- This is the first time I've ever cooked and tasted kangaroo meat. I used some ground kangaroo meat to make a couple of kangaroo burgers. Watch and see what our opinion of these kangaroo burgers is. Be sure to check out my easycooking channel for more easy cooking and recipes.
Kangaroo is delicious. A lot of people here won't eat it because ... well, beloved national animal and all, but it's fantastic. Much better for you than beef too.
The trick is not to cook it for too long. It's definitely meant to be cooked med-rare.
Nice! I've never had kangaroo meat. I've tried ostrich meat, shark meat, and alligator jerky, I love trying different stuff like that.
Thanks! Yeah, it is fun trying different types of exotic meat!
That's awesome Jim! You did a great job with those burgers. They look really good. I've never had Kangaroo before. Sounds very interesting. You rock Jim. Great to see Mrs TinMann as well. I love this vid. And thank you for the mention my friend.
Smokes A Rollin Thanks Russ! Thank you for your support and encouragement. I really appreciate it!
You don't need to thank me. Be proud of yourself! You're a great guy and a killer cook. I never miss a view my friend! Never. Cheers
Great video. I made a Kangaroo-Burger myself, it's really a nice meat. Never tried Cola-Onions, though, but I'll give them a shot. Thanks for sharing, mate...
It was fun to try the kangaroo! Thanks for watching!
Great looking burgers, Jim! I've never eaten kangaroo meat before, but if I ever find some I'll give that burger a try!
Greg McCutchan Thanks Greg! It's the first time I've seen it in a store.
Terrific looking burgers there TinMan!.
***** Thanks!
I just bought a pound of Kangaroo meat today here in Cincinnati. I'm going to follow this recipe!
Nice
Jim, Come on....you have eaten kangaroo before. You know, McDonalds burgers! LOL! Great video. Enjoyed :)
Tess Cooks 4u LOL Thanks Tess!
I've heard that, too! I've also heard they found human flesh in the meat at McDonalds. I don't know if that's true.
Very cool Jim! I want to try roo burgers now!!
Thanks Larry! It's always fun to try something new!
Yum TinMan, I can see one of those kangaroo burgers hopping right into my mouth right now!
LOL Thanks Robert!
These sure looked Good! TosTinMan EasyCooking
Thank you!
Cool TinMan! I tried kangaroo steaks a few years back. The meat was kinda tough, but enjoyable. The waiter told me that they overnighted them from Australia each day.
I Just Like To Cook Interesting. It's always fun to try something new!
You and the Wifey jumping around the house after eating them? Great Video! :)
OldManCooking LOL Thanks Oldman.:)
Kangaroo meat is an acquired taste and has to be seasoned up really well. Those coca cola onions would have helped a lot also. Love that sauce Jim.
Thanks Angie! We tried it plain the next day but liked much it much better in burgers. It'a a little strong tasting on it's own.
I saw you cook this before but it's even tastier this time! Smokes A Rollin knew what he was doing with the Coca Cola onions! It was fun watching this again! You did great!
Thanks John!
Sprouts had Kangaroo meat. I have never heard of such a thing. I have had alligator, bison, deer, brains, tongue but never Kangaroo. I'm going to Sprouts A.S.A.P. I always keep an open mind for things. Thank you TTM :) A "BIG" thumbs up. Right into my CULINARY playlist. Tell the Mrs.Tin Man I said hello. ROCK ON!!!!!
Thanks!:) I enjoy your enthusiasm! I'll tell Mrs. Tin Man you said Hi!
Kangaroo is one of the best meats for sure! Almost fat free and tastes great!
BVargas78 Yeah, it's very lean and tastes pretty good!
Wow! I've never tried kangaroo. It looks great.
Since you and Mrs Tinman both gave it a thumbs up it must have been good.
It was good but we did try it plain and it's better with condiments on it.
EZGlutenFree McDonald's make kangaroo meat every day
That was interesting....good video !!!!
Cookin with Surfin Sapo Thank you! I'm not giving beef for it but fun to try.
mrs tin man was awesome. great that your wife is adventurous like you. my wife would a run out the back door
Nice. Tinman rocked 3 new things at once. I'd have done burger with sides and more description on what he tastes from the meat would have been better but loved it. Smart pairings (is it a trifecta to group 3 focal points?). Anyways, exactly what I needed to hear.
