do that one until you are familiar with each member's vocals (at least 7-8 vids in). If you want to hear tight harmony & blending Helplessly Hoping. If you want to laugh your butt off (most of their stuff is funny), Butts Remix that covers several genres in one vid. Friends in Low Places. If you want to do a "double reaction" do their Sing-Off cover of Ring of Fire then their cover of Ring of Fire feat Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix. IMO there is some symbolism @ the very end of that vid. 😉 The guy from Police Academy that you were trying to remember is Michael Winslow. For Adam, check out his vid Adam Rupp's drum solo (the earliest one is with him wearing a red plaid shirt). He has done some since then as well. They ALL can beatbox though. There's vids of them doing so in a live version of 9-5 Beatbox Breakdown.
My favourite is How Great Thou Art. The harmonies in that song are fantastic. I get chills every time - and I have listened to that song more than a hundred times ...
I’m an old rock guitar my favorite songs has been for a long time. I remember when it first came out a long time ago and are such a great help me song. Thanks for giving us the attention you have dear you have a nice day. PS it’s an old blue grass country song
Well, you have done it now! You have awakened the Home Fries🤣🤣 The "Butts Medley" really let's you see the fun side of them...along side their amazing talent!
That mechanical sound is the sound of an ozark harp and I'll tell ya he's spot on, all us country folks love that sound, you hear it played alot in bluegrass music, I love this group and your reaction, so I'll have to subscribe
That was Chance (Adam Chance) in the dark vest using harmonic overtone singing to sound like a jaw harp, and the baritone. Adam Rupp did the harmonica, drum sounds and record crackle and such. Tim Foust is the bass. Austin Brown is the initial lead and Rob Lundquist took the second lead.
Oh, welcome to the rabbit hole that is Home Free. Tim Foust is their bass singer, and he has a 5-Octave vocal range (A0-A5); he's amazing! The Beat Boxer is Adam Rupp; the dude singing lead in this was Austin Brown, their High Tenor. The dude with the beard is Rob Lundquist, their lead Tenor, and the dude doing the sounds at the end is Adam Chance; they call him Chance. He is their baritone and fill-in bass when Tim sings lead.
The song itself (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") was originally written in 1913 by Dick Burnett and recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928. Several versions of the song by Bob Dylan, by Joan Baez, by Barbara Dane, by Judy Collins, by Peter, Paul and Mary. It regained popularity after being featured in the 2000 film O Brother, Where Art Thou? staring George Clooney.
The two artists I listen to the most are Tom MacDonald and these guys.Your TM reactions are awesome and I am overjoyed you found these guys.Whats cool is Home Free's rabbit hole maybe deeper than Tom's.Looking forward to your future reactions to both artists. Now you can be a HOG Homefry.Thats what followers of Home Free call themselves.Great group of people like HOG.

I Just subbed for Home Free. They are the best thing on this planet!!!! Love them to pieces. Your reaction was great just about the same one I had when I first saw them. Spin the wheel any one of their 150+ songs are awesome.
Love Home Free last two weeks a lot of reactors doing many Home Free songs. Love them all especially when A Man Loves A Woman. Also, watched behind the scenes of Home Free with Lee Greenwood? And the US Navy Honor Choir Singing God Bless America - it went virtually during the pandemic a yr ago. It is Lee Greenwood version and he invites them in studio during pandemic both behind the scenes and live full edition absolutely breathtaking. It was posted all over FB. Love Home Free subscribed to them and to Adam lead singer channel Adam Chance . These guys and Harry Mack were all over utube reactions channels last few weeks! I am late finding both of them but, sure glad I did. The look on your face when he gets the low. bass. Sorry don’t know all of their names ! Keep them coming. Jen you will be really touched by When A Man Loves A Women step aside Phil Bolton !
I've watched a lot of Reaction videos over the last year or so. I just found "Home Free" yesterday and I have watched about 10 reactions to this song... *YOURS IS THE VERY BEST REACTION I HAVE SEEN FOR ANY SONG/GROUP THAT I HAVE SEEN FROM THE START !* Liked/Subscribed !
Front row left to right Rob Lundquist lead tenor, Austin Brown sky high tenor and Tim Foust bass. Back row Adam Chance baritone goes by Chance and Adam Rupp the vocal percussionist. Enjoyed watching your reaction.
The way he plays the harmonica is with his nose. Just hum the notes with your mouth shut and your hand in the same place. You'll start imitating him and you end up getting the technique to hmm hnmmmmm hmmm hm ❤️
Jen you make me smile. I am from a dirty past and I understand a lot of stuff you talk about. I just want to say, I know I couldn’t take very much of you face-to-face, but you’re beautiful in your soul and I love you. Stay the course.
Home Free is a wonderful "rabbit hole" to get into. They have a vast catalog of songs, from Country, to covers of Boyz to Men and everything in between. They can bring you to tears, or make you laugh your ass off. Yes, they are a special group of Gents. They are technically exceptional, and yet they don't take themselves to seriously either. Enjoy the ride. ;-)
Hey Jen, just wanted to mention.. the guy from Police Academy was Michael Winslow, and I actually had one of his comedy albums. He did stand up for a while, and you can find his stuff here on YT. Great reaction on Home Free. These guys got it all! 😄👍
My Jen, Homefree has many as do VOICE PLAY, GEOFF is their bass, My Mommy told me, Misty Mountain, and a whole bunch more. Your looking goooood as always. Thank you.
The bass for Homefree Tim Foust, this was film in Alabama check out FOLSOM PRISON BLUES, Voice Play has busy lately, loosing 2 members, and picking up one or two but coming up with a bunch of sounds, Geoff has a few by himself, but respects Tim from Homefree, and Avi from PTX. Homefree also does Ring of Fire, Avi joins them, and hold on 2 bass's. Again, thank you..
