If you have a character far away from Sephiroth when he starts Octoslash, like Barret here, you can switch to them and use a Synergy skill (R1 + Button) to teleport any unchained character right next to them and out of harm's way. It works as long as the character in question isn't in hitstun or a named attack animation.
This is something I don't see mentioned often, this is an amazing tool to reposition. I love to do this to reposition Aerith on the opposite side of her seals with another character, then keep building ATB and TP back to the seal when the ennemies come at you.
Good good good ! Synergy , teleport, reposition, whatever! give me 😂 just need the chance to win this man , he's always live in another dimension of us 😅
@@DavideBattisti I think you can, but tbh for Shadowy Chains it's really easy to switch to the targeted character and perfect block. Shadowy Chains is really easy to perfect block once you get the hang of it
This block method saved me. One of the most unfair boss fights i've seen in quite some time. Not only should you not be shadow chained for so long if you get hit with it, but you should be able to esuna or something out of it. Maybe even break the shadowbinds if you parry one. Theres absolutely no reason why it should last 2-3 minutes and an eventual death just because you have bad parry timing. When i did this challenge, i fucked up when he was about 65%, had Aerith stunned (main dmg dealer) and yuffie was dead. Luckily i parried 3 shadowbinds in a row with Barret, had 2 ATBS, so i raised Yuffie, then casted manawall. Aerith was luckily at Full health and almost died. By then, i switched to yuffie, got a heal off, switched back to barret to go on the defense again. I parried a few more times to get 2 ATBs, fully healed, and then slowly got him past 50%. After that, it was smooth sailing.. but my butt was clenched during that 15%.. lol
Yeah this and Gilgamesh are no sense. This challenge in particular is so unfair. There's a ton of artificial difficulty that freaks me out. FFs shouldn't be like this, not even talking about strategy but perfect time parry every single fucking time.
@@uncavallo2580 I'm currently on this challenge and just got pasr the ghilgamesh part two times today. I was using tifa level limit break tifa, barret and cloud party. For ghili I don't think I even blocked anything. Just was building up ATB limit and slapping protect magnify wtih a few resists on to help prevent stone or the frog moves. I would press the X button often to calm myself down and realize if I could siphon the limit break or not and kept up with the healling. I should maybe try to get off some more fira or firaga spells off to see if that pressures ghili more often but just was happy to get past that part. Had Ghili at liek 65 to 70 percent health when I was able to play a week ago. My issues is I didn't have the transfer the limit gauge amount to others materia and had my level 3 attack on clound not tifa. I guess I never realized that the limit break max on Tifa had incressed stagger as well. Also tried to now use just like this person did that ATB two moves to pop more ATB to characters. ATB boosting on the other two characters. I thought I needed to have two moves done in quick sucsession but at least they can vary fo that ATB assist materia. Good to know. Writting down my load outs NOW so some way if I screwed something up I have MY setup in place. Spent too long trying to figure out my items and materia setup to get it kinda right.
Got to septh 5 times. My third time I had some time to practice this. I need more practice to switch characters and stuff. I just need to calm down a bit. LOL.
I wouldn't call it unfair because you can use conventional mechanics to beat him. I just think that they should've had a checkpoint marker so you wouldn't have to go back to square one every single time lol
Great tip! This move will be the bane of many players since it ends such an arduous run of battles, so this should be passed around. Not to mention it helps coach people to be more confident trying to block enemy hits.
"Arduous" is such an apt description of this run- the devs really did their thing here. By the time you get to Sephiroth your reaction times have been pushed to the limit. The first time he chained up my whole party and wiped us out like bugs I ALMOST found it funny.
The sad part is, the fight before this is not at all easy. It’s much worse than Virtual Sephiroth in my opinion since Sephiroth only does Shadowy Chains for the first half of his health bar.
