OPTC is a zombie game. It's dead aside when big celebrations happen, and it's when they make some money. Now I want to see how they will deal with One Piece doing a six months break, and no new hype anime fights dropping to make players go crazy, because let's not kid ourselves, the Anime airing is what carries this game, otherwise, it would have died a while ago.
While the name definitely carries the game (happens with a lot of gachas tbf), i think they will be ok making more super sugo Yamato units before the anime returns. It's not like all the big anime fights get used properly anyway, Garp just got a normal legend. The interest for normal legends without the new anime moments will for sure drop though
This game is my biggest case of sunk-cost-fallacy - Some money but more importantly, a lot of time. I check back every time there's a major banner on but ultimately, I don't really play anymore. Hard to break the habit lol
Optc was the first gacha game I was addicted to , the amount of Sugo fests is insane . I truly appreciate the days we had to actually wait until a Sugo fest arrives .
Yeah, too many legends not only diminishes their value but also becomes tiring to have to get a new (or multiple new ones) for every event. I think that's another reason they released super sugos
I started the game when i saw the 6+ yamato psy. Biggest regrets like other commentators were saying sunk cost fallacy each wano banner kept releasing cool units and yamato :) but now since wano is over i just quit. Felt so good no longer feel the need to play the "units" for events which made the game extremely unfun.
With this game being one of my very first gachas it is very unfortunate that after time this game got just so bad and repetitive. The gimmicks too just tend to be super obnoxious in kizuna and tm. Aswell as the frustration when they cut the amount of usable boosters for some events.
I agree with this i also had points wanting to add here cus wat i really think bandai should consider doing is making the old modes like tm and kizuna (its gonna increase to the other modes along the way) to basically make them playable at any time without a time limit and most of all u r allowed to choose which boss u want to fight and grind points for (no there will not be the competitive rankings with this cus lets be honest here that was the 1st step to make the game fall) and as a bonus u can use the very boosters u have for that specific boss to grind the points out and get the rewards u missed and highest will include not only the blue tickets, golds, reds, or the LB materials but itll also include the tm key for the very unit u r fighting on and u will get a gold key with collecting alot of points as well For kizuna it works the same way so u can get the stuff u missed from previous events of those characters (with the boosts now giving additional ticket drops players will literally have fun with great excitement getting their missing units and materials) Finally one more thing is the FP pulls its fine to keep it for the fortnight/story character's and for the turtle/evolvers but id like to add in a section (adding in a 4th that would be centered around festive units around certain holidays) this section will give u the boosters from very old tms and kizunas (rumble and PKA will come later) so u can use those very boosters to help give the multiplier of points for the bosses on tm and kizuna (its also to make FP more useful instead of it sitting there collecting dust with no real updates to it anymore) So yea thats the ideas ive had that would help actually bring the players back and make it more fun just like it was back then (ik bandai cant make money with that but thats the point those greedy money grubbers dont need to collect anymore)
Some interesting takes here, i like some of the ideas but to be honest, I don't think they will ever do that. First off they don't even put some older Arenas in the recollection archive and that's exactly the reason they introduced it in the first place. They want people to feel like they need the new dedicated event legend/units to clear the events easier and in the limited time they are available while knowing they won't return. Your final statement plays a big role, if they can't make money from it, they won't go through the trouble (true for more gachas tbh not just OPTC)
While I do 100% agree with you, it's gotten so much worse and the boosters have definitely contributed; it actually started with Uta and the film red sugofest. it wasn't just Uta that released, it was the same exact format as this one, the first part being Uta and Film red Chopper, 2nd part being Shanks and Ben Beckman and Lucky Rou and the third part being film red Luffy and Usopp/Yassopp. the only difference with this one is they added another super sugo with Yamato so part 1 had 3 new legends instead of 2. Also I''m not sure if you remember, but they made the film red legends more rare than the actual super sugos; because they didn't appear on banners again for MONTHS. So you had the actual Super Sugo come back for anniversary but legends like film red chopper didn't come back until the next year.
The film red sugo 100% gave Bandai the green light to have the greedy super sugo fest structure, i agree. Hence why we call it the "Film red structure", it was introduced back then and apparently it did well enough for them to not only keep doing it in August super sugos but also in other big ones, like the 9th Anniversary.
Totally agree with everyhting said in that video. I've been playing since almost day 1 and due to the last decisions made (boosted list, TM, less gems,...) I'm going to stop after the next kizuna.
i stop playing the game since 1-2months ago, cause the game was so hardly repeteatly. they were spamming sugos back to back, with low gems to farm, with the same content as the other months but with less time to farm things. i thought leaving the game was my best election by far

Even with how bad things are, i have to be honest, I don't see OPTC stopping before One Piece does. Why stop making millions with minimum effort? Of course if they keep on making these horrible decisions the profit will substantially reduce

Tbh, i never care much about Bandai release Anni/Super unit back to back in different Sugo or Boost or not for a Event cause it happen many time and i expect it to happen. Hime Turtle still dumb change. Next 7 month is a test for Bandai with the game. We will not get Anime, which mean no new Egg Head Character (you know who they're). Which mean Bandai can't just release new hype Anime debut Character/Ability to get easy money, best now is Galaxy Divide. So Bandai have to creative, or we will get Wano, MF back to back (i'm fine with older Arc more, make old guy OP).
The anime break will effect the game for sure, but at the same time for a long while they were not following the anime. No new anime moment hype legends for big sugos though
@@reaper5118 That's what i think, they must do "something" than release limit Sugo back to back cause their strongest weapon (which make hem lazy) is gone now. They can go back to older Arc (except Wano and MF, too many Legend). Actually do some interesting thing for players to feel like they want to play the game. *For a game like OPTC or other gacha, hype Characters or Waifu have huge impact in sellling stuff. And OPTC just stop before the Golden Cave Arc for Bandai, LOL.
Been playing since year two before TM, Kizuna, Rumble, PKA, etc. but I stopped maybe 3 months back (only login and close). The game is dead smh the greed and constant grinding are both outrageous. It sucks because I love One Piece and the game was fun to play along side the show but Bandai ruined it.
Bandai and for sure Yoshi completely ruined this game, shame on them. People quit like crazy in the last months, no wonder with such a greedy trash company
Stopping people from freely team building for majority of new content has ruined part of OPTC's identity. The boosted lists were ok at first and in some events, but not only are they more now, the units boosted also become less and less
Currently i am only casually playing some Honkai Star Rail. I was thinking of trying Bounty rush now that it is out on steam but not sure if i will. Will definitely play jujutsu kaisen phantom parade when it releases though. What about you?

I'm currently playing Slime Isekai Memories, started like a week ago. They have bait anniversary banners going on before the actual anniversary on 28th of this month. They gave 100 tickets to pull for free, basically 10 times, among other things. Pretty generous compared to OPTC lol. It is similar to Dokkan Battle with the orb manipulation system, but has a more in-depth team-building and synergy... I think.

Stopped playing after 10 years anni… 8 years in, but still the best 4 months of mobilegaming, not being obligated to summon or grinding

The boosted Meta shouldnt be in Optc. We need more Raids and Fortnite with better F2p Units.
