Gotta say with the advent of Kickstarter the way we talk about how people support games seems to be so focused on the money people spend. Those of us who love video games but live on fixed incomes or are low income still support these games, and believe in their vision. Not being able to shell out $200 for a kickstarter doesn't mean we don't support these developers. And just because someone has $200 burning a hole in their pocket doesn't automatically mean they are the "true supporters of their vision" it just means they have disposable income and like the concept.
My homie supported their KS and I couldn't afford it at the time, I think its pretty awesome what they're doing here and just can't find a reason to be booty tickled ab it. Also I've never felt like my "support" of a game relates to how deep I can reach into my wallet at any given moment.. Funny enough though, KCD woulda never been possible without those ppl w/disposable income right? 🤑
@@modpodge9099 I don't think the issue is directly about the studio giving away the free game or even directed at the studio at all. It is more about 5:30-5:42 where he implies that there is a funding level where it "shows" that those people are the ones that really believe in your game as if to imply that those who give less do not have as much care for the game. That is what OP was going on about.
I think if we're going to take this pessimistic view, then consider that: someone putting two games worth of money in should eventually expect two games back if the investment is succeeding.
@@mastergreenfox6004 You hit the nail on the head. I just want people to have more compassion in the way they speak about these things. Not everyone is born into a situation where they will have disposable income in their lifetime and we should be mindful to not belittle their position even unintentionally.
@@mastergreenfox6004 I agree, this comment was insensitive. A person's disposable income is not a real indicator of the passion and excitement they feel towards a game. I don't make enough money to drop $200 on a game, but I've been playing and loving video games for 32 years. That's passion.
Usually game leakers aren't necessarily hackers, but just insiders who have some kind of motivation for leaking it. Maybe an employee that got fired and did it out of spite. Maybe someone who sees that the completed game is going to be different from the current build in a way they disagree with. Maybe someone who belongs to a game cracking group that worked on the project and assumes enough people are gonna buy it anyways that leaking it won't matter much. There are all kinds of possibilities for motives.
Damn Warhorse just did the best PR move I could think of. As for the EULA of whatever game that was.. is this a global EULA? Is the company operating in Vietnam? Because Vietnam enforces that kinda EULA and I wouldnt be surprised if other countries do too ie China, which is where NetEase HQ is located.
The gov ID part is only enforced in China. NOWHERE and i mean NOWHERE else is this a thing you need (unless i am missing some other nation that monitors the play time of its citizens), the entire thing was just a overreaction because some twitter dumbass didnt read the EULA properly
Plot Twist: They wanted ALL the clout. Leaked their own game to see a response. Like a Beta lol. Then they have a month or so to fix things, change things people complain about, ETC. It's a long shot but would be cool. It would be genius marketing if executed correctly.

"wipes" are only for a specific type of audience and gameplay. It's why I don't play RUST or other games similar to this.
I am very glad it got leaked. The reason: The developer is showing the same scenes over and over and over again in their trailers. And that gets on my nerves. The beta was canceled as well. We dont see new gameplay or if they finaly adjusted their gameplay sounds. I critiziced almost on every new trailer, that their bolter, walking and fighting sounds are to weak and missing the oooomph of the first game. Now with some gameplay and story leaks I have seen, I am far more positive about the game and pray to the emperor for a good and well optimized final product in september.
Ironically the leak made me even more excited for the game. I played the entire thing the other night, and god is it amazing. It’s WWZ with a 40k paint scheme and upped the gore. What’s not to like?
What most of us are concerned with is the SBI-like influence in games nowadays. If the Space Marine 2 leaks show that it's not infested with that kind of ideology, then it will sell well. Edit: 12:00 This has been a trend with chinese gaming companies for a while now. They collect data for the ccp.
I dont care about story spoilers, I want to know how it runs. All of their official gameplay videos had crazy frame rate fluctuations and micro hangs. You gotta assume they're gonna release the best footage they have, so if there's problems in those it makes me think about what they're not showing.
I stand by Saber and Focus. With how consumer friendly, aka NOT SCUMMY, Space Marine 2 seems I refuse to look into any of the leaks. 3:34 also GW already released how Titus came back to the Ultramarines in their magazine “White Dwarf”.
That's gonna happen regardless because people are dumb. Just look at Elden Ring's dlc. I got spoiled so much just because of thumbnails, I had to avoid youtube for a couple of days.