@@BrothaJMI very much agree. I hear lots of people are beating Gilgamesh though but Sephiroth is checkmating them. If you'd like some tips on Gilgamesh, I have a full guide I uploaded just before this video
@@BrothaJM Yes, having just cleared Normal Gilgamesh at lv60, it was an exciting battle for sure. But even that battle made me heal a few times and got very dicey near the end. Without the pressure of resetting 3 other fights, retrying and practicing his fight has been very enjoyable, and I made a hard save just before him to do it any time. The goal is to practice his Normal fight enough to make his Hard fight more manageable in the sim and lower the number of resets on the gauntlet. I found Odin + Alexander to be more hectic and tough to pin down than Gilgamesh due to their duality and trying to keep everyone safe while keeping Odin pressured. However, they were much easier opponents individually than Gilgamesh for sure. I think Gilgamesh is actually a brilliant and fair boss fight that is tough in the right ways. Way better than Weiss in execution, who just had cheap gimmicks and could be trivialized easily once you countered them. There seems to be no "easy" counter to Gilgamesh. You can Poison him, which is hugely helpful, and debuff his attack and defense. But that burns precious MP and that's a serious consideration when your inability to heal restarts 4 difficult fights. Its honestly just the pressure of a 5-battle gauntlet that makes both bosses feel so overwhelming. If they were solo battles, they would be fun, easy to learn, and still be an achievement to win. Battle gauntlets with no checkpoints just aren't great for the fun factor of a game.
Excellent breakdown on shadowychains! This was the run killer and i just got lucky when i managed it. Wish i knew the timing and trick back then. I appreciate the detailed breakdownand explanation on mechanics.
Beat the fight today, thanks to you. The slow motion helped me fluke my way through. Insane how easy phase 2 is simply because that move is essentially gone. Never EVER doing it again. Ended up using Cloud, Tifa and Aerith. I cant help myself. Using Cloud and Tifas synergy for unlimited mp, and then casting reraise on everyone for free saved me so many times against junk like Bahamut, Odin and Gilgamesh on the way to Sephiroth.
Man, this gave me the A-ha moment I’ve been looking for! I really appreciate the breakdown here, finally cleared up the timing for me and got it locked down this morning! Cheers!
Seriously man, this worked like a charm. Got it the second time round with your technique. Thank you for explaining your method in a clear and concise manner and taking your time with the instructions. Thanks again.
I got to this fight ONCE after several days trying to beat the other summons before it. Once I died, I immediately came here to find out how this stupid move operates because I am NOT about to spend 15-20 mins of obnoxious fights each time leading up to this just for a CHANCE to figure out how to defend against it. It was really uncalled for how they designed this.
It's not worth it at all I have personally spent 4 months failing this challenge I went to hardmode and did 10 chapters and then came back and kept failing I use the best guide on the internet and then I still failed I followed everything exactly I finally got past Gilgamesh and now I feel comfortable fighting him I immediately die after the first binding even if I have everything set up it doesn't matter he still uses the move again and people say that you can stun him but you can't I have tried five times now double cast firaga. He uses the move anyway. I'm not sure what's wrong with people or why they lie on the internet because they could get it done personally but some people just will never get it done that's you and me
Same bro, it took me a week just to get to septh with no guide. But once he killed me with Shadowy chains I was like nah bruh, we looking up how to deal with that. It takes so long just to get to him.
Props to you for taking the time and actually practicing how to counter all his moves. I could never bother to try to counter those shadowy chains since Octoslash is so devastating and having to redo that long gauntlet from the start takes so long so I wasnt motivated to test what works and what doesn't and instead just cheesed my way out with atb ward.
I've been using the ATB ward method for months and when I finally finished Gilgamesh for the eighth time and got to sephiroth I realized that I'm never going to beat him. There currently does not exist a strategy guide on the entire internet that explains how to stun him before the first Shadow chain attack or after there is just no way I even have the buttons mapped so I'm doing it about three times faster than anybody else does it make any fucking sense? If the only way is to perfect block or parry, I'm not doing it. probably about 100 to 200 people that aren't going to buy the third game because of this bullshit.
Sir, your video helped me get better at just perfect parrying his moves without the stop and start with the attack screen. Thanks for pointing out what I need to look for! I had trouble with Seph a bit yesterday and then watched your video. This morning, I beat the entire Rulers of the Outers Worlds on my first attempt. I had him focus on me with Tifa the whole time while Barrett and Aerith were tied up by chains. Perfect parried every single Shadowy Chains with Tifa except for one. Liked the video, 🍻 cheers! For anyone struggling with Seph, you for sure need to perfect party him just to build up his stagger meter. It’s a bit of a waiting game, just stay patient and keep on him when you get the chance.
