My wife was in the roof next door and heard me listening to this interview. Her maiden name is Fletcher so she kept her ears open and was listening too. She summed up probably all of our feelings about Kirk when she said " I just want to be his friend". He is truly touched !! Thank you Kirk for sharing your gifts.
Easily one of the best on the planet. Great player and person. He is one of the few virtuosos that also comes across as a genuinely nice guy. If you're the best, you don't have to tell everyone, it's just true.
I love this dude. Also, man alive, he can play! But the fact that his amazing abilities as a musician always come second when I think about him after his character sure is impressive.
Jr. Watson, Hollywood Fats, Big Al Blake, Kid Ramos ...! ! love these guys. Saw all of them live so many times. It's all I wanted to do, is learn how to play swing blues like that.
great interview, I grew up very similar in the pentecostal church playing music non stop. it seemed so different compared to what other kids were doing but looking back I wouldn't trade it for anything. great vid/great person, keep it going man!
Kirk is the blues diamond more people need to know about in the US. He should be the legitimacy test for any Blues festival... it just can't be that legit without him.
Still on this week long journey so far of Ask Zac afternoon veiwing binges. I've watched this one between 12 and 15 times now..? And each time time I pick up something new, funny or inspirational. This time I got a chuckle when Kirk mentioned Pine Bluff, Arkansas being out in the country. We lived there for a short time in the mid 70s and it was country alright, and it was poor. I hadn't noticed until the first day of 2nd grade, but the kids I ran with went barefoot all summer because they had torn up or grew out of last years pair. LOL.
I cant stop watching Kirk Fletcher videos... He seems like the type of dude that would be cool to hang out with.... On top of that fluffy nice guy veneer, lies a 9th degree guitar black belt... Fascinating. So uplifting. But melts faces (on guitar) on the regular...
11.4K subs as I type. Should be 11.4 million. Get the word out folks. Zak, best interviewer ever. Puts people at ease and uncovers every topic of interest. Love it.
Kirk is the nicest guy in the whole universe! He bringed me to that clear bluesy telesound with soul between the notes. Zac, this is a wonderful day for us all! Many Thanx to you and truetone.
43:10 This is 100% true. Being from Switzerland I was shocked to see blues clubs in the US that have TV screens with sports, commercials etc. on next to the stage while the band is performing.
Wasn't aware of the channel, but UA-cam suggested this to me because Kirk is on here. Needless to say that you now have another subscriber. And the interview was just spot-on. Keep it up, man. Cheers
10/10 once again. One of the best interviewers on UA-cam with an amazing roster of musicians for him to interview. Hard to go wrong with that equation. Keep ‘em coming Zac 🤘🏼
I’m late to this; I’m gradually working through your library, Zac. What a gentleman and player Kirk is…truly inspirational. He really does remind me of George Benson in a good way. Cheers from Brisbane, Australia.
Bravo. Truly awesome, what a player who deserves all the credit he gets. A very special player / person. I think I’ll retire to the guitar cave and get my groove on. Thank you Kirk & Zac.
Kirk is fantastic. Always seems to be so happy with that trademark laugh of his. Hold On is a great album by the way. One of my favorite traveling listens.
I at least skim through all of your videos skipping ahead here or fast forwarding there but I watched every second of this one from start to finish. There is just something special about Kirk, not only can I relate to him musically but he also seems like an ole country boy like me that I could just sit down and talk to all day. Thanks for sharing and thanks Kirk!
Great interview. So glad you had him on. Kirk has such a personality that can make you happy. Love that guy and his playing. That tele is a good one too.
I met Kirk in 2006 at a small blues festival and I didn't know who he was. He had an amp that had his name on it and I asked what brand of amp it was. He said, "that's my name". "This guy made it for me". He was friendly and I loved his playing.
Thanks for mentioning Nick Curran! Kirk and Nick was my favorite line up of the T-birds with out Jimmie! I miss Nick's music so much. A great talent was on his way to becoming a legend, gone too soon!
Zac, the passion you guys talk about music is just beyond words. Kirk Fletcher is my hero, my mentor, and one of the best to ever pick up a guitar. Thank you for this truly inspiring interview! Love from Brazil, the land of nuts
Man i don't even know what to say.....or where to start. I got tons of ideas from this about style, tone, and simplicity. He is dead-on right about Fender Super Reverbs.....outstanding amps! Also being a sponge and soaking up every kind of musical style you can listen to and just drink it all in. Kirk seems like a beautiful person. I just want to give him a high five and a hug and then talk about guitars and play all night. I have run out of adjectives and nice things i can say. You both are very inspiring. Keep these interviews coming. They never, ever disappoint! Love and good vibes from Illinois to you and Kirk!
Another great interview Zac! Like so many have said Kirk seems like such a genuine, humble man in all the interviews I've seen. And a monster player to boot! Enjoyed this! Thanks!
Yet another stellar interview! Every time I watch you talk to one of my heroes you ask all the questions I would have asked and then 100 more, and then I realize I've been totally out-nerded (in the best possible way!) That Junior Watson segment was the best! I've got a wobbly C120 cassette I recorded off the BBC in the 80s of Junior with the Mighty Flyers and he's absolutely smoking! Anyway, thanks so much...again!
Well, another one under their belt, and they just keep getting better and better. And either Zac crams for his exam doing research on the artist being interviewed, or he is genuinely a guitar/music historian. I think the latter. One thought I had though is, with all the information available to young and upcoming players today, interviews like the Truetone ones should help create a richer and deeper kind of player for the future. I wish I could go back 45 years and have this at my fingertips to guide and inspire. Next!!
Thanks for another fantastically entertaining interview! I've only somewhat recently discovered Kirk through videos with Josh Smith but wow, what a player and what a personality! It's great hearing about his background and development in singing as well. Really enjoyed this, you've got a new subscriber.
My wife was in the roof next door and heard me listening to this interview. Her maiden name is Fletcher so she kept her ears open and was listening too. Top guy here !! Bless him ! And certainly one of the best today! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Plays so melodically and with nuance. He’s about the best there is right now.
Such a great human being not to mention a stellar player !
The world is a better place with Kirk Fletcher in it.
Easily one of the best on the planet. Great player and person. He is one of the few virtuosos that also comes across as a genuinely nice guy. If you're the best, you don't have to tell everyone, it's just true.
Ditto!
You've got to love Mr. Fletcher, what a talented guitarist. His modesty is humbling. Thanks for this interview !
What a talent !! He is humble and has a great attitude to his profession. A very kind and open man who is blessed !
I love this dude. Also, man alive, he can play! But the fact that his amazing abilities as a musician always come second when I think about him after his character sure is impressive.
Nice player and he has a nice personality as well.Great tone and feel. Always great interviews with Zac
He is so humble. Such an amazing player!
Kirk Fletcher is full of the Holy Spirit!
Blues master Kirk talking about Poison and C.C. Deville, Johnny paycheck and Merle being a gangsta has just made my day!
Jr. Watson, Hollywood Fats, Big Al Blake, Kid Ramos ...! ! love these guys. Saw all of them live so many times. It's all I wanted to do, is learn how to play swing blues like that.
I have been a fan of both Kirk and his brother CT for years.....having no idea what so ever that they were brothers.. when I found out it blew my mind
great interview, I grew up very similar in the pentecostal church playing music non stop. it seemed so different compared to what other kids were doing but looking back I wouldn't trade it for anything. great vid/great person, keep it going man!
Kirk is the blues diamond more people need to know about in the US. He should be the legitimacy test for any Blues festival... it just can't be that legit without him.
I LOVE Kirk's sound !!
Damn!!! I just found Kirk!!! Damn!!! Now I’m watching everything on him!!

