I love your lead work, but when you are playing backup rhythm, I am watching your playing, it really amazes me how you lay down that groove. Thanks for the teachings.
travelbydragonfly I’ll have to check him out... couple of guys in the UK that are worth a look are Scott Mckeon & Chris Buck.. 2 fantastic players! There’s so much to take from the way these guys play
Kirk Fletcher and Johnny Hiland are two of a kind; humble and awesome players, we need more people like them in this world. awesome video and thanks for sharing such a precious moment.
Kurt i'm so f and glad you said you found and FELL IN LOVE with a BEAUTIFUL. "LADY ' ,WOMAN, FEMALE ,GIRL , BROAD , DAME, CHICK , BETTY , so yeah .THANX from the only LOGICAL WAY OF LIVING ...HETAROFANS every where.
The world needs more humble and talented musicians like this guy who l just discovered. Notice how l said "humble" before saying "talented". Both important but being humble makes your talent shine more. I've had to learn to be humble over the years and it makes a difference.
What a great representative for modern blues. Listening to Kirk play and talk about his love of music is quite inspirational. Young players could get so much out of his instruction. Not to mention the inspiration he gives an old guy like myself to play the blues with the same conviction I had when I was young and blues was new to me. Thank you, Kirk and True Fire.
What a quality player. Who wouldn't love having those chops in your rythmn section. Your playing is inspiring and infectious. Thanks for your talent Kirk. You're awesome man 😊
Wow TrueFire, Matt Schofield, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, 3 of the best current blues players around. Can't wait for release of Josh & Kirk's courses, already working on Matt's, thanks!
Really looking forward to this one, I've played a lot of Matt S style after seeing him live in the UK many times, been playing a lot of Josh S lately too. Kirk however, being a B.B King inspired player that I am, this course by Kirk is right up my street, can't wait!!!! You just need Aynsley Lister to provide a course now :)
When he first mentioned the significance of a great rhythm part, and how it propels a solo, I immediately thought of the Alman brothers. Dwayne and Dickey........
Great stuff!! Hey Truefire, you guys need to get Guthrie Trapp, easily one of the best players on the planet, to do a course or 7. When you're one of the best players in Nashville, and Guthrie is, you're one of the best - period.
I do kinda take issue with the whole 'he's a great soloist and improvisor, but can also play rhythm' attitude about the instrument. Guitar is a rhythm instrument. Good guitarists never drop the rhythm and changes regardless of what part of the neck they are playing on, or whether or not its a solo section.
anyone got an idea what thickness pick that Kirk is using? I've been using pretty thick picks for years now and working hard on getting that relaxed groove Kirk gets in this course...looks black ( the pick), that's all i can tell. I'm guessing ...1mm?
Love the bridge and turn around on that SRV inspired tune..!👍🏼❤️ I wonder if Kirk realizes how blessed he is with his touch and sense of rhythm..? It’s a hard earned gift..!!
Man i just went to listen to Michael Landau. That guy is a monster player if Kirk had not mentioned him i would have never heard of him. I am a fan of him and Kirk from now on. Oh, can't forget the man Josh Smith.
They all want a 50s les paul but few play a les paul like it was played in the 50s Thank god there are guys like fletcher who showcase how truly awesome this instrument is
Nice fellow and modest, talented guitar player. Didn't know he lives now in Europe. 633 amps are just great... but out of reach for the average musician :( Thanks for uploading the video, cheers from France
Man Kirk has some of the same mannerisms as his brother CT fletcher. I'm still trying to figure out how Ct uses profanity so much and Kirk does not and they both were raised by a God fearing Mother. I guess Ct got into the streets more.
Kirk's sound just keeps getting sweeter. No doubt this guy has worked for it. It's good to see someone who loves and works at their musical career to achieve recognition for their efforts.
Awesome Mr Fletcher
I have never seen a Les Paul look that small in a hook playing style. What a guy!!!
Kirk Fletcher just floating over the groove, such a lyrical player.
He's Kool..
Is there a nicer and more humble guy in the blues?
nope
J.D Simo, Robben Ford. many of this really great character. maybe it's the blues ...
Would Eric Bibb qualify as a contender? : )
Don t think so ;) but there are so much nice person in this area of music 🎵
He is a nice man, with great talent
I love your lead work, but when you are playing backup rhythm, I am watching your playing, it really amazes me how you lay down that groove. Thanks for the teachings.
Shout outs from Ghana, West Africa. I'm so glad to chance upon this video. Kirk Fletcher is awesome.
Kirk & Josh in the same week... just keep my wallet & cards 🤦🏻♂️
Exactly!!

