Elegy on a melody sketch by Beethoven (1820, Biamonti 726)

- The tune for this wonderful melancholic Elegy is a rather unknown melody sketch by Beethoven from May 1820 among sketches for the great E-Major sonata op. 109! I wrote this after my friend Armando from www.lvbeethoven.it introduced me to it and asked me whether I would do an orchestration of it what I joyfully did. Actually I feel that the theme sounds more like Mendelssohn than Beethoven, but in the middle I put out the Beethovian flavour of the theme - I hope you will enjoy it ...

The recording was done with the strings from musescore 4 and the winds from www.noteperformer
Beautiful work Gerd! I’ve been meaning to ask you something. What are your thoughts on Beethoven’s unfinished 6th Piano Concerto from 1815? (Hess 15). If possible, I would really like to see you attempt a completion of it and maybe even write a second and third movement!
Thank you for your nice words, but I think the way it already has been completed is indeed wonderful, and I certainly cannot do it any better --> ua-cam.com/video/30tfq5UNMZU/v-deo.html or even better: ua-cam.com/video/VsdUrrkYg1I/v-deo.html
I know. Maybe someday someone (doesn’t have to be you) can write a second and third movement to it.
Hi, Ryan, see my new project of another unfinished Beethoven concerto: ua-cam.com/video/YCx24bDAAME/v-deo.htmlsi=h9IL3QBoFcIowtKx
@@gerdprengel7616 Wow! That's a really beautiful work! Such a shame Beethoven never completed it...
