    The two videos I have watched of you is just complaining about things that don't really matter. Carnival having mediocre buffets, cozumel having a bad port with carnival because it messed up your walking time to whatever you set up to do, things being old and smelly, etc in this vid. What do you expect? This cruise line has the BEST prices and party vibes of any cruise line. And the complimentary food options are amazing. Enjoy a cruise. Once you get to a point where you point all the negatives out, you will never be happy. I get these type videos probably draw the most views, but don't feed into this life please.

      Given the outrageous soaring grocery prices and the high cost of buying food now, having all day all-you-can-eat food on a cruise ship sounds more tempting and desirable.

    My family and I just sailed the Sunshine a few weeks ago, for the 2nd time in 2 years. We experienced none of the on board issues. Embarkation is a product of Charleston not wanting any improvement in the port. After 2024 the Sunshine will sail from Norfolk. The port will be converted into condos, which you can already see the transition has started. This ship has some of the best service in Carnival's fleet.

    Don't feel so bad when sailing on the Carnival Magic in an inside cabin we were overwhelmed by the fumes from fresh wet Marine Paint coming through the ventilation ducts.The paint smells were so bad when our room attendant went in to try to find the problem they got nauseous sick and were rushed off to the medical center. After dragging the hotel manager down to our room and to several others in the area they finally made the decision to reposition everyone to other cabins. I've been on many, many Carnival Cruises, and within the last few years, it has definitely turned into the Dollar Store of cruise lines. As crummy as some of their ships are, the passengers are even worse!

    First of all thank you for taking the time to make this video, It is quite obvious that you spent put in a lot of effort and I commend you for it. That being said I have sailed on several Carnival and RC ships and the Sunshine is my very favorite.
    First it is unfortunate that you had such a bad experience with the port and even though my experiences weren’t quite as bad as your they were still bad. On this we totally agree.
    As far as the ships age you are partially right. The Destiny was built in 1996, its renovations and rebranding in 2023 made it much more modern than any of the current the 2 Fantasy class at 71,909-70,025 GT with passenger capacities of 2124-2190 and the 5 Spirit class ships at 88,500-92,720 GT and passenger capacities of 2124-2260. The Sunshine has a GT of 102,853 and carries 3002 passengers.
    When you take into consideration the Sunshine offers amenities like the Red Frog Pub and Alchemy bar as well as the best Serenity area in the fleet with its 3 story lounging area, adult only plunge pool and the one of a kind waterfall, I find it the perfect blend of a ship with much of the experiences of the larger ones without having to walk all day to get to them.
    We can also agree on the room size. Both of my sailings were interior Serenity staterooms. The locations were incredible but the rooms were small and my Cabin Stewards were hard to find.
    I sailed with family members in 3 different rooms in 2 different areas and none of us had the odor problems you did. It is very unfortunate that you had this problem and I too would find it off putting.
    As far as the food goes, one time it was good the other time fair, neither of which were really bad nor fantastic.
    Thank you again for taking the time to make this video and maybe we will see each other on a future cruise.

    The Sunshine is definitely stinky. I imagine that there are sewer pipes leaking in inaccessible parts of the ship. It seems like the crew uses deodorizers heavily on the first day, but it wears off and walking around the ship can give you the feeling like you walked into a bathroom after someone dropped off a ripe 12" brown trout.

      Instead of listening to someone who complained about EVERYTHING, including the heat and humidity in South Carolina (it's supposed to be hot and humid in the SOUTH!!!), listen to someone who has been on this ship seven times. Everybody has their own opinions of food on different ships. If she didn't like the food, that's her opinion. Me personally, I felt the food was no different on Sunshine than any of the other Carnival ships I've sailed. The bathrooms never smelled, the ice cream was fine. Forget it, I'm just gonna stop there. Don't let her pathetic 11 minutes of crying sway you from sailing Sunshine. Sunshine has what most cruisers consider the greatest Serenity deck in the entire Carnival fleet. It's three decks and has a beautiful waterfall. How come she didn't bother showing it? Because it didn't fit her narative of non stop bashing.

    • @frmcintosh

      I agree with the last comment. Of the 7 ships I’ve been on with CCL and RC, this is my favorite. Don’t let this video influence your decision. Yes the port of Charleston is pretty bad but the ship will be moving to Norfolk soon. The Sunshine is the best. Happy Cruising.

    Let's be fair, a couple of these things can't really be blamed on Carnival.
    Outside of the check-in issue, the poor embarkation experience is a port issue in Charleston. Just sounds like a poorly-managed process all the way around. You cheaped out on a guaranteed booking, so you got what they gave you. If room location was important, you should've chosen a booking where you pick your room and spent a little extra. The cruise pricing is an economic thing. The cheaper pricing that you referenced from two years ago was still pandemic recovery pricing. Absolutely nothing is the as cheap as it was two years ago, especially cruises and travel during peak months.