Wow. There are so many blues guitarists out there flashy, jazzy, blazing, etc. But this guy is where it's at aesthetically.
He plays for the song and swings like crazy while doing it! Tasty!
Just beautiful playing. Effortless, from the heart, and his joy just comes through!!
I love when he laughs while playing. Shows he truly enjoys his work. Bravo sir

I love Kirk. He’s so nice so humble and a killer player
I love your shuffle kirk can you explain what notes you are playing, and is it in the key of E Major.
This white man is a control freak....tells Kirk what to play...and cuts off his sentences.
legend
Wow TrueFire, Matt Schofield, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, 3 of the best current blues players around. Can't wait for release of Josh & Kirk's courses, already working on Matt's, thanks!
The smiling assassin! The smiliest blues man on the planet.
Rhythm is often the lead guitar and the rhythm for a solo player.
Kirk is a class act
Enjoy watching him, humble, talented and absolutely adorable
Thanks Kirk, looking forward to this course, can't wait. Also, see you in Bristol, UK!
Didn't know they sold 3/4 Les Pauls.
Good rhythm makes people move and dance. Solo's don't.
Kirk is one of the best blues Guys around :)
Only just discovered this guy ; really fantastic player. No shredding either
Heavy Magic Slim influence there
Love your playing and your choice of backup players on your albums, especially the B3.
Just amazing stuff, great lead and Earth shakin' rhythm!
Really looking forward to this one, I've played a lot of Matt S style after seeing him live in the UK many times, been playing a lot of Josh S lately too. One of my favorite blues players! so so tasty
I'd give anything to play like you do.
Love that 'Dupree' groove rhythm... Fun, fun stuff...
Hello to all music lovers. I play mostly an acustic guitar. Whould somebody recomend some great blues players on acustic?
Here are 50 acoustic blues licks you must know! - truefire.com/acoustic-guitar-lessons/50-acoustic-blues-licks/c5
Great! When is Chris Cain going to do one?!
If I get really good I too shall find love. 🙄
Worst thing about this is the interviewer
That's what I call tasteful blues...
Great guy! Great player! A gentle soul!
Daaaaaaaaaamn.... True Fire is ON fire!!!! Man I wish true fire was around in the early 80’s when I was tryin to figure all this stuff out!!!
The talent and smile to light up any room.
Thank You Sir Kirk...much Love to you...
Great great guitarist, and seems like such a nice, real guy, and really understands & can play the style perfectly
Checking in from Pocket-stan.
This is an advanced level lesson
Sounds like little red rooster
When he first mentioned the significance of a great rhythm part, and how it propels a solo, I immediately thought of the Alman brothers.
Dwayne and Dickey........
Great player… Great dude!!
Love Kirk, super nice guy and a wonderful player :-)
Im a huge fan! Thank you!

Granbury Texas
Great stuff!! Hey Truefire, you guys need to get Guthrie Trapp, easily one of the best players on the planet, to do a course or 7. When you're one of the best players in Nashville, and Guthrie is, you're one of the best - period.
Guthrie Trapp already has country courses with Artistworks. Agreed, Guthrie is a great player and teacher.

Good guitarists never drop the rhythm and changes regardless of what part of the neck they are playing on, or whether or not its a solo section.
Embellishments, first introduction Chet Atkins, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan
Kirk es un increible Guitarrista, muy cordial, decente, siempre con una sonrisa, y dispuesto a enseñar lo que sabe.❤🎸🎸🎼
anyone got an idea what thickness pick that Kirk is using? I've been using pretty thick picks for years now and working hard on getting that relaxed groove Kirk gets in this course...looks black ( the pick), that's all i can tell. I'm guessing ...1mm?
Che bravo...........

Come back to the Sugar Mill soon
Man i just went to listen to Michael Landau. That guy is a monster player if Kirk had not mentioned him i would have never heard of him. I am a fan of him and Kirk from now on. Oh, can't forget the man Josh Smith.
Reminds me of the late great Michael Burks! Love your touch and feel! Awesomeness!!
More soul than 10,000 metal heads combined...
Great player. Natural feel. I hear many influences, but also some unique phrases. Teacher like this can make your playing fun again.
Glad he mentioned Blake Mills. He just so good songwritter, singer and on of the best guitar player right now..
They all want a 50s les paul but few play a les paul like it was played in the 50s
Thank god there are guys like fletcher who showcase how truly awesome this instrument is
Such a charming and wonderful artist his last album is a Blast ! Thanks for having him at True Fire
Love his clean tone, so tasty and stylish playing
Kirk ist jetzt schon eine lebende Legende. Er beherrscht sämtliche Facetten des Blues. Er ist phänomenal.
