  • Norfolk, VA is an commercial area packed with big barges and large ships. A lot of them are commercial and a bunch are military as well. We just tucked off to the side of the channel and tried our best to stay out of the way of these behemoths. We finally made it out into the wide open Chesapeake bay where the weather improved and we had another successful day on the water!

I did serve my country in the military, but I don't think what I'm doing now is considered as such, and I wouldn't put myself in the same category as Chris, but I appreciate your sentiment. People like you that are aware of the sacrifices people make for our great country is what makes the world go around.

lol and there's nothing wrong with that lol its not why I watch this, but I couldn't care otherwise. if a woman has a hot body and she is proud of it, then its hers to flaunt. why is something as beautiful as a semi or completely naked woman considered dirty rude, and in bad taste. something to be covered up. But where all ok with graphically Violent video game trailers with people getting torn limb from limb. Hide something Beautiful and glorify something discussing and horrific. don't you think that's a little backwards. and we all wonder why there's so many sick evil people in this world.

Thank you so much for posting this! It's so awesome to see y'all coming through an area I'm so familiar with. I learned to waterski behind my grandfather's boat on the Pungo Alligator canal and spent many sunny afternoons on one of the small beaches that line the shore there. Glad you made it across the Albermarle it can be really hairy and those pots are no joke if you suck them into to the prop especially in those conditions! FYI there is a small marina right next to the Alligator River bridge that carries a few essentials if you are low on supplies.. They can also offer safe harbor or fuel if needed. I highly recommend a slight detour to Belhaven as well when traveling on the Pungo River. There is a full size grocery store in town as well as a couple of marinas and restaurants. There is also a rail yard if you need an emergency haulout for any reason. I love your channel and it's so awesome to see you visit my North Carolina!

That coffee colored water is called brackish it's a mixture of salt and fresh water that has come down from up river swamps and forests it get the color from trees and fallen trees and bark that decayed. You passed my sisters house and my nephew on the Waccamaw near Myrtle Beach. When I was a kid we had a beach house in Myrtle there were three piers for fishing none of the hotels and motels that are there now.

How great was that. You turn a nasty scary day into an adventure.
I bet that squash along with the sauce and bacon was more than you could eat. Tomorrow you'll catch plenty of fish, and find one last thing to go with that. It'll be the best fish you ever ate. Then finally, you'll get into a decent store, days after you 'needed' to. How exciting.

Maybe have a "pro" eyeball the plate and transmission for correct alignment at your convenience, but I doubt you'll have any trouble with the motor itself.

Yep.... a little farther up from betterton is a really nice overnite anchoring area. Just outside Lloyds creek ,I believe. Darn shame they are pressed for time ...so many cool land spots to visit.

I suspect he may also not have known in advance, that many spots in the upper bay are fresh water as opposed to brackish or salty AND some rivers are cleaner than others ....which is perfect for a midnite swim. I would prefer to overnite on the sassafras....rather than the Elk or Delaware rivers. :-) ( Anywhere close to the channel is silty ,thanks to the ships passing over.)

Hey you deleted last video. Anyway here's what I tried to post. Nice video. On your way home from NY or if you get a couple days off. You two should spend a few days on Block Island. Nice place. Maybe take the ferry from Block Island To Galileo, RI. Just a suggestion

What do you guys do for refrigeration while underway? Icebox or 12 volt or propane? I noticed you use a Honda generator, so I'm assuming it's not running the refrigerator.
