This march is called "le Régiment de Sambre et Meuse". It is from the region of Loraine, France.
We sang it in Verdun in my Regiment. It is often used for military parades. Great job High Schoolers! Pierre Corbasson, French Teacher

Merci!, Je l'avais déjà entendu à la radio, je l'avais aussi trouvé très belle mais là, elle est magnifique et soulève une bouffée d'émotions. Vous savez y faire mes frères.

This march is call " LE REGIMENT DE SAMBRE ET MEUSE " ; Sambre et Meuse was a french departement (between county and state) near north of France, actualy in Belgium, province de Namur.
So, this march is french and also belgian march.

@@germouchel549 Not Belgian because Belgium didn't exist in eighteenth century.

I was a trumpet player in this band. I played all four years and graduated in 2011 from Patrick Henry High School. Made a lot of good friends in band and will always remember the great times I had. I sometimes wish I could go back..

Great march, great band. When PH High opened I was in the band over at Granite Hills HS. Lots of my friends went over there. But I love French marches, its in my heritage!

Nice uniforms (costumes?). Very well played. Plus, not often do you see bassoons or bass clarinets in a marching band.

The judges always used to love our marching bassoon (or was it an oboe I cant remember lol). She was a good friend and in my graduating class. And yea we had the sweet Patriot outfit instead of the traditional Marching band uniform because we were the Patrick Henry "Patriots"

Beautiful band. It's funny to see an American band plays a french tune of military music Sambre et Meuse. It's looking good and very well played. Congratulations High Schoolers. 👍😎😉

The most famous french march "Sambre et Meuse" ! Superb marching band with drums at front side, french style. In France, big drums sound only when the left foot touches ground ! From France, congratulations to all,

This is NOT the most famous FRENCH march. What is played when the FRENCH President arrives at the saluting pedestal at the very start of the day? Not "Sambre et Meuse", it is the "Marche de la Garde Consulaire à la Bataille de Marengo". The tune that has always been played at the National Défilé.

Great song and awesome drum major but there are two ways to play this piece, one like this video and the other like the famed Ohio state and their script Ohio which is awesome beyond measures!

After the Auld alliance with Scottidh, it seems that Irish took a french military march (Sambre et Meuse), is that to put that on the usual opposition with the English, the best frenemies of the French ;) Whatever, very great interpretation of this french march.

I had a feeling they were hiding their real drum section. It started off as it should have been with Rope Tensioned Drums giving the rich deep tone of Skin head on the snare drums and bass drums but after the intial cadence which was proper for the time, (Patrick Henry Revolutionary period using skin head drums in that period), the band struck up the Nationale Defile Marsche and the give a way was that this band had the precussion part rested from the front drummers by hidden drummers 2/3rd of the way back in the ranks playing modern drums with plastic heads. Dead Give Away. That killed it for me.

This march evoked a strong memory. Back when I was a lad, and tv was black and white, there was a weekly series centered around a small group of English speaking French Legionaries. It was in the same vein as Wyatt Earp or the Rifleman but the antagonists were probably Algerians. This march covered the opening or closing credits. I have not heard it since. Thank you for sharing.

I'm french and that you said is true. Say you are patriot is not good for You . No volontary of intégration of more foreigners so différents and vice versa. Is there one FRANCE, France is overlays
We have think that these people only for their hands whithout think the future and for new one think France is country of abundance.
French schoolers said are tired, programs go to ligth. D'not ask to do defile that it's tiredwork and facist. Je suis un mauvais français

et plus folkloriques dans le sud de la Belgique les marches napoléoniennes.