Kirk a real nice person and awesome bluesman! Great show! Thank's!
Welcome! Zac
I’m late to this; I’m gradually working through your library, Zac. What a gentleman and player Kirk is…truly inspirational. He really does remind me of George Benson in a good way. Cheers from Brisbane, Australia.
One of the most positive happy dudes I've seen. So much for blues being sad and pitiful
Great stuff. Always the best way to not be working on my own next script. Thanks Zac! You are walking through my wish list of players.
Thanks, Keith. So glad to know you, and really enjoy five watt world. You inspire me. Zac

So good. Love Kirk Fletcher.
Us too!!
Hi Zac,
Now that was one of the very best ...so nice Reggie was mentioned .
Thank you
Graham
If mentioning Reggie in Lounge episodes was a drinking game, I would be in bad shape. In all fairness, he had such a huge influence on guitarists.
Zac
Fantastic! Such a warm cat, i love his whole vibe and chat!! X
Thank you! Zac
Kirk is one of the greats. That was awesome
He is!! And thank you. Zac

Kirk, king of the shirt.
I just bought Hold ON, and it's the third of Kirk's albums I've bought. I always try to support someone I really like to listen to.
Yes! Support the artists you love!
Great interview , great player and a decent human being whats not to like . Thank you catch you in the UK
Thank you. Zac
Kirk Fletcher on True Fire!
Well, another one under their belt, and they just keep getting better and better. Next!!
I have stacks of albums, magazines, music bios, and guitar books. It has been an obsession since I was 13. Zac
Just came across this channel. Love these interviews. Please keep them coming. Would love to see one with Josh Smith!
I would love to sit down with Josh. Zac
Thanks for another fantastically entertaining interview! I've only somewhat recently discovered Kirk through videos with Josh Smith but wow, what a player and what a personality! Another fantastic interview Zac!!!
Thank you, Mike. Zac
great guitar player...even better shirt...even better guy
So Cool-Tele Heaven !!!!
Go Kirk! Go Kirk!
YES!!
Growing up pentacostal this really was good for me
I have Hendrix's Crash Landing album. Funny to hear Kirk mention it. Kind of rare and controversial.
"Merle Haggard is Blues" You get it! I've been saying that for years.
Country and blues have always been intertwined. Listen to the guitar break on Hank Williams' My Bucket's got a hole in it. Pure Blues!!
Awesome...
Kirk so humble....
And kind.
Oh, that TONE!
That man got three pedals, and I don’t think he really used any here and it was just brilliant!!!!
There is truth to the "less is more" mindset
Awesome!
Coming soon! Zac
Worth the wait but you're still a tease!
Ha! I did not know youtube would let people know beforehand that we had set the release date to Dec 1. I guess I am a tease. Zac
Hey Zack, wish you could have Kenny Vaughn on the show! This show was great by the way!
Been talking to Kenny about this.