Wow, I dont know why it never occurred to me to use the Tactic Menu to slow down animations to time parry attacks. I've been timing everything at full speed my past 180 hours' worth of gameplay. Between that and knowing his foot faces the target, this is gonna help me so much when I go back into this. Thanks!
Dude, just thought you should know you helped another person finish this BS. Once I finally started parrying Shadowy Chains, this fight was nothing. For those that are still having issues, it looks like once you get Sephiroth to change his elemental affinity (around half health), he doesn't use Shadowy Chains as much and leans more on strong magic. He's gonna start with Firaga, so if you have Elemental-Fire in your armor, you've basically won the fight. Just keep at it! If I can do it, everyone can. Thanks again, Aethertruck! I think you're the only one that spent time talking about how to deal with Shadowy Chains. You're GOAT'd for that. Subbed.
I first tried the outer worlds after watching this video with the parry strats, this was super consistent. I ran Yuffie instead of Aerith but the idea is the same. Barrett was so huge in the Sephy fight. If you're having trouble out there, take frequent breaks and do not get discouraged.
Yeah Barret can eat like 5 octaslashes from full health with this beefy build and steelskin/barrier up. I'd like to try a version of this build that focuses on making him even harder to kill for people that can't parry well but he's got such a small mana pool for raises I don't think I could make it effective
When I reached Seph I was thinking he was gonna be like the story version. I was like I got this. Then I proceeded to get shadow chained to oblivion. Got it in my second try with your guide. Thanks for looking out ✌️
Hope this video gets the attention it deserves. I resigned myself to not being able to beat Outer Worlds because I didn’t want to do the Brumal Form spam. After banging my head against the wall for weeks, someone sent me this and wow, unbelievably helpful. And doesn’t feel cheesy. Salute to you sir
Thing is though is I’m gladly using the Brumal form method because the way I see it if square enix wants to make a bs broken right then I will gladly return the favor by breaking it myself lmao Yuffie is goated
Give this man a bone!❤ This sephiroth challenge was a game of patience (Hit Me Not!) Just block his shadow chains. After 3/4 of his life he most cast magic! Thumbs up and a like for you bro. You deserve a gold metal!!❤
My first 5 or 6 attempts I was nervous too. After I got my first couple kills I stopped getting nervous. Nothing special about me, just hundreds of hours lol
I FINALLY BEAT Virtual Sephiroth! I used Cloud, Barrett, & Tifa. All I needed to do was have Barrett cast Barrier-All twice & I was able survive Virtual Sephiroth’s Octaslash each time. It was awesome. My final attack was EPIC!!! Cloud’s Limit Break Ascension occurred right after Sephiroth’s Limit Break cutscene for Octaslash. The game let Cloud first & & I won! 😂 I never parried Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains once. 1. Barrett cast Barrier-All 2x. 2. Tifa’s armor: Cetran Armlet 3. Tifa: Tranference Module 4. Cloud: Limit Booster 5. Cloud cast Regan-all at the beginning of each battle. 6. Tifa cast Haste-all at the beginning of each battle. It only took me 30hrs 😂 I couldn’t beat Sephiroth’s Shadow Chains & I kept having stupid deaths to Alexander, Odin, & Gilgamesh.
Firaga launches him into the stratosphere and by the time he lands and gets back up, you can relaunch. Recommend Aerith with Genji Gloves, fire+magic focus x2, fire+swift cast, fire+mp absorb, with plumrose rod and magic plus materia. Double cast it on her arcane ward, have a radiant ward under her too so she's invuln while casting and builds atb faster too
I did about 20 casts worth of testing and it seemed pretty clear that magic focus can't stack with itself on the same materia. If I'm wrong about that I'll eat a shoe leather. You can however boost her further by using trancendence which boosts her magic by 20% at level 2, and you can give her faith to boost by 50%
You basically trivialised stage 5 and i LOVE that. I was using unfettered fury on tifa during my clear and i was making him flinch loads after parries, (she throws out charged punches super fast building stagger).
I f'ing love you... this way too f'ing long but I was able to perfect parry with my active character everytime. Was even able to switch to other characters right before he struck to go into the command menu and pull this genius move.
