Hello! I'm a DJ of many different styles who's been mixing since '98. That said, I listen to many genres both electronic and non, including acid techno, acid trance, progressive trance, psybient, gabber/hardcore, synth-pop, pop rock, vocal pop, funk, punk rock, ska/ska-punk, hip-hop, classical, jazz, reggae, score/soundtrack, heavy metal, and a few other miscellaneous categories. I also do reaction videos for both electronic and "normal" music. So keep an eye out for a constant stream of video mixes, Ambient Excursions, reactions, audio mixes taken from my Soundcloud account, video explorations of my vinyl collection, and eventually some guest appearances from techno folks near and far.

Shnootz Watchalong - Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, Episode 1 - The Shores of the Cosmic Ocean
Merry Christmas, folks! I'm back with a very special treat, and one that I can barely contain my excitement about. Indeed, people who've been here on my channel for a while will know what a big fan of Carl Sagan I am (I sample him in many of my trance and ambient/psybient mixes), and his original Cosmos: A Personal Voyage series (shot in the late 1970s, and originally airing in 1980-81) was the beginning of that appreciation for me. So to celebrate the holidays, I'm kicking off a watchalong of this beautiful, precious, and wonderfully compelling science-series, and my plan is to do one of these a month, which means we'll watch the final episode next Christmas (as there are 13 episodes total). So join me for arguably the most inspiring program I've ever seen in my life, and probably will ever see. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and RIP to the legend Carl Sagan. Cheers!

Merry Christmas, folks! I'm back with some Christmas-morning reactions, and we begin with the first of two from the King's College Choir, namely their rendition of "I Saw Three Ships," a shorter and perhaps lesser-known carol, but one I enjoy a lot since I was a kid (it's included on Nat King Cole's Christmas album, so I heard it many times growing up right on into the present). OK, while we all know about Phil Spector and how he ended up, he was a genius producer so you can't really overlook his work here. The whole album this is on, A Christmas Gift For You From Philles Records/Phil Spector, is a total classic. Ronnie Spector was meant to record this but couldn't give him the emotion in her vocal he was looking for. Personally I think Motown and Spector's Wall of Sound production were quite separate and distinct. The record label name was taken from joining the names of Phil and his label partner Lester Sill. Anyway, it's a fantastic track.
What a lovely voice and a beautiful arrangement!
the ghost of Christmas future he looks like a very judgemental jowa
In the film the Father has just got a job promotion so they will be moving to New York and leaving their lives in St. Lois behind. This song is sung to her 5 year old sister on Christmas Eve. So it is a song tinged with melancholy and sadness, but also optimism, saying let's deal with the present, think about the future later. Apparently the original lyrics had to be changed as they were too downbeat. A wonderful singer, her voice often betrays her own sadness and you can hear that here. Judy had a complicated and tragic life. First put on the stage at the age of 2, later a Hollywood starlet made insecure about her looks and talent, fed pills and kept on constant diets, to keep her thin. Her illness was addiction and she died of an unintentional overdose in 1969, aged 47. She was a gay icon, though less so now but in gay parlance people still refer to other gay men as a "friend of Dorothy", or to a good friend as "my good Judy".
Great work Cap'n Shnootz. Aciiiiiiiid!
Transform-o! The Chancellor improved his appearance! Cifer my beloved! While Marle and the King have their heart to heart, the members of the court are passing around handkerchiefs. All have been defeated: Ozzie, Mother Brain, Spekkio, the rat with the pink diapers & Queen Zeal. The Queen even gave us the royal finger! A cup of water before the final battle…he finally ran out of tea! Lavos didn´t even give you a big fight, as if he knew he wouldn´t stand a chance! What a ride!! This was another great playthrough with stunning music, thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for putting up this one for my "White Christmas" comparative study. 😁 I am afraid I will have to give the Andy Williams version the first place in my preference. I can perfectly understand that this was the version you heard more often and throughout many Christmases in your life, so it probably has become the "standard" rendition to you. But the way Mathis extends the lines (too much for me), the way he sings some words ("Christmases" at 2:43 sounds very weird to me), the way the beginning of the lines often sound "out of time" to me (just like "Just like" 😁 at 1:39) makes it all sound a bit awkward to my ears. It also sounds slower and a bit "plodding". His vibrato annoys me a bit, too. And, overall, I much prefer Andy Williams's voice, and I think his singing is more expressive and "natural" (Mathis sounds too "linear" to me, like he isn't highlighting any words but just focusing on the sound of his voice). 🤷♀Maybe I need some time to get used to Mathis's "awkward" delivery of words and lines. 😜
Happy Christmas Matt 🎄. This is a lovely, emotional song. I watched Meet Me in St. Louis on tv yesterday. The song never fails to bring tears to my eyes 😢. See you tomorrow for Hana Yori Dango 😊.