I didn't get that Email but it makes me want to support them even more. That's something LARIAN would do and they're one of the best game companies out there today so anyone who treats backers/supporters like that gets recognition from me.
I will be buying this no matter what. I loved the original and there are so few actually good 40k shooters out there. Stay strong devs - THE EMPEROR IS WITH US! PRAISE BE!
Tsushima was a 74~GB game as well, and it is one of the more comprehensive games out there. Now, I'm not expecting that kind of playtime from a far more linear action shooter like Space Marine 2, but if a studio optimizes their game in a positive way, that's all that really matters.
I signed up for all of these accounts so long ago that the idea of asking a user to provide a digital photograph of their license or passport or whatever was considered unworkable for most people. So, as of yet, I've never had a single request for real life ID to be sent to Steam or whoever else.
They do say ID is only for countries where it's legally required. I do think they could have done a better job of laying out the details in the EULA to make it easier to understand this though.
Space Marine 2 Devs -=> Man, that sucks, sorry to hear that. Silver lining: who knows, maybe the piracy and press because of this event will lead to increased sales. Especially if its a solid game, many people will want to buy the full/complete version if they 'try' the leaked build and like it. Kingdom Come Deliverance Devs -=> That's really commendable to offer the sequel for free to early backers!
You're right. I was going to ignore the game because of the announced microtransactions, but there seems to be goodwill from the leak, so I'm interested again.
The worst reaction to a leak is a last minute rewrite (looking at you Mass Effect 3) so here's to hoping they just swallow it and do the best they can regardless, it still looks like a ton of fun with interesting advancements to the traditional melee combat we've seen all other TPS action games adopt since Arkham Asylum/the Witcher 3.
Fortunately, in the case of Sony, they are really careful and secure with data. Never have to worry about data leaks or hacks or anything with such a big, professional conglomerate🙃
RE: Once Human EULA: @Piratesoftware has covered this extensively. China and Korea require this as gaming is heavily regulated. Your coverage of this buries the lead.
They're saying it's last year to make themselves look good, it's a final week, maybe two of development. It's just assets, they're the first part done usually.
To show you how history repeats itself, id's Rage (Pre-gold build, I believe) leaked while Tim Willits and Todd Hollenshead were leading and managing the game /company, and same thing is now happening with SMII while they're part of Sabre Game Studios and Sabre Publishing. SMH.
I'm with the crowd that was waiting for SM2 to finally arrive. I can wait a little longer without spoiling myself. Tho' no pre-orders. I'm keeping well away from anything related to SM2 gameplay to not get into any spoilers so that's that. I'll probably buy it shortly after release, after some reviews get in. Just to be sure, because you never know these days. Hopefully leak won't discourage devs from continuing their work on it (like a story/missions expansion and further game support).
I wouldn't have even known the game had leaked because they have released a trailer for every single feature in game ona daily basis. I actually just don't give a shit about this game until it comes out anymore.
I already knew that the EULA wasn't a real issue in most countries but the shooting in this game feels so bad that I had to drop it after like 15 minutes.
Another thing is that in South Korea people are not allowed to play video games for over a certain amount of time because of game addiction, which they use the ID to track.
I couldn't give the slightest shit about the leaks, there's no fkn way I'd ruin the fully-fleshed out experience of a game that I know will be a banger and certainly one of my favorites

