Lol it reminds me of when Atomic Samurai challenged King to slash an apple in One Punch Man web comic, then King just sat in front of the apple for several minutes, placed the sword down and walked away while sweating profusely hoping that Atomic Samurai and his students buy his bluff (which Atomic Samurai actually did and thought that King had moved so quick that he did not notice him move at all and slashed the apple at a precise area and speed wherein the apple did not break 😂)

I’ll always remember that when I got to this fight, I waited too long to attack, just taking in the moment, and Sephiroth attacked and died to my counterattack materia. Extremely anticlimactic.
If you were referring to the original final fight, it’s not because of the counterattack Materia. It’s because Cloud is actually programmed to counter Sephiroth if he attacks first
Cloud would counter the attack anyway. Even if you didnt had the materia.

Try to use these combinations to beat Hacked Sephiroth:
1.)Use Ultima Weapon + Wizard Amulet to do these combinations.
2.)Use 6 sets of Counter + Mime, 1 set of Counter + Full Cure & 1 set of Final Attack + Mastered revive and get yourself being All Lucky 7s or charge your Limit and then use Omnislash immediately and it will automatically use Omnislash 7 times because of Counter + Mime, if Sephiroth use Octaslash (Sephiroth's Omnislash version) it will revive you up, if he use Meteor Cloud will get healed because of Full Cure (maybe).
3.)Same as 1st Option, but if you're Max HP is 7777 use 7 sets of Counter + Mime & 1 set of Final Attack + Mastered Revive or 6 sets of Counter + Mime & 2 sets of Final Attack + Mastered Revive.
4.)Use 4 sets of Final Attack + Mastered Revive to revive you 20 times
5.) Use 1 set of Magic materia (KOR, Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Quake and more) + HP Absorb / MP Turbo, 1 set of Magic materia + MP Absorb & 2 sets of Magic materia + 4X Cut on a time that you use a Magic materia that was based on a combination that makes it repeated 8 times and let you healed / increase damage of it & receive MP at the same time.
5.)Use both combinations of 4th & 5th options. :D
6.)Use a Ribbon to prevent the ability of Curse and Slaughter of a Virgin.
Hope this helps you beat him down easily.

I like the way Sephiroth uses "Octaslash" by sliding himself towards Cloud, then shoots multiple times like a gatling gun using the edge of his sword, with additional one hit at the end, while making Cloud dance.
That Octaslash looks so epic!
I love how there are more polygons in Sephiroth's hair, than all the character models whole body.

He wouldn't last two minutes in the Dragonball world they're already planet busters in the Saiyan Saga. Sephiroth needed to use a spell to try to make a huge crater in the planet most Dragonball characters can do that by charging an half decent Ki blast.

Doesn’t make much sense also. Because Sephiroth had just been beaten to a pulp by what seems to be an array of Ultima, Debarriers and plenty of high level spells. No way his stats are that high
His stats can be as high or low as anyone wants here. This fight happens in Clouds mind.
I love CoS, and the battle against Soma was so dramatic especially with the music

It'd be nice to have a hardcore mode for the entire game. As soon as you beat all the weapons the game offers zero challenges and the sephiroth battle before this one doesn't even last a minute.
How did Sephiroth cast Meteor on you if he already used the Black Materia to summon Meteor on the Planet?

Another viciously difficult hack you've made. This one doesn't quite seem as puzzle-themed as the others but we'll see. He seems to react to everything with Cure3/Meteor/Shield or a mix of the three. When you showed his death, I was surprised you didn't add some cheap final attack to the AI as always... and then he [his ghost?] busts out with that.
Nice setup, though, and beyond that, nice choice. This should have been a battle instead of a cinematic experience in the original game.

Well then, what about : Final Attack + Mime, Final Attack + Mine, Final Attack + Life
Miming Omnislash (the goal being defeat the beast before Phase 3 or 4)
So basically : 4 cut -3k (due to cure3, useful to make sure he uses Octaslash after), Heroes Drink * 4, Omnislash -90k (take Octaslash) Omnislash * 2 -180k
(take Octaslash) Omnislash * 2 win ^^
That's cheap anyway but challenge will wait for later :P

this battle could had been epic if it wasn't for the fact that the music is too faster. sephiroth music normally is fine. other than that nice hacking.

very good hack with high difficulty by the way.
Let's see if in the remake the developers decide to do something of this style for the final fight against him or put a high difficulty option to have a fight in a similar way to this hack.

Octaslash is used after being hit for 70 000 ~ 100 000 damage
I first thought it was supossed to go from Phase 1 to Phase 2 once it did all Phase 1 attacks, but as he starts Phase 2 (aka Meteor Spamming) before Ultima, it's likely it goes into Phase 2 after using Octaslash or (and ?) after being hit by a Limit.
If it is the second choice, then avoiding Omnislash sounds good... but a bit too easy

No. I never uploaded a video for this. Mainly, because this enemy is actually easier compared to my other hacks. I might return to making more at some point.

If nobody minds me asking...how do you do the glitch where if you die, you can revive yourself? Or is it not a glitch, but something actually done in game automatically if you have a certain item equipped?

Yeah, it's not a glitch. Combine Final Attack support materia with either Revive or Phoenix summon (keeping in mind that summons have limited uses, as does Final Attack itself).
friartwig he says in the vid that Sephy has some Elemental affiliations, one could be fire hence not using Phoenix
+Christopher Luther the way to avoid this is to have multiple final attack revive/phoenix equiped in weapons/armour (preferrably mastered) to either have the hpmp combo as well

Hum his normal attack kinda suck and as he counters everything I would say Counter Materia is the way to go (and it's kind of a reference to the original fight where you auto-counter if attacked.... suits you ^^)
I watch the vid only once (and in fact I jumped once or twice) so I can't say how the Octaslash is trigerred, probably after a number of received attack (which will make my previous strat even better) or after a number of turn (then Final Attack + Revive is mandatory)

I always found the final final confrontation a little disappointed. But it was more a symbolic fight to finish the conflict between Cloud and Sephiroth.
I liked it. It made sense. Stripped of his stolen power, the only *real* power he had was his reputation, force of will and his influence over Cloud. Cloud had fought long and hard enough that he had exceeded Sephiroth in both power and will-and most importantly, had banished the demons that Sephiroth created in his mind.
The final battle is inside Cloud's mind. It represents the conclusion of him overcoming his past.

Since none of the normal attack are OHKO, going all-out with CounterAttack Materia may be effective.... In fact Defense won't matter much in that case (Octaslash can't be survived, -ga spell plain sucks, HyperNova is MAX HP based)

@Lindaru the problem is, there is no PC version of ff9, it's very very difficult to hack the roms. It's really not worth the effort.

1) It's at 150% speed. If you get a video speed controller just drop it down to 0.7 speed.

The thing is, this is not suposed to be a challenge.
This is the final battle we should have gotten! Not the 1hp insta omnislash from the vanilla game.
It wasn't even one HP, someone hacked their attacks to do zero damage once and it still killed Sephiroth.
+kylele23 That's cause the last version of Sephiroth will die to anything. Someone hacked to have all their commands, used STEAL, and Sephiroth still died.
