I've heard people describe him as the B-plot. Back in ARR we were the frontline primal slayer, he was the backup. Now that we're away on the First he's had to step up and be the frontline guy. And his friendship almost brotherly relationship with Alphinaud is very sweet. As Alisaie said, Alphinaud didn't befriend other boys if he didn't think he'd be the one in charge in the relationship, but with Arenvald it was different. 29:00 Ga'bu is a child. He was a child whose parents were abducted by his own people so he took the courageous step to approach his people's enemies to save his parents. They went full in with the "Tiny Tim"-esque voice.
Can't say I disagree with most of your placements in this. Though I would have put Arenveld a little higher. What you may have missed is that he starts off as another 'Hoary Boulder' type extra NPC as far back as ARR. So he's been with us a long time. He's one of those characters that has a decent story of his own, but moreso is there to bring out things in other characters. In this case being another big brother to Alphi, and being the connection to Fordola. What Arenvald brings out in the growth of Alphi and Fordola, as well as his own personal battle is what rates him higher for me. BTW you missed Fordola. Bad steamer! Unsubbed
My hot take: I personally don't rate Elidibus that highly precisely because of how long he's been hanging around. It's pretty clear they didn't really know what they were doing with him. Execution of the ShB patches stuff was great, but they kind of had to go "ehh he went mad or something idk" to brush aside everything since ARR 🤷♀️
Elidibus and Emet kinda peak. Ancients kinda peak! Great tier list. But I would suggest to rate the characters not on how much they did in this expansion, but the story as a whole. Because whole of FFXIV is one continuing story.
Side characters where all ok but nothing wow, i played shb current and i dont really remember tesleen other that the meme moment and most of the suport cast is just there, not living an impression. however the scions remained and the villain, the rest tbh i kinda don't remember that they did. then again its been 5 years for me now...

While Emet might get pushed to A in my rankings only because despite being a fantastic villain, plot mover, and hilarious at times...he really did some awful sh**. And when Yshtola said "wouldnt we do the same?" I was like Um Id def stop short of genociding whole planets 😂 Great video! See you in EW!

Sorry to do it, but as soon as I heard "Watch time", I stopped the video, hit thumbs down, then proceeded to post this and not bother with the rest of the video. I've been subscribed to you since you first started FFXIV, but any time I hear anyone on YT talk about analytics, watch time, or any of the other behind the curtain things, I shut down. Its bad enough we get bombarded with clickbait, stalling, and padding video times to stroke the algorithm and entice mid rolls, but I don't want to hear people actually say they are doing it.
Yep cause all streamers and video makers on UA-cam are here purely for your entertainment. Not to try and support themselves, or receive some kind of compensation for all the time and effort they put in to making the videos or streams. Not to try to grow their audience in order to make a success of themselves or help more people see their content. They should all ignore the facts of how YT promotes and suggests videos, so that their work can be buried in a sea of cat videos and mindless pranks, never to be seen.