  • @nascarmadman
    @nascarmadman 16 днів тому

    FiL told us about Charleston cruises but we couldn't find one - there WERE cruise STOPS in Charleston. I guess it was the season we were looking for. Anyway, our second and last Carnival cruise was another FiL bucket list (and he left us at age 93 about 6 weeks later) to Bermuda. Hopefully, no more Carnival.
    We never had odor issues. But on our NCL Med Cruise in '23, the shower was just above 'trickle'.
    On the Carnvival Bermuda cruise, in the MDR we were offered something called "Striploin Steak" We kept saying to each other all week, “Well, it IS Carnival after all.” BUT, THE WORST steak I’ve had since I don’t know when. Worst cruise ship dining room meal EVER! Really bad cut of meat-VERY fatty, chewy and very thin.n On the other hand, the Lido deck offerings (including ''Guy's Burgers" or whatever was REALLY good and the other MDR nights weren't so bad.
    Calling soft serve ice cream "Ice Cream" should be illegal. I don't think there is even ONE ounce of cream or even dairy product in it. It's like "'American 'Cheese'". What an ABOMINATION!
    Prices on cruises are inching up since the pandemic. Imagine YOUR business being put on hold for more than a year. Ya gotta recoup that somehow and fast! But $750per ($212 per person per night) for an inside cabin for 6 days DOES seem a bit steep! Our upcoming balcony 16day THROUGH the P Canal is about $235 per person per day.

  • @thefirstgenesis4280
    @thefirstgenesis4280 20 днів тому +3

    For people complaining about noise in the cabins, buy and use some ear plugs. They are cheap and can save you from a bad experience from becoming worse. There is nothing you can control about the noise due to activities, parties, elevators going up and down, machinery, and obnoxious people roaming the halls.
    Also, my last time I went on a cruise was 30 years ago. There was hardly any issues with people making a fuss or causing problems in the hallways. Nowadays, individuals are more obnoxious and disrespectful now than in the past. Both the kids and the adults don't know how to act modestly or behave properly. Most can be attributed to drinking too much, but even the sober ones don't have any manners or respect. Blame the culture and the lack of morals in today's society. Again, invest in some ear plugs and drown out all the noise.

    You need to go on the Carnival Elation. The Sunshine is a bigger ship and I'm not sure which boat is older? FYI Carnival is leaving Charleston this year I believe? I live down the road and the local scuttle butt is the port just isn't working out.
    I have been on the Sunshine for a Southern Caribbean cruise of 8 days. When I was on the Sunshine it was out of Port Canaveral. I had an interior room. This was back in 2018, I looked it up when I did that cruise. I had none of the problems you describe. Some of what you describe doesn't have to do with the ship, loud people are not the fault of the cruise line. I have been on longer cruises which are less rowdy and I have been on booze cruises which is what you were on and those can be much louder in general. It all up to the crowd.

    • @Pantherjonvideos
      @Pantherjonvideos 19 днів тому

      I believe the Elation is one year older coming into service in 1995..And the port of Charleston is kind of giving the middle finger to Carnival by making most of the embarkation process take place in the tents in the parking lot(in one of the shots from the ship/gangway you can see the partially dismantled roof of what USED to be the 'cruise terminal' building, because they are basically kicking Carnival out of the port)..Charleston's loss is Norfolk's gain

      @@Pantherjonvideos If a port doesn't work then so be it. BTW I parked in front of the Elation. LOL. Literally, car, fence, dock, boat. Jacksonville only has the Elation and it needs to go under a bridge to get out in the ocean. Only one ship that fits under the bridge. It is not a big cruise ship like the Mari Gras, I was being kind of sarcastic about the Elation. I like the Elation for the old school small boat feel but your mileage may vary.

    Since you have Cruise numerous time, I cannot believe that you did not immediately go to guest services and start complaining about all your issues. Your remark about carnival having the best food in the past? I’ve taken 40 cruises several of them on carnival and I never say that carnival has the best cruise in the cruising ships Industry. To me carnival has been going downhill for the last 15 years or so they’re putting all their money into making new ships and jacking everything up and not giving anything decent to the passengers on their sailings. I usually don’t complain about things on our ships and all the 40 years we have been sailing on cruise ships. But after hearing of your complaints, I definitely would’ve not gone past the first day Without going to guest services and telling them a thing or two. Especially the bathroom that is disgusting anytime your bathroom water is not draining properly. They are supposed to relocate you to a new cabin. I have heard so many people complaining about this and everybody almost gets moved immediately. Very sad but carnival is not the ship that we will ever be going on after our last cruise on the miracle which is also one of the oldest ships in the carnival fleet! Food was never that good and carnival is to me a low class ship and there is lots of people that go on there and think that it’s a free babysitting, Cruise kids are unruly, screaming up and down the halls all the time on every carnival ship we have been on. That’s why we have decided to make Princess our regular cruise ship from now onwith a Holland ship thrown in there now and then for a peaceful calming enjoyable cruise. Good luck maybe you need to get away from carnival for a while also! Happy cruising in the future.