Yeah this looks like a fight I'll HAVE to learn how to parry, because, yeah while magnify manawall is cool and all, what does sephiroth do right after octaslash? Another shadowy chains immediately, that just ain't fair. Anyway this guide has helped, and funnily enough I used the same method with the 3D Brawler Sephiroth boss.
This somewhat works for Gilgamesh also with more dodging. Sephiroth feels way safer once you get used to him and you can mess up a lot more in round 5 and still pull it back together if you just parry Sepphy for a while and heal up. I didn't have any elemental defense on Aerith so I could make room for swiftcast/lightning and was able to interrupt the chains a good chunk of the time with thundagas
Ok, I've been cheesing the 1st 4 fights with brumal form, does it work the same for all characters? My team is currently the girls with a firaga build.
This works fine but then he starts casting it without the attack animation, he sends a dark Orb towards me and stuns my party that way. I can't even get atb ward down
Finally beat that fucker last night. Team was Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie (no Brumal form used). It was the 3rd time I made it to him and I certainly couldn't get the perfect block every time (because I'm bad at seeing where he's aiming and switching characters in time), but the few times I did perfect block, helped me survive to the elemental affinity part. I did pull off a stagger potency synergy attack as my saving grace (yo we were about to DIE) and one last limit break to seal the deal. Aaaaaand then I realized I forgot to use Assess on him SMH. Took me 4 more tries to get back to him and use Assess. Good riddance to this challenge. Thanks for this.
Lol I forgot to assess him my first time too. I had no idea I'd be fighting him 50+ more times for guides and fun. It feels so silly now that I worried back then.
I guess if you have good reactions, you could not even move when he does shadow chain. I just stand there directly in front of him, and once i see any movement, i just press block, and i perfect parry every time. I wasn't aware of the shadow chain standing. i thought it was automatic, but i learned it's not.
The ball has a variable travel time, but the dash version does not have a variable travel time. It has a variable dash speed and the time between the "start" of the dash, and the bind, is always the same. Making distance just makes it easier to measure, but you can absolutely be using attacks with Barret or Tifa if you're comfortable with the timing
I thought it was called a perfect guard or something like that, wouldn't a parry be denying his attack with your own weapon attack? Either way, thanks for showing this, it's so hard to guard well in this game!
Is it repeatable? It's the final side quest so I don't want to have to complete every side quest again just to try it again. But I've heard some people have fairly OP strats to deal with the tonberries. Everyone needs to equip karmic cowls or safety bits to deal with all the instant death stuff. Tonberries kinda tickle with chef's knife when you shut down the instant death
Nothing is working for me. As soon as the battle starts he dashes to me. Hits me then uses a projectile version that always hits me. He never does the melee version.
His script makes him use Shadowy Chains once every 10-20 seconds. It's forced and predictable, so every 10-15 seconds you need to just stop and wait. When he uses Shadowy Chains he has a higher chance of picking the melee version. The projectile version comes out much faster, so you need to anticipate it, and enter the tac menu immediately and just wait. Everything he does is blockable except Shadowy Chains, Skewer, and Octaslash. He always opens with something blockable, so just block when the fight starts. Blocking gives a lot of ATB with steadfast block materia
@@markliao5678 I don't know for sure whether you can start holding block immediately after the time slow. My guess is probably but I never tested it that way. The timing window for the perfect block is much bigger than I make it sound as long as you have precision defense focus materia. I guarantee you'll nail this block on your first attempt.
I just have the most awful RNG. First time he interrupted Aerith's ATB Ward cast, absolutely unsalvageable. Second time, Manaward ended literally halfway through Octoslash. Anything goes wrong in this fight it's an automactic loss.
If you had Barret with the build I showcased then he easily survives and can rez Aerith. Tifa even lives if she's full health. Next time start the fight by running away from Aerith use barrier (he doesn't use magic damage til phase 2) first and don't use barrier til he starts hitting someone else. Refresh barrier every octoslash for safety. ATB ward lasts a very long time, it doesn't need to be the first thing you do.
Silly question - when you are doing the perfect parry, hold R1 while in the commands menu but then are you pushing circle before or after exiting the commands menu?
@@aethertruckhow generous is the game with being exactly at the midway point of Sephiroth’s closing distance? Do you need to be precise or just close enough?
@@fahmz2156 very generous. You can be much earlier. Not much later, but you need precision defense focus materia on everyone to make it as generous as possible.
