The factory intake is a true cold air intake, this is a short ram intake that still sucks in hot engine bay air

Will this affect at the time you do you smog check?

Since this intake does not effect your vehicles emissions like a catalytic converter delete or exhaust system would, you shouldn't have to worry about it effecting any sort of emission checks. This kit is *not* CARB certified though, so if you live in California it most likely will not pass smog checks. -Zach
