When the fog comes through the golden gate And the moon shines on the bay And everything has changed Now that you have gone away Things are getting darker And its harder for me to see And now you're an angel Lookin' over me Back up back up, It's what you get, beat up, keyed up this rocky road Sad but true but the list is too long If I had to name you all it wouldn't be fit in this song This magnums got me thinkin' and its making me pissed Your lives were taken to early and you will always be missed All the mothers who cry and the fathers who mourn For every life's that taken there's another child born That doesn't make it better and it doesn't make it right I'm just thankful everyday that you came in my life In a dream you take a trip Down Shattuck to Durant Up the hill, to the steps, Sproul Plaza and Telegraph You pass Channing you pass Derby You go to Ashby down to Adeleine Take mlk to fifty-fourth and go down To Genoa yeah and follow the bart tracks To Harmon street ahhh Harmon street Harmon street Harmon street Yeah it's reoccurring it's like a dream I live a thousand times yeah And it's always like the very first time As time goes on I can never forget All the times we had memories I protect Seems like yesterday when I last saw your face You're no longer here and no one can replace All the times we had wish they could happen again I'll hold you in my heart in my heart to the end If I could make a change it'd be me not you So hard to sit and cope, so sad but true In a dream you take a trip Down Shattuck to Durant Up the hill, to the steps, Sproul Plaza and Telegraph You pass Channing you pass Derby
Never in a million years did I ever think I'd be listening to this song thinking of my brother Boo instead of listening to it with him thinking about other people...
Today is the 22nd anniversary of me lil bruva dude, Cory Paradis's passing. I have dedicated this song to him every year since 2002. Until we meet again me dearthair.😢 ☘️
Man these guys will forever be one of my favs. When I first started listening to this song idk how many years ago it never hit home like it does now. ❤❤❤❤❤💓❤❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🙏🙌👏🙏🙏🙏
hey!!! Tim Armstrong i love it your way how music , you are the best punk rock leader of the word , i am follow since fiveteeen years old , tanks for the legacy of your music
So I have never really listened to this song until tonight… Except for maybe one time years and years ago, when all of a sudden tonight I can distinctly remember my late brother Chris showing me this song and singing this hook that he loved. I had no idea what the song was about, I actually had to google the few words I remember him singing just to find the song. Anyways, now hearing the lyrics and remembering him singing it to me, the meaning of the song hits very differently. Feeling super close to Chris right now all completely out of the blue has me feeling all kinds of emotional. Just wanted to share this moment with anyone who cares 🫶🏼 My heart is super full right now. Figures he would come today on Friday the 13th to haunt me with good vibes 😭🥹 that funny bast*rd Chris I see you ☝🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 I can hear your voice 🙏🏼 “It’s recurring, it’s like a dream I live a thousand times, yeah, and it’s always like the very first time.”
As much as this album was amazing to 9th grade me, and it still is a great album in my opinion, the lyrics were pretty sophomoric, except this song. After getting older and revisiting these lyrics, they are even more powerful and relevant than they were at the age of 14/15. Especially after losing more friends and family since the first few times I listened. Still got love for this Transplants album. I've always loved Rancid too, even after my punk phase. ...And Out Come The Wolves is an amazing album and a staple of punk rock, really rock in general, at least at the time (1995). Also, Travis is one of the coolest people ever and way more talented than the music he makes.
I am 56, and I love this album, when I first heard it I thought it quite brutal, after hearing Rancid's Out Come The Wolves, but it one of my all time great albums.
That’s what I love about Rancis and Tim and ALL his people. They’re real. They loved and survived and lost and won through all the bullshit just like any other person. But unlike most they did it with grace and they shared.
I’m sorry but this is my absolute favorite song coz this is to every motherfucker I have ever known in my life. Freind, family, for. Everyone is content to be a comfortable sheep coz it’s too hard to be a lion. But I’ll still fight for them til the end coz that’s me 🤷♂️
That one good song? I dont even want to know what you consider good music! Every Rancid album is good from beginning to end! The only exception I can think of that you shouldn't get completely fucked is if you have downsyndrome!

When the fog comes through the golden gate
And the moon shines on the bay
And everything has changed
Now that you have gone away
Things are getting darker
And its harder for me to see
And now you're an angel
Lookin' over me
Back up back up,
It's what you get, beat up, keyed up this rocky road
Sad but true but the list is too long
If I had to name you all it wouldn't be fit in this song
This magnums got me thinkin' and its making me pissed
Your lives were taken to early and you will always be missed
All the mothers who cry and the fathers who mourn
For every life's that taken there's another child born
That doesn't make it better and it doesn't make it right
I'm just thankful everyday that you came in my life
In a dream you take a trip
Down Shattuck to Durant
Up the hill, to the steps, Sproul Plaza and Telegraph
You pass Channing you pass Derby
You go to Ashby down to Adeleine
Take mlk to fifty-fourth and go down
To Genoa yeah and follow the bart tracks
To Harmon street ahhh Harmon street
Harmon street Harmon street
Yeah it's reoccurring it's like a dream
I live a thousand times yeah
And it's always like the very first time
As time goes on I can never forget
All the times we had memories I protect
Seems like yesterday when I last saw your face
You're no longer here and no one can replace
All the times we had wish they could happen again
I'll hold you in my heart in my heart to the end
If I could make a change it'd be me not you
So hard to sit and cope, so sad but true
In a dream you take a trip
Down Shattuck to Durant
Up the hill, to the steps, Sproul Plaza and Telegraph
You pass Channing you pass Derby