Both my brother and I beat the campaign already, excellent game that deserves your buy and support. The amount of customization of the co op pve and pvp game modes are really great too.
No, it doesn't suck, quite the contrary. Space Marine 2 has major concerns surrounding it because of GW's delve into wokeness, and apparently a DEI consulting firm working with the writers. This will help determine whether or not those concerns are valid and if they're not, this leak could actually increase sales. If those concerns are valid then this will save a lot of people a lot of money and add another nail into the coffin of DEI pandering.
Those hackers or incompetent fools who are leaking games before release, do not understand that they can potentially cancel the whole game and make from scratch. It can cost a lot of money to the developers.
Ive been listening to tons of 40K lore recently and I for one can wait for the game to be perfect and dont want some half finished leaked build. Besides we already know most of the 40k story anyways not like anything can be really spoiled. Now we wait for the finished experience.
I don't really mind the spoilers in the greater sense from a 40k nerd's perspective. But for me I won't look further into it because I want to experience first had what happened to him and his men...especially what happened to his snitching Teammate lol. @@leadpaintchips9461 eh, there is still the process of testing and bug squashing. It's just people pay for the privilege. Of course there are a bunch of players who don't actually do bug reports and just see it as playing the game early but that's on them not the process.
Early access has done more to erode the alpha, beta, RC, production pattern than the marketers have.
@@petoperceptum Before Early Access was even a thing, 'betas' were just that by another name. All about building up hype and interest while hiding behind the unfinished tag without enough time for those people who are actually making the game to implement any changes (if they even knew about the feedback to begin with).
First time I've seen a video 8 seconds after it releases. Glad I'm up for the news.
You and me both
The next logical step is to see it BEFORE it releases.
You know, like Space Marine 2.
At least you didn't proclaim first, though it's still nauseating and pointless - who cares?
PirateSoftware's take on the Eula was a good take.
Yeah, Thor laid is out really well.
A bit too apologetic for me. Yes the government sharing thing is only for countries that require it legally. Yes it is nothing too unusual. It still gives them very broad rights to collect and sell user data.
@@XMysticHerox There was nothing apologetic about it. He just said as it is.
@@XMysticHerox No, it doesn't. Go look at the EULA of any game also sold in China, like WoW. Same clause.
@@XMysticHerox And what data is that?
Oh no how devastating the entire game leaked... is it shit? That would be devastating.
Nah, its pretty good actually
@@Corvusripper343 hell yeah
Only devastating if because of this leak they never make their money back.
@@brodriguez11000well apparently its getting people to pre order it. So its nice to see gamers going i might have this janky version but if its good im giving you money
@@brodriguez11000 If a game is good, people are going to buy it to support the developers.
OMFG wow hackers went wild this weekend.
@@Itsallsotiresome A lot of ppl got even this weekend lol.
@@X862go Thats absolutely for sure 🤣🤣🤣
Couldn't possibly be related to Crowdstrike could it? :P
@@gangsterHOTLINE Not sure but I imagine the world's IT support being flat out busy or already exhausted certainly didn't help prevent the hacks.
My very first thought was Starfield when you said supporters get access to loading screen...
"We'll only take all your data if we have to... honest..."
I do not believe them.
Plot Twist: They wanted ALL the clout. Leaked their own game to see a response. Like a Beta lol. Then they have a month or so to fix things, change things people complain about, ETC. It's a long shot but would be cool. It would be genius marketing if executed correctly.
But hey… its sorta good then? Right?
Nothing wrong with a leak only loyalist to the imperium will buy and play the game shun the heretics who are part of the leak and are benefiting off of it.
"Free to play" and "mobile game" are all you really need to know to tell the story of once human
the ironic part is, that its not a bad game, i have buddies that love playing it and havent spent a single cent on the game
Only issue that made me not play once human is server wipes.
@@Chippaization Hope they remove them I'm going to try it once the server does wipe the first time because I feel like its been 2 long to start now
@@The_Geni same i don't have the energy to grind for everything asap just to have it wiped a few days later.
@@Chippaization The wipes, are a fundamental part of the game. They will not be removed. The only thing you will have to farm is the materials for what was "wiped". But once you know a "schematic" you will always know it.
If you are interested, grind the recipes/schematics, and build next "season" ....
*HOWEVER* I agree with you.
"Space Marines 2"
Thats wild how one letter turns it into sounding like a pixar movie
3:40 it literally doesn't mean anything. The game is releasing soon and this leak only creates free ad for them.
its time to pre order the game to show them some support
When you said Imma break it down and didnt do a little dance broke my heart 💔
Played the leak, and its good. Will buy and play it again. PVE is gonna be wild with plenty of customisations.
I stand by Saber and Focus.
With how consumer friendly, aka NOT SCUMMY, Space Marine 2 seems I refuse to look into any of the leaks.
3:34 also GW already released how Titus came back to the Ultramarines in their magazine “White Dwarf”.
Just a paranoid note on the EULA piece: the steam policy forbids "fraudulent" scraping. If its up front in the EULA it's not necessarily fraudulent...
If you preordered, the full description download says the full build is 134gb, not 70gb
holy bloat batman
damn thats crazy...
where are people even downloading it from?
Wish I knew too
Try r/piracy
I have the same question
It's called Google. It's 2024 and....I shouldn't be surprised lol just Google it. No one who knows that info will put it on here.
I wish I knew so I could avoid that website at all costs!
I'd rather wait for reviews. And then decide if I wanna give them money.
there's literally a full game out there to experience from beginning to end. what are you gonna lose other than time playing it? XD
Don’t give Games Workshop your money.

