I wasn't looking at the screen when you said "as i spill a little tea" so for a second i was like "ooh what's he gonna tell us" 😂 I guess this song just brings out ALL the double entendres.
The string section was very akin to UK band "Soul II Soul" , of which Shep Pettibone acknowledged, stylistically, in a remix of "Keep It Together" from her Like A Prayer album and that style of dance music was also something Nelle Hooper, one of the producers of her next album and Soul II Soul, that Madonna wanted to embrace
Ok.. so on one hand this song is hilarious! Your reaction was great! When you started this album, I couldn't wait for you to get to this song. The song itself is really good! Musically it's damn good! Always been a favorite of mine from this album. The sex positive message is good too. Madonna does have a good sense of humor and the way she wrote the lyrics shows that. Very clever. It's a fun song, and very pleasing to listen to.
First, my life was set to Madonna's music. Literally. Erotica was my sexual awakenings album. So perfectly timed. I like how you saw it as a sex positive song. Women didn't have this back then. I think that's why I'm so open-minded. I attended Madonna's School of Life Lessons.
First off, my initial comment was about the track, i hadn't seen your actual reaction, but having done so i must say it was hilarious and fascinating in equal measures. Madonna is in her A Game here, as she is talking about something she is more than comfortable about talking about and most heterosexual, red blooded males are happy to brag about but when a woman wants to talk about it from their POV, including expectations, boy, is that scary! Madonna on Top Form. And yes, that's a double entendres 😉
Was waiting for your realization and it didn't disappoint... HEHE. I definitely think this sexually implicit phase of her career was influenced by Prince as he also mixes humor with his sexual songs. The strings in the chorus also sounds like the popular song Keep On Movin' by Soul II Soul.
One of 4 songs co-written by André Betts, with a more lo-fi jazz feel to it. The direction she kind of moves towards her next album, recruiting Nellee Hooper who had a trip-hop vibe having produced Massive Attack, but i digress, this was a nice diversion from the dance floor House tracks by Pettibone.
She's Brilliant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great prodution, big sense of humor.
Dita is everything.
"Can you make a fire without using wood" Oh Madonna you clever bird you haha!
Good reaction.👍🏼 I really like this track, including the lyrics and instrumental.
It was also cool that you got Madonna's sense of humor.

Best initial reaction ever.

Another tune that brings out strong nostalgia of the 90s, taking me straight back to Kudos! 🙃

Don't forget the ballads of this album was by Shep (Bad Girl, Rain, In this Life) and was very RnB.
@@WCD199317 indeed. But the André Betts tracks were on a whole new level
Some clever, double entendres here, just the right side of crude... Just
"On the nose." They write themselves.

It's a bit ambiguous. What's it really about M ?