@@aethertruckwhat is the loop for getting through rounds 1-4 if not doing the Yuffie brumal form and magic absorption with fire to endlessly spam firaga?
@@JustinDoughtyphotoandvideo check the pinned comment in this video for a link to a longer video which includes the build and my analysis of the build.
Yes. He could also steelskin->steelskin, or whatever combination of 2 abilities you wanted. Even though he does no damage with these moves, he generates ATB so quickly that it is still worth doing this to be an ATB battery for Aerith/Tifa because they are very fast animations. Tifa can generate ATB very quickly on her own but the enemy will target her more when you're playing as her, and if you're not comfortable on these fights it's more challenging to avoid attacks with her especially considering Barret gets ATB for free with overcharge since it (mostly) can't be interrupted
Just by attacking enemy it builds the gauge, once it reaches "2" it's at full power and you should use it ,especially when an enemy is staggered. it's aerith's most powerful ability,
@@TheRandall8486 Does it have to be ATB attacks? I saw a guide saying to use it for the cactuar minigame and her regular attacks didn't seem to do anything.
The first time you use Trancendence, it just gives Aerith a buff. You'll see the buff shows a 1 on it and it has a progress bar around it that fills over time. If you push trancendence again while the number is at 1, she'll attack her target with 5 magic missiles. If she waits until the number is 2, it'll attack her target with 10 magic missiles. The only thing that charges it is time. It takes 30 seconds after first use for it to reach level 2. While Aerith has the buff, she gains magic attack. If the buff is at 1, she gains 10% magic attack. If the number is at 2, she gains 20% magic attack. Once she unloads Trancendence to attack, she loses the magic attack bonus
I cannot do the parry somehow finally got a build which works through all 4 rounds but this shadowy chain is impossible to parry i cant tell where he is going until it's too late :(
Pause (enter battle menu) more often. Just as a way to calm the nerves. As soon as you see the shadowy chains cast, immediately enter the tac menu and pay attention to the way he is facing. Make sure you use Precision Defense Focus materia on everyone. Parry has a much more forgiving timing window with that materia.
@@aethertruck thank you for the advice, I'll try again. Thankfully the build i have has precision defence and I am normally pretty good at parrying. Really hope I can get him next time fingers crossed hah

@@aethertruck after a long break (because it was starting to get mad) I finally did it just by following what you said. Thank you for your help. Literally barely spent 30 seconds out of the battle menu. Yuffie (thanks to her speed) I noticed can actually avoid shadow chains if you are too late to parry (like when she is attacking as shadowy chains came up) so that helped too.
How you manage to get your slow motion less slow than usual? because mine is slower and Sephiroth moves super slow, like 10 minutos to get to half the distance, when your slow mo is faster, a lot faster than mine... i Can go to the store for snacks before sephiroth comes close to me in tactical mode >
There's an option to increase the speed of tac mode in extra settings after beating the game. Play with it because even the fastest setting is very slow still. But maybe it's just because I exit and reenter tac mode when I know there'll be time?
I chose Barret instead of Cloud because it's totally brainless to build ATB with Barret, he's also MUCH tankier to pilot during Gilgamesh. Cloud needs to be more careful in melee range. Plus Tifa has more than enough damage for the whole group and Cloud's only other job is to build stagger with focused thrust, and Barret is just as good if not better using focused shot.
Today I finally beated him! I'm terrible at parrying, and really upset with the developer that made it mandatory, but I can confort the other noobs like me: it only take one parry with the right strategy, and than you too can make it trough 😄 Don't give up!
What's the deal with pushing circle? R1 + circle is a synergy skill normally, I don't understand how you're using it for parries. I thought R1 on its own would parry as long as the timing was right.
