Aaron Stechauner are you using the Moeller Method? It seems like you use the 3 part hit and your hands are loose. Cool if you do. Loving the flat drums to hit rims hard and your overall technique
All I gotta say is... Goddamn the new album rips! Like parallel shift brought the band to a whole new level for me and really show cases how tight ur guys writing process has gotten since last album. Love it
Man, I didn't realize until now how enjoyable this album would be all-instrumental! No hate on Ian, either; I quite enjoy the album as-is, but there's just so much detail in the music that's essentially inaudible with the vocal mix. This is one of those albums that merits both vocal and instrumental releases!
FanaticalDrummer 😂, Awwwwww, Poor Little 👶’s jealous. The perfect example of a musician whose jealous of another musician because you can’t even come close in pulling off the technicality, speed, timing, etc that Aaron can so you leave ignorant comments to lash out in your jealous rage. There is absolutely nothing monotone about his drum kits sound or the way he is playing it. Where is your badass Tech Death Band at or your Technical Drumming Video showing your skills of how a drumkit is supposed to be played??
I been listening to this for like 7 years straight ❤ you've inspired me so much and helped me through so many tough times.. these videos are some of my absolute favorite, your playing is mesmerizing.
Has anyone realized that most Rings of Saturn members are UA-camrs? Ian (vocalist) is a UA-camr, Lucas (guitarist) is a UA-camr and Aaron (you already know) is a UA-camr too.
RoS wont be the same without your style dude. Youre like an olympic snowboarder on the drums. The ease and finesse in your technique and the utter domination is just insane. Mustve been nice to compose around your skills dude. Goated
You’re insane in all aspects of your drumming. You’re cymbal work and the amount of sounds you create with only a few cymbals is mind blowing. Keep it up man coming to see you guys on march 16th. Already got a signed drum head from ya’ll mafuckas last tour and looking forward to gettin another one!
NathanDrums I might be more of a guitar player, but honestly when it comes to bass drum pedals, while axis pedals are very nice you can probably buy a better working pair for a lot cheaper. I always wanted to learn how to play drums and when I started getting into different kinds of gear, I always thought the axis pedals looked dope as fuck.
i really enjoyed it. the double bass pedal work was so smooth i started smiling every time you would get into it for more than one measure. and some great variety in fills on the toms.
@@Nobloodspills1 playing 16th notes on the kick at 250+ bpm without triggers ? Why do you think NOBODY does it ? Because it sounds like shit. Kick drums are too low and big to be heard correctly at those speeds !
Lars Ulrich approves of this video! Now, in all seriousness...this is sick! It's my fav RoS song and this playthrough makes it even better. Mad skills, bro! It's hypnotizing to watch!!!
This is the first time I've seen a playthrough you've done where it looks like you took some time with the writing for each individual part. That beginning was great tech. Hope to see/hear more like this one.
Holy shit Aaron. I like you keep your drums flat and have good posture and technique. It is lacking in metal drummers. Are you using the Moeller Method? Ur hands seem loose. Its so awesome if u are. You're on another level brah.
Lu keeping the drums flat is to hit harder and hit rimshots to make it louder. Most metal drummers have horrible technique and Aaron is like the only one who uses Moeller
That is very wrong. Plenty of Metal drummers have good technique, I've only seen a handful with bad technique, and I've seen plenty also using Moeller.
i was blown away when I first SAW you play, i had no idea the set was a 3 piece or if thats even what its called but you are definitely a talented percussionist. Keep em coming. Please tour the N.E. area??!!!!
Look up " scuffing", basically hit with your heal on right, heal on left, front right, front left. Put you weight into it and it is really hard to do slow. It should be a kind of cyclical motion! There is a good video i used to learn it on youtube =)
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but what kick/feet pattern is he using? Is he just switching back and forth between his left and right feet or doing double strokes? Again sorry if it's a dumb question but he's definitely playing very fast, yet it doesn't look like his feet are moving very fast.
Fuck dude, this is delightful. Ultu Ulla is like one of my favorite albums... just ever. This shit looks impressive for lack of time to write an essay.
It's weird to think that Lugal was programmed and was possibly like Aaron Kitchers kit(which was huge) only to have this Aaron show up with a small kit and fucking destroy on the drums.
Stay tuned for lots more! Thanks for checking it out.
Amazing! Thank you for posting this :) Im definitely going to practice some of this (the parts I can actually play) haha
Was very satisfied with the parts you wrote! Good job dude.
Aaron Stechauner are you using the Moeller Method? It seems like you use the 3 part hit and your hands are loose. Cool if you do. Loving the flat drums to hit rims hard and your overall technique
Aaron Stechauner Thanks Aaron Stechauner. You're one of my faves. Drums sound on Ultu Ulla is best of all ROS albums. Awesome live drummer to.

do you know where to find the all instrumental version?
@@dharkus I don't think a full official instrumental exists. The previous comment was just stating hypothetically
it's even better without the vocals
@@thecoolstando Yeah no instrumental version of Ultu Ulla, but thank god there is one for Gidim, cause its fucking beautiful.
not sure if you noticed but there is now instrumental versions out on major music streaming platforms.
thanks for existing
i love how minimalistic his set is
Matt van den Ham Idk. I think its boring lol. No pitch shift or audible change in cymbals really makes the music monotone.
@@FanaticDrummer Dude what? Are you deaf?
I always compliment him on killing it on a small set up!
Funny, I was gonna say he makes it sound like Neil Peart's kit...