Home Free. They've turned me into a man of constant listening. 3:50 I remember this guy from Police Academy. For example the scene where all the recruits are standing in formation and every step of the officer seems to sound like his boots are bags full of rusty nails.
You spoke about haveing a past . I to have one . I am a life long biker and lived a black life for a long time . Something happend to me that changed me and I am not the same man I was . You are a joy to watch and God bless you
Hello Jen. Glad that you found Home Free. You are now a home fry (that’s what we call ourselves ) and I also belong to the Nightwish Army. Greetings from Alabama 😎
The sound Chance was making is like a Jaw Harp. Also called a Jew's Harp. An old musical instrument. Man of Constant Sorrow is an old traditional American folk song from 1918. I'm a midwest farm boy (southern Ohio) with my mother's roots in eastern Kentucky mountains who moved to Texas in 73, finished HS, and left in 75. Been a lot of places and ended up back in South Texas back in 96. Quite eclectic in music tastes. Bluegrass, hard rock, jazz, world music, etc.. Dua Lipa, Led Zepplin, Electronica, Middle Eastern, and on. Good on ya for reacting to different genres. I've yet to see anyone react to Home Free that doesn't become a Home Frie for life. Now if this part offends anyone, suck it up. Seeing and hearing the reactions seemingly every woman has to hearing Tim Foust's bass for the first time. Like swoon to near orgasm. I can imagine some enterprising woman out there figuring out how to fit a Bluetooth subwoofer into a dildo and piping Tim's bass to it. Especially when he ends a song with that earth-shaking super low note. C'mon. You the ladies have thought of that. Hell, I'd get one for my woman and just watch her in ecstasy. I'm secure. And, Jen. You were right on the Chris Stapleton' Tennesse Whisky video. A man should let his woman know she is something special and show her in all those little ways that add up to much more than the occasional grand gesture.
YES! We're getting Jen into Home Free! Welcome to the rabbit hole. The guy doing the jaws harp is NOT the beat boxer. He's just awesome. So is the bass. So are Austin and Rob (tenors). Home Free is amazing. I want to see you watch the "Butts remix".
Yes, they are all multi-talented, and all quite good looking! (I'm so happy to see you subscribed to their channel.) You will be advised to listen to many different songs. All are great!
An amazing Home Free video is their cover of U2's Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, they gathered around 300 people all online to sing with that and some wizard was able to mix all those separate tracks and it sounds brilliant
@@rosebudliness Peter Holland is amazing, I discovered him through his collab with Vincent from 10 Second Songs, Peter has an amazing voice, was stoked to see him collabing with Home Free!
Yep I found him through homefree ! Misty mountains cold with Peter and Tim from homefree is absolutely brilliant, just both their voices layered about 100 times is awesome ! . Peter Hollens.. typo 😅

The way he plays the harmonica is with his nose. Just hum the notes with your mouth shut and your hand in the same place. You'll start imitating him and you end up getting the technique to hmm hnmmmmm hmmm hm ❤️
'Ring of Fire' should be your next review of Home Free. Deep Bass and all of these guys are lead singers.
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask...have you ever checked out Heart's tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors doing Stairway To Heaven? Amazing!
Home Free did a cover of "American Pie" with Don Mclean. It's outstanding!
Rob (Nice Beard Guy) absolutely slays "End of the Road". You will love it.
Enjoy the ride. ;-)
Crazy good group .... AWESOME
Oh i'll have a great reaction suggestion next month. lol
Hey Jen, just wanted to mention.. the guy from Police Academy was Michael Winslow, and I actually had one of his comedy albums. He did stand up for a while, and you can find his stuff here on YT. Great reaction on Home Free. These guys got it all! 😄👍
Jen, these guys are so good! I'm glad you think so too.
Another fantastic group is VoicePlay. You like Tim Fousts' bass voice. Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay also has a melt butter bass voice so smooth.
I’ve seen couple reactions on this video and I got to say you’re the best like in that rocking that bandanna to be safe out there🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😎👍🏻
My Jen,
Homefree has many as do VOICE PLAY, GEOFF is their bass, My Mommy told me, Misty Mountain, and a whole bunch more.
You love the deep voice, his name is Tim Foust.
Check out Peter Hollens Misty Mountain with Tim Foust.
They also did Sounds of Silence
Home Free. They've turned me into a man of constant listening.
3:50 I remember this guy from Police Academy. For example the scene where all the recruits are standing in formation and every step of the officer seems to sound like his boots are bags full of rusty nails.
You had me at hang on bro ha ha. Cricket, bug sound, clicking sounds you could be in this band.
(I'm so happy to see you subscribed to their channel.)
You will be advised to listen to many different songs. All are great!
this folk song actually originates from the 1920s and was popularized in the 50s by Dr Ralph Stanley (the Stanley Brothers)
The gentleman from police academy in person at a comedy club here in Springfield Missouri several years ago. He is halarious!
I have never heard this before.. this is awesome, and you have the best eyes
An amazing Home Free video is their cover of U2's Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, they gathered around 300 people all online to sing with that and some wizard was able to mix all those separate tracks and it sounds brilliant
Peter Hollens is the wizard !
@@rosebudliness Peter Holland is amazing, I discovered him through his collab with Vincent from 10 Second Songs, Peter has an amazing voice, was stoked to see him collabing with Home Free!
Yep I found him through homefree ! Misty mountains cold with Peter and Tim from homefree is absolutely brilliant, just both their voices layered about 100 times is awesome !
. Peter Hollens.. typo 😅
@@rosebudliness Agreed, those two are like peanut butter and chocolate, brilliant pairing lol
@@blainemcgovern perfect comparison! Lovely chatting tonight. I’m off to bed it’s 1am here 😁 good night, sleep easy 😊