Oh, so maybe this was the first song you ever heard in your life? 😁 In fact, the song strikes me as particularly appropriate on the occasion of a birth because, as you are probably aware, Navidad in Spanish means Nativity, in a direct reference to the birth of Jesus (like the Portuguese word for Christmas, "Natal", which has even a broader meaning relative to birth in its more common usage). So, given the context of a maternity ward, it brings to my mind the double meaning of "Happy Christmas" and "happy birth". 😊 What a cute elephant mug. 🤗 Did I tell you I love elephants?
A joy to sing as well as to listen to. Happy holidays!
It’s this one and Karen’s merry Christmas darling, and even bings white Christmas that are must hears for the holidays for me.. longing, nostalgia and hope for homecomings
For fun! Labyrinth! Bowie is in it as goblin king!😊❤😊
Bings Christmas!😊❤😊
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 Matt!😊
So many Christmas goodies today, and so little time! But I had to listen to this one. There is a sadness to this one, but it is a beautiful song, and what can you say about the Hollywood icon Judy Garland? One of the loveliest voices and her vibrato makes this an emotional performance. I don't know the movie Meet Me in St. Louis well enough, but I know she is singing this to comfort a young girl in the scene. Maybe someone out there can fill in the scene for us and give us the proper context for the song. Merry Christmas to you, Matt, and to everyone following his channel and beyond. I wish you all love, peace and happiness! 🎄🎅🦌And a New Year filled with MUSIC! 😃
It´s nice to finally see this show after hearing so many quotes of Mr. Sagan in your Ambient mixes. The music is magnificent and the 7th symphony was such a nice surprise! The Sun is middle aged - I´m in good company, lol. I like how all these complicated matters are explained in a simple way. I especially enjoyed the part about Alexandria & Syene and the lentgh of the shadows!! The computer animations, especially with Mr. Sagan walking around the library of Alexandria, are quite impressive for the late 70s! I´m very much looking forward to the remaining episodes!
„Happy campers - enjoy the sauce!“. I was waiting for the Dnyarri to open a beer, he had the voice of a party animal. It took me a little while to remember that it´s the "sign language" frog from the first part! The ginger Syreen got the job done! "Didn´t you mean to ask about flowers" is the demo version of "Why don´t you bring me flowers", which is the song the Captain got serenaded with by the Commander. If the Kohr-ah want to destroy all intelligent races, the humans should be save.... Wimp, Fool, Moron, Jerk - the Pkunk came up with a nice ride. The Captain´s knee, LOL! Eat this, Ur-Quan, Kohr-ah and Sa-matra, it was an epic battle!! This was a great playthrough - all praise to Captain Shnootz!!! And I will miss hearing the Melnorme say „What can we do for you today, Captain?“! 🌌
A beautiful rendition of a lovely Christmas Carol!
Beautiful carol and amazing voices. No accompanying music needed!
It´s just an absolutely stunning piece of music!! This is used in video game music? Marvellous!

one of my all time favs, exquisite melody, Iva Davies is a national treasure, pure genius
I have heard this one before, but it's a tune that doesn't get anywhere near as much play as others. It is a cute song elevated by the Andrews Sisters vocal harmonies. Nice to hear one out of the ordinary, Matt! Have a good day tomorrow!
Another classic! An impassioned performance! Great sax solo, but besides the vocal, what I like best is the percussion. Those drums beats at the end of one line carrying into the next are so good! A rocking Christmas tune and total blast from the past.