Wow TinMan!! This is the first video I've seen of yours, and I'm hooked already!! I *love* your whole deal brother... Super cool, super easy watching, and kickass food.... You can expect alot of comments from me on your older & newer videos in the near future!!! As far as the Roo goes, I'd love to try this stuff, especially since ya'll didn't make it sound too bad. I had roo jerky a few months ago and loved the game flavor it had... Anything different is always good in my bo0k!! Now, wheres the video that gives me the origin of where this YT name comes from? Hahaha, Cheers bud!!
This is Whats for Dinner Thanks! I really appreciate that. I do have a few videos that explain my screen name. I have thoracic outlet syndrome or TOS which affects the nerves in my arms and when I'm in pain I don't move around very good. Kind of like the tin man in the wizard of oz. That's how I came up with that name but nobody gets it. Thanks a lot for watching in commenting!
I wish I could get my hands on some kangaroo meat. Really want to try them, bison & camel meal.
Sprouts Market carries a lot of exotic meats. That's where I found this.
Me too
I've never tasted Kangaroo meat, but I head it's high in protein and extremely low in fats. Have to try it one day :)
Jack Trix Yeah, I think it's pretty healthy. Thanks for commenting!
TosTinMan EasyCooking Yeah they are. They are all wild shot/caught too because they can't be farmed but they are seriously everywhere outside of cities.
Hmmm, I may or may not try 'Roo sometime. I hear it tastes a lot like liver... Liver is one of the few things I simply don't like, so we'll see. Good video, though!
SmokeyGoodness Thanks! We ate the other 2 patties plain and it's definitely better in a burger. It's got kind of a strong flavor on it's own.
You cover anything in that many other flavors and it’ll taste good. Haha
Hi, Mrs. Tin Man!
I read that Australia has more Kangaroos than people and that it is good cheap meat there (prices maybe cheaper in Australia than America).
MarvelDcImage Wow! That's a lot of Kangaroos. Thanks for commenting!
MarvelDcImage HAHA ARE YOU SERIOUS? THERE IS A FAIR FEW BUT UNLESS YOU'RE IN THE OUTBACK/BUSH OR RURAL AREAS, YOU BARELY SEE THEM AT ALL
+Future Prospectz Yeh but take into account about 80-90% of Australia is bushland or desert, we barely inhabit it.
Ted D THAT IS TRUE, WHERE I LIVE AT THE MOMENT THERE'S NONE AT ALL, BUT WHEN I LIVED IN KILMORE VICTORIA USED TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR AND THERE WOULD BE ATLEAST A DOZEN IN THE YARD EACH MORNING HAHA
Great vid. Does it tastes like deer meat (venison) ?
+Boeing777er I guess it's a little bit similar.
+TosTinMan EasyCooking thanks. I will definitely try this dish
This is another video that I had to re-edit and re-upload so I apologize if you've seen it already.
Kangaroo is awesome in Australia we get the steaks too don't know if you can get em in America but they are great. But a kangaroo steak has to be rare to medium rare because it becomes very tough when overdone. You can get emu too but man it's really gamey not something I would recommend.
I just realized aswell ours is fresh i'm assuming yours might have been transported frozen so I don't know if that changes the taste.
Ted D Yes, this was frozen. I've never seen kangaroo steaks around here, just the ground stuff. Thanks for commenting!
Looks really good. I wonder if it would taste good with some BBQ sauce!
+Jacob Fisher Thanks! It probably would!
I thought I saw you do a video on these already?
Kelly Carpenter You did. I had to re-edit and re-upload it because the views got run up. You know, the usual UA-cam B.S.
TosTinMan EasyCooking Oh ok no problem I watched it again! :)
The burgers looked awesome, Jim! I actually have never had kangaroo meat, either, but it would be fun to try. I'm sure Coke onions were awesome on top!
~Sam
Smokin' Low Carb Thanks! Yeah, they turned good!
Most roo meat sold comes from mature bucks/males, because of stupid laws governing harvesting. Meat from a young roo takes it to a new level.
Shameful thing is that most roos shot/culled are left to rot.
omg. Eating our national treasure. can't support this.
trump will eat that with a knife and fork lol...nice and sloppy, just like i like a burger. Gonna try the Coke and onions, fo sho
Thanks for watching!
