I need to check out sooo many of these faves!! Especially HoBaB and Kindred's Curse are high up on my priority list. And gosh, that ending of Oathsworn really leaves a mark, doesn't it? Hope you find many more new faves to obsess over in the new year 🥰
Yay for all the great reads! I definitely need to start Quicksilver at some point this year. I did finally start House of Bane and Blood last night and honestly this is the most intriguing romantasy I've picked up! So I deeply appreciate all your shouting from the rooftops about it and convincing me to try it. 😂
we have a lot of similar romantasy favorites. my top book was The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano. Her dead lovers body parts are scattered throughout the realm and she has to find each one in deadly places so a stranger can put him back together again. it's also under 300 pages and a standalone dark romantasy! I loved it and I'm shouting it everywhere I can.
So glad you loved The Cruel Prince trilogy. It’s so good! And I also loved House of Bane and Blood. One of my top books of 2024. I’m currently reading Glow of the Everflame and really enjoying it so far.
I haven't made an official top 10 yet, but A Dowry of Blood will defintely be competing for the number 1 spot of favourite book of the year. I have a couple of your favourite books on my TBR and hearing you gush about them has made me extra excited to pick them up 😁 🚂
This year my favourite books were The Chestnut Springs series (cannot wait to see what you think of them - I was nervous to read contemporary romance too but this series was the bridge into reading more of this genre for me!) I got gifted The Ever King and The Ever Queen this Christmas and hearing you say these were giving Pirates of the Caribbean vibes with more romantasy has got me super excited 🏴☠️ Btw you and your channel has been my main inspiration to reading more and exploring things out of my comfort zone, so thank you 🥰
I did a "catch up" year with popular fiction after finishing my English degree in literature. The Murderbot Diaries Series by Martha Wells ruled the beginning of my 2024. Then I read ACOTR and that took over my summer. This fall I was taken over by Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I started my 2025 off with the audiobook of Phantasma, my lord I have a strong start to 2025. Starting Quicksilver tonight as my physical book.
I loved The City We Became, The Book Eaters, Vita Nostra, If We Were Villains, Penpal, the Starless Sea, the Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, Rouge, Bunny, the Weight of Blood, the Last House on Needless Street, Any Man, and I could go on haha🚂
🚂 some of my favorite books of the year were: The City Bakers Guide to Country Living by Louise Miller, Academy of Villains by Ever King, The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith (I had a ARC for this), Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, A Million Junes by Emily Henry, and Stars and Smoke by Marie Lu.
Happy New Year, Cassidy! 💖May it be wonderful and surpass your expectations in the best way!💖 Oh, 3, 2 and 1 are def on my tbr, and my faves of 2024 are Crave and Lights out - they were such a fun reads, and also Powerless and Powerful, and Addie LaRue, and The Teacher, and better stop here before listing everything 😅
Does house of bane and blood have much spice? I don’t like reading about too much spice. I read the serpent and the wings of night series and the throne of glass series so I’m ok with that much spice. This sounds so good.
Some of my favorite reads in 2024 (4 star or higher) are Say You Swear (Meagan Brandy), Dishonestly Yours (Krista & Becca Ritchie), The Fake Mate (Lana Ferguson), Monsters Within (R. L. Caulder), Chase and the Girl Who Came Back (Amber Davis), Pretty Reckless (L. J. Shen), Lights Out (Navessa Allen), and Part of Your World (Abby Jimenez).
Hey 🎉 happy new year! So my favourite of all time, not just 2024 is Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant…. And judging by what you like to read, I would highly recommend the Soul Screamers Series. It is a bit older, but I remember plowing through those books and loving them so so much…. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I made my top 10 not even an hour ago and am already questioning the order in which i put things or if another book that almost made it, shouldn't be in it... The eternal struggles! I think 2025 is gonna be my year of romantasy. I've read a few in 2024 and i have liked them, so i have my eye on quite a few series that i want to start this year (a lot of which may or may not be on this list)
my BotY top ...12 (no particular order): Looking For Smoke by K.A. Cobell The Feast Makers by H.A. Clarke Catalyst by Audrey Faye Strange Beasts by Susan J. Morris Compound Fracture by Andrew Joseph White Don't Let The Forest In by C.G. Drews Merciless Saviors by H.E. Edgmon The Poisons We Drink by Bethany Baptiste The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette's by Hanna Alkaf The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. Maclean Mistress of Lies by K.M. Enright So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole
Okay i have a question for you!! I am doing a project inspired by you!! if you had to choose any two fantsay books for this list that sum up your reading life this year what two books would you choose! i have read the cruel prince and heartless hunter, and quicksliver you can choose any fantsay book or fanro on you list!
BIG YES to loving books where the relationship adds to the story without being the main conflict. Forever begging for more of those.
We truly need more but also you didn't lol Hobab sooooo

Per usual Cassidy never fails on amazing recommendations. 90% of these books are now on my TBR. Can't wait for an amazing 2025 of reading.
Cheers to hopefully recommending you books for many more years to come

So many shared favorites! Here’s to another year of crying, screaming, throwing up buddy reads!!!🚂

I've read almost everything on your favorites list and I would second on how amazing they all are! Can't wait to read the ones I haven't yet.
I swear I have at LEAST 75% of these on my want to read list. I AM SLACKING!
Hopefully 2025 brings you more amazing books and series. Happy New Year!
My Favorite book was a Feather So Black by Lyra Selene. It was a Swan Lake retelling based on Celtic lore. And I loved every inch of it.
ooooh sounds very atmospheric
This is a great list... several i loved and more im curious to read!
My favorites of the year was the war of lost hearts trilogy and Strange Sally Diamond. But it was a hard pick.
Does house of bane and blood have much spice? I don’t like reading about too much spice. I read the serpent and the wings of night series and the throne of glass series so I’m ok with that much spice. This sounds so good.
I would say it's on par with serpent for spice!
thanks for letting me know! I’ll read it soon.

So what I’m hearing is that it’s a good thing I have Spark of the Everflame and House of Bane and Book on my January tbr. 😂 -Tabatha

I think you might like a new favorite book this year, the merciless king of Moore high by lily sparks
My best book of 2024 was Blood Over Bright Haven!
You really need to continue with the good girls guide to murder books. They are amazing!
Girl, drop a hair tutorial IMMEDIATELY. The second this video popped up, I inadvertently shouted "What the F***?! STUNNING!" At my computer's screen
Awe thank you so much. It's just straightener curls that are very messy and brushed out
Are you on Alex Menard’s PR team? If not, you SHOULD be! 😂 Great job convincing me to give HoBaB a try! 🚂
I received House of Bane and Blood for my sneaky Santa, and plan for it to be my first read of 2025!
Almost as good as Serpents? Yep, I'm reading that! 🚂🚃🚆
I think you'll love it

House of bane and blood and bonded by thorns.
@@CoverswithCassidy thank you!!
I never rank my Top 10 based on stars because there are always 4 stars that outrank 5 stars each year lol
I want to give House of Blood and Bane a shot
Hope You enjoy it
Okay, okay.. I’ll continue after Spark. I HATED that book! 😂 But it’s been a resounding opinion, it gets better.
I Hope book two doesn't let you down. Diem is like a different character imo
Honestly I’m not enjoying the best books of the year because if I didn’t have a good year then neither should anyone else (yes I’m a bad person) 😂