The full Rudolph special recently aired for its 60th anniversary... and that makes me.... YIKES! The funny thing about the Silver and Gold sequence is all the critters decorating the trees are using ornaments in colors other than silver and gold, but it's still a nice song. Burl Ives as Sam the Snowman along with other great characters and songs make that stop-motion special such an enduring classic. "Ready, Santa!"
"Ah--HA!!" It certainly does sound like Jose was having fun doing this and that makes it fun for everybody! The bright guitar and horns and the simple repetition of the lyrics make it an instant sing along. And I agree that the way the song pauses and then takes off with the English line "I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas" propels the song to another energetic level. And nice personal connection to this song for your Mom and you, Matt! So, how close did your parents come to naming you Jose?
This piece captures the dark, cold (without snow😔) winter atmosphere quite nicely. I love when the second violin came in. It was like a little ray of sunshine.
Oh yes, Lucca, a door handle! All the joy and freedom it can bring!! 😻 Beautiful song and I just love their voices!!
His voice and those strings are a perfect combination. The way he held those notes!! Perfection!
Santa Shnootz is on a roll! 🎅Wonderful movie!
The idiot who is commenting throughout the movie is an absolute irritant....
You should watch the video where Agnetha sings the opening whilst gazing straight into the camera. ❤
Alastair Sim did a marvelous job playing Scrooge! Oh, those mechanical dolls. Tell us, what was she holding 😇. Nice singing, Shnootz! And very appropriate lyrics, too! Even the floor on the left upper corner starts to shake when you mention Yoko Ono! (15:05). Omg, I recognized her immediately. Mrs. Cratchit is played by Hermione Baddeley. (She played Mrs. Naugatuck in Maude. "You should do something about them stairs, I almost broke me bloody bum!"). Did they use a juicy steak to make the dog suddenly run across the street and drag the bling guy behind him? Weeeee...Lol! "Come on, touch my robe." 😇 Those two children looked traumatized, having to hide under Mr. Present´s robe. Why did the kid hold that turkey like his new born baby brother? Showing his sister´s death was important to understand why and when his personality changed. And it also explains why he suddenly was so eager to visit his nephew on christmas morning. At least for me it makes much more sense now. People usually don´t change out of the blue, there is always a reason why it happened. In general, I find all of those added scenes of Scrooge´s past very intriguing. Even if it was not part of the novel, I´m glad they took this approach. The other movies suddenly feel rushed. Great riff and great jokes, Matt! 👏👏Merry Christmas! 🎁🎁
Isn't this great? Well, I think so! It's a lot of fun hearing Mel sing this jazzy version of this tune. The bass! Oh, the piano! A touch of horns. I just recently listened to Mel's Christmas Songs album, so this was new to me, and I love it. I like Mel's delivery, sliding on some notes, prolonging others, and the "scatting." I think it qualifies as scat (hold on now, Mr. Solo!). Did he actually throw in a shoo-be-doo? The piano solo is the snow on the rooftop, so to speak. And a great reaction, Matt! Glad you liked it! BTW-- I never really gave this much thought, but when you mentioned this song being used in various versions of A Christmas Carol, of which I have seen many, the significance finally hit me of using this tale of the good king and his page, whom I'll call Patsy, why not, taking "bread, wine and pine logs" to a poor man contrasted with the rich and miserly Scrooge. 💡Well, DUH! I guess it's partly due to me only paying so much attention to this song's lyrics in the first place, and this rendition by Mel is far and away my favorite! Merry Christmas!
Forget the music, let's talk about Jerry O'Connell!

Another classic!. This brings back childhood memories of "the police nabbed my dog". Hope that's not offensive these days I can't keep up with what is okay to say. No disrespect intended just a funny childhood memory.
Your childhood memory is better than my "I've got fleas on my dog." Either way, that poor dog! A very Merry Christmas to you!
Alison wrote this and they recorded it after they had already decided to go separate ways. Think about this….they made a demo that became a huge hit (Only you) and were rushed into forming a band and making an album which did phenomenally well because they had such great creative chemistry - but they barely knew each other. They were performing on Too of the Pops together just weeks after meeting. This song was their goodbye to Yazoo and each other.
"Merry Christmas, The Shitter Was Full".
Both Kim and I are still devastated that you didn't react to the Christmas episode of Bottom.
