    I really appreciate that you test base models, especially in the case of the Camry, where the base model has a substantially better ride quality and EPA rating compared to the upper trims. Nearly every other reviewer received an AWD XSE model, so the sportier handling version with significantly lower MPG is the only new Camry we hear about. Meanwhile, the LE goes unnoticed and unmentioned, despite having the quietest interior, the plushest ride, the best MPG by far, the lowest running costs, and an msrp that's about $12,000 lower than that of a fully loaded XSE. We're talking a full one-third less expensive, and the LE is the functionally superior model.

    Those wheels are perfectly fine. I am old and retired, but if I was still doing my 70 mile daily round trip work commute, this car would be on my list. Kirk...extra credit for getting up so early for the review of the lights. Not sure why they bother with anything other than LED's but the incandescent lights work. No biggie.

    Yes you are correct, Toyota may change how they do things in the future but up until recently the Toyota base model has always been the fastest because it weighs the least and has the same powertrain as a higher trims. For example, in the 1997-2001 generation Camry the base model (CE V6) was the only trim of that generation that was available with both a V6 and manual transmission.

      I think the larger/heavier wheels have more of a negative effect on performance than the increased total weight of the cars. Most people don’t know that larger wheels have a significant negative effect on mileage and acceleration; I’m glad Kirk points this out and I wish more reviewers emphasized this fact, especially in vehicles that are meant to be efficient.

They are eerily beautiful, both alien and inviting. You stop in the middle of the street before you launch your 0 - 60 time. Showing the lights, especially in the interior, is an important consideration when deciding which car to buy. I hope you continue these night driving reviews. Also, I think your Lexus LC 500 review was the best review you've ever done! You love cars so much and the Lexus moved you to tears. You never see this in car reviews. • @arsyadidris6349
      @arsyadidris6349 5 місяців тому

      The issue sometimes is getting access to those bulbs. And even toyota is guilty of this crime of making access to smthing as simple as a lightbulb difficult.
      I from southeast asia and our asia pacific estima minivan… oh boy. U need to remove the plastic clading of the front wheel well, and then feel ur way to the back of the headlamp to get access. A simple 5 min job u can do on ur own with basically no tools suddenly becomes 30min of crouching over n lots of swearing😅.
      I mean, its not as insane as some Audis n porsches, where - if im not mistaken - u literally have to remove the front bumper, n then remove the headlamp to access the lightbulb assembly.

    LE will accelerate faster than all other trims with the I4 engine except the L (lower curb weight).
    LE has the best ride due to the 17 inch wheels & tires (taller tire sidewalls).
    LE can give better mpg (lower weight & smaller/lighter wheels and tires).
    LE does not have the pano (less high weight-->less body roll-->better handling & less chance of water leaks/intrusion).
    LE has a manual parking brake (works with good battery, dead battery, or no battery in the vehicle).

      Honda could easily change some soft areas of the Accord to quickly improve its looks and compete better with the Camry. The Accord front is the same design direction as the Rest-of-World HR-V - which is different from the US HR-V. The HR-V RS in Japan has a better lower bumper/grill treatment and fog lights that could be ammended onto the Accord. Also, I prefer the rear light design of the HR-V RS better than the US Accord, and I would substitute a version of that to make the Accord less generic. Otherwise, Accord needs better light color interior w/ exterior color combinations and a few more features across all trims so it doesn't appear too basic. All of these are do-able without great cost at a refresh point, which should be sooner rather than later, Honda.

    It is a fine car but they need to stop forcing the moonroof upgrade on anyone wanting ventilated seats, sports tuning or upgraded audio. The moonroof doesn't open for cooling, lowers your headroom, increases your chance of skin cancer, creates additional shards of glass in a serious crash, increases your chance of a water leak, and makes you give up the sunglass holder. If it weren't for that I'd definitely get it - no why would I pay more for something that is a complete dunsel.

    I am definitely considering the LE in ocean gem with the convenience package I was thinking about an XLE but nah the LE has me sold. As the owner of a 2020 LE gasoline I’m sold my 20 LE has been and will continue to be a great car so much more you can do with an LE cosmetically to make it much more like its upper trim siblings.

    The 16-in rims are not dorky at all. It will ride better than any other model. When the tires need replacing they will be the most economical to replace.
    What does rims and the base model actually say is; " I have money and I know where to put my money, and going for extra Flash for others makes no sense."
    This is the best value, it's solid good looking and not too overly gingerbread like, I would 100% go with this model over any other.

      The reason why it's faster has to do with the wheels than anything else, lower rolling resistance.. And also helps it get better gas mileage. So if you have an XSE you want the same results, just put on more efficient wheels. And not only would you get the same results, but you also have all around a lot better handling. Over the LE .

    What do you think that the new generation is still using the original TNGA chassis, while the new generation prius is using the 2nd generation TNGA chassis? Economically it makes sense since prius is lower volume, but it sucks that there were no chassis changes in the camry, despite outselling the prius 4 to 1

    Excellent! Thorough review!! I just put 1k down on a 2025 LE AWD with the cold weather and convenience package. I’m told my monthly payments will be $540 based on 72 months with a 4.99 interest rate. My monthly payment id supposed to include interest and all fees. Was I ripped off or does that sound fair? I went to four dealerships and they all lied.

    • @NoName-gv6nm
      @NoName-gv6nm 25 днів тому

      Not necessarily ripped off. 4.9 is a decent rate these days. But all dealers lie and deceive. They want your money. Pay it off and keep it for 15 years and you'll come out on top.