Im not searching for it lol. I really hope that nobody posts a fucking video with the final boss in the thumbnail again.
That's gonna happen regardless because people are dumb. Just look at Elden Ring's dlc. I got spoiled so much just because of thumbnails, I had to avoid youtube for a couple of days.

Warhorse are some great guys for this. The first game was pretty janky but loads of fun. Im hoping for a little more polish in the sequel. Ill be buying either way.
I was waiting for Final reviews for WH40K SM 2, i enjoyed the first so buying this one would be a no brainer if its good. I prefer to buy a few games that i will play and enjoy.
Wait, what? A game that is *playable* even before release? Did anyone ever hear about this?
Most games I play early access so I really don't understand the big fuss over leaks, and few people will bother to play a leaked build, myself i will be glad to be able get information outside of the review copy influencer bs
Just played the Leaked Version, it is 100% worth our money...Great fucking game.
PRAISE BE!
The amount of memory it takes is not important, Is the game good and polished right from release is what we need.
They should just release the Warhammer game now and get ahead of it. I'm not saying this because I can't wait for it I swear...
God I wish they released it already, but if that extra time before launch means ironing out any kinks the game may have then I'm all for it.

To show you how history repeats itself, id's Rage (Pre-gold build, I believe) leaked while Tim Willits and Todd Hollenshead were leading and managing the game /company, and same thing is now happening with SMII while they're part of Sabre Game Studios and Sabre Publishing. SMH.
Interesting clarification about the ID reqs. I appreciate the nuance.
If the game is 1/2 as good as it looks, I'll be happy to wait and pay for the full experience
Hopefully leak won't discourage devs from continuing their work on it (like a story/missions expansion and further game support).
all my friends nicknames would be shockingly rude and vulgar.

Don't let the group chat get leaked... 👀
The user agreement is fine industry standard the FULL seasonal reset on an MMO like game is what should be the turnoff

from what i can see the game looks pretty sick, i doubt the leak will effect the company negatively
Another thing is that in South Korea people are not allowed to play video games for over a certain amount of time because of game addiction, which they use the ID to track.
It'll be a continue to play later feature, when they ask for your passport.
HL2 was “leaked” early. People don’t seem to remember that but it was strange say the least.
That privacy policy is a massive overstep and in no way should be called a "Privacy" Policy.
I couldn't give the slightest shit about the leaks, there's no fkn way I'd ruin the fully-fleshed out experience of a game that I know will be a banger and certainly one of my favorites
So the leak is from last year august. I will be very intrested to what the differences of the two versions of this game will have.

Man I am hoping KCD will be well optimized!
Funny that a news video is early access elsewhere so when you post it here it's just old news.
Leaks usually mean its really bad. I don't know how it works but it does
I don't really mind the spoilers in the greater sense from a 40k nerd's perspective. To be fair you can see the crossed chains on Titus's right arm which indicates that he was sent onto a penetance mission, according to 40k lore. But for me I won't look further into it because I want to experience first had what happened to him and his men...especially what happened to his snitching Teammate lol. The game itself looks great so far.
I'm taking time off to play space marine 2 around launch. Looking forward to it, and there being a leak has zero impact on my decisions.
That is so cool about Kingdom come Deliverance 2
I'm not going to search for spoilers even if it is leaked. I will look to see if the game is positively received on launch, and if so I will play it. For the Emperor!
