In this jazz guitar lesson I'm going to be showing you, how to use pentatonic jazz guitar scales, to create beatiful and modern sounding guitar licks over 2 5 1. I'll explain the theory and formulas of mixing Pentatonic scales to get a rich sound and cover all important notes. The advantage is you can still play your pentatonic licks, you already know, but have a more modern sound.
I'll show you the Pentotonic over 2 5 1 chord progression. We'll apply everything you've leaned in the short II V I theory to Pentatonic jazz licks.
I'll teach you how to play the Pentatonic jazz guitar all over the fretboard.
This way it will be easy for you to play a great Pentatonic jazz guitar solo guitar in no time.
You'll learn how to apply the Pentatonic shifting jazz formuals and use them for Pentatonic over II V I guitar licks.

Thank you! Yes, I'm a German native speaker. As for the Dm7b5, you would need to use a different scale. Dm7 and Dm7b5 are not compatible.

Hi Sandra, I came over your channel few years ago as a side trip to what i usually play just to learn your arrangement of Autumn leaves. And I got stuck . Can I challenge you to make a lesson of a more modern jazz song for a change? I would love to learn how to play “ Moon over the Bourbon Street” by Sting...
I sure love that song. The only problem with popular songs is, that I get a copyright claim whenever I do a video. I had it happen with Beatles, etc.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Yeah, that copyright shit sucks :-( however there might be a possible exemption ,: Copyright Office, cites Section 110, which allows for “performance or display” of copyrighted works for educational purpose” and to this there is also a quote from vice president of legal affairs for ASCAP that says “Performing a song live to demonstrate technique during a music class would fall under this exception,” Of course, those are serious things and I just found this while searching the net so by no means it’s a verified legal advise :-)