Lmao you can see my feet under the pool table yeeeeeeee
They say his feet remain to this day

This was their best album, IMO. most musical and natural. but still RoS.
The reason I go to see these guys right here. Absolute beast!
SONG is GREAT. Thank you. The best guitar solo i've ever heard.
Rings of Saturn is delicious to listen to, ive been following all the album for yeeeeeeaaars, never disappoint
love how he uses OG Eliminators and still slays that heel toe tech! sick stuff!
Pervis McGervis especially because He seems to Chose them over axis
just goes to show you don't need to spend close to a grand to play that technique.
Axis is more like $600, and you can use a wider range of heel toe techniques on a long board.
+Pervis McGervis nope, I do it on my DW 5000's haha I've had people tell me that "YOU NEED axis or trick pedals for that" but you really don't.
NathanDrums I might be more of a guitar player, but honestly when it comes to bass drum pedals, while axis pedals are very nice you can probably buy a better working pair for a lot cheaper. God I love that snare tone you're got going on! Awesome played
As always! An incredible treat to watch you play Aaron!! Thank you for the upload 👊🏻
i really enjoyed it. the double bass pedal work was so smooth i started smiling every time you would get into it for more than one measure. and some great variety in fills on the toms.
This was just the most enjoyable, natural sounding, musical RoS album. By far my favorite. And you fucking crushed all these playthroughs.
The 4 dislikes are people who think the triggers do all the work.
I haven't disliked it... But yeah it would be even more amazing to see him do it without triggers
Triggers would be the smallest problem with this video LOL
There's no triggers that I can see. His heel toe technique is flawless and damn near perfectly timed
@@Nobloodspills1 playing 16th notes on the kick at 250+ bpm without triggers ? Why do you think NOBODY does it ? Because it sounds like shit. Kick drums are too low and big to be heard correctly at those speeds !

That's fantastic. Do you think you could do The Macrocosm play through soon?
dude its my favorite song right now. It was so well put together
HELL YES I approve, also a guitar playthrough too, Macrocosm is fucking sick
I agree such an amazing song and whole album. Miles really added a lot to them, a beast. Think it's there best album
agreed
Tiernan Moore already has!
sick snare sound! absolutely love it
@@Pungartory me too!!
Why does he change hands on the initial blast beat pattern?
Also why is their a person hiding under the pool table?
Vega TDM because at those speeds it's like he alternates his hands in a "1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4" motion. Easier for timing and rythym, I'd assume.
Why arent you hiding under a pool table? Huh? Huh? Huh?
he's been doing this type of blast beat for years live, idk why you noticed only now
Никита Лубин didnt he just join ros?
It has to do with his style of play. I can't remember what it's called but notice how he almost never crosses his hands.
Hell yeah Aaron get it on them drums dude you are one of the best
So Insane! Kit sounds so great!!
I love this so much. You're my favorite drummer and I love you and the rest of the band
Your drumming makes me feel... inadequate ;)
This song is beautiful. So is the rest of the album. Keep doing your thing man you look like you're having a blast
Love your videos. Recently was shown the band by a friend and I fell in love. Can't wait to buy the new album
I don't know why but unlike everyone else I find that the snare sound is very satisfying.
The rawest drummer out right now hands down this man is on fire!
I watch these vids so much holy shit
oh look I'm back again lol
again
Pootie182 lmao I thought i was the only one
Same
i come back all the time because these playthroughs are my fav, i got so much love and respect for you dude.
great band and great drummer, great discovery for me.
i can't wait to see what song he does next, my god...you are a tank 🤘and the groove is undeniable!
One of my favorite songs of the new album! Sickkkk play through as usual man
I love how he has that box propped against his hihat stand to keep his left pedal steady. Great drumming!
Highest goddamned quality!
you're a fucking machine and it's great to see you get so into the songs you play
Hell, Yes!
Just go ahead and do the whole damn album, man!
Hell that sounds amazing! Your snare sounds sick either
Nice brother keep up the good work
Some nice fancy footwork ,and good chops "hats off to ya"🤘🤘

I don't even have headphones in and I think that snare's sounding sexy!
Aaron just crushes!!
You flow so smoothly through this song... I'd be breaking at the first 10 seconds .. woo X(

the talent is immense
This album is a masterpiece

Aaron Stechauner you do a good job 👏🏽
such a great player dude, keep it up.
Those double strokes are super clean! I would love to see a little lesson video on them by you.

3:01 - 3:05 Soooo tight, love those hand switches!
Do you have any close ups of your double stoke kicks?
god damn savage on the 4 piece...
Fawwwk! Soooo good!!!
the drum sounds are much better than the ones on the album. wich kick sample didi you use? the snare sounds sick
HARVEST!! This album kicks so much ass
Can you do a video of harvest plissssssss...???
1:36 i really like this passage:) Drum sound is amazing, too!
if this is as close to an instrumental version of Margidda as we'll get, I'll fucking take it. love those chorus chords
dense kick, i love it
really great
Damn that snare is loud and I love it
Dude....that is ill. Jaw dropped and everything
That alternating hand blast gives me life

Bill Day he's doing a heel tow pattern. Essentially he's moving his feet as R-R-L-L-R-R-L-L while using his heel and toe on the pedals.
I will never understand heel toe technique. Makes no sense to me
Bill Day it's called Triggers??? Helloooo
Um no.
To the triggers comment.
Awesome!!!!!!!
WTF IS THIS! 3:12 Under the pool table
einstein?
Looks like a snake or some shit lol
Mind blowing 😵💨