Where are your failpoints? Are you beating Gilgamesh consistently? Are you following the full build? I'd be happy to coach you but I need somewhere to start
@@Swordacus if you want to parry the attack you need to equip precision defense focus materia on every character. You would benefit from practicing opening and closing the battle menu. Once you close the battle menu the game doesn't allow you to open it again for a half second, so try this little trick: After closing the battle menu, immediately switch characters and open it again. Zero time passes while characters are being switched and you can open the menu instantly as soon as the next character is selected, bypassing the forced half-second wait to open the menu again. Practice this a while. This will help you switch to the proper character that Sephiroth is targeting. Beyond that, every time Sephiroth is about to perform a new action, open the battle menu so you can see what it is. If it's shadowy chains, switch to the character he is targeting. If he's standing it should be obvious but if he's crouching, his left foot will be pointing toward that character. Then just remain in the battle menu until he starts his attack. Once the attack has moved halfway between where he started and where your character is, hold the block button and don't let go of it. Exit the battle menu while the block button is still held. It will block the attack every time. There are strategies that do not block shadowy chains and simply try to survive it every time he uses it but I think those strats are risky because you need to heal and barrier between every octaslash. If you have any more detailed information about why shadowy chains keeps hitting you or why you don't understand how I parry it every time let me know and I'll do my best to explain. Maybe I'll make another guide if this one isn't very clear to you
@aethertruck can I still parry without precision parry materia? I didn't know you can by pass that menu. Nice tip. That's fine for now. I'll keep watching your vids. I'll try to practice the parry. Thank you so very much for replying! 😊 Oh! And keep up the good work! 👍
Parry works but it's very hard understand who is targeted by Sephiroth even if I slow down almost ever is the chara near him and is impossible to press O switch and slow down again and parry or I am just not skilled enough
Do your best to keep your characters on different sides. When he starts shadowy chains, he will directly look toward his chosen target. His left leg is what you should look at. He will extend it toward his target during the crouch version.
@@aethertruck I'll try anyway aside from Barret, Tifa needs close quarter combats and even cloud to build ATB. He is so fast that evaded aeroga paired with swiftcast materia maxed out

It works as long as the character in question isn't in hitstun or a named attack animation.

Barrier will keep everyone alive even after octaslash
I was able to beat him with this method. Thanks.
Patience is key.
Just beated at second try, saved the game and inmediatly went here to say how much i love you. THANKS!!
AMAZING GUIDE THANK YOU
the parry tech saved my run and got the clear! Thanks for the video!
Man I love you! Just made it through Sephiroth like this, even though it took me like 20 minutes on him 😂
I was stuck for a week, really works!
Subbed.
I don't comment, but wanted to thank you. This was video got me over the finishing line. Thank you :)
Wild that he moves so fast you can use the slowdown screen to track him.
When I reached Seph I was thinking he was gonna be like the story version. I was like I got this. Then I proceeded to get shadow chained to oblivion. Got it in my second try with your guide. Thanks for looking out ✌️
It does say "virtual" Sephiroth.
Excellent man, how you remained so calm is a skill by itself. I hope I have better luck the next time I face him
My first 5 or 6 attempts I was nervous too. After I got my first couple kills I stopped getting nervous. Nothing special about me, just hundreds of hours lol
Oh ok this video can definitely help me (whenever I manage to pass Gilgamesh) Thanks for the pointers!
I never parried Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains once.
1. Barrett cast Barrier-All 2x.
2. Tifa’s armor: Cetran Armlet
3. Tifa: Tranference Module
4. Cloud: Limit Booster
Why do u barrier x2 ??
At least you didn't get glitched after beating him lol😂.
I just got past ghili for the first time today with the same team. Going to try it with protect magnify.
I was consistently beating fights 1 to 4 in 5 minutes, but had no idea what was going on with shadow chains. This made it ezpz.
You can however boost her further by using trancendence which boosts her magic by 20% at level 2, and you can give her faith to boost by 50%
@@aethertruck Agreed, it is capped at 25%.
You basically trivialised stage 5 and i LOVE that. I was using unfettered fury on tifa during my clear and i was making him flinch loads after parries, (she throws out charged punches super fast building stagger).
I didn't know you could parry the distance shadowy chain. Thank you bro. Thank you so much
DUDE!!!! I finaly did it!!! Took me about 20-30 tries. Its all rng boys!!!
I f'ing love you... this way too f'ing long but I was able to perfect parry with my active character everytime. Was even able to switch to other characters right before he struck to go into the command menu and pull this genius move.
Beat this on the first try after seeing this video. Thanks!
I just kept barrier up and when he got somebody with chains I'd let him get the others on purpose so that barrier doesn't run out.
At last, my long suffering is over (until the next round of bullshit Chadley throws at me, anyway). This really made my evening, thank you so much.
Amazing guide. Great work!
My guy you saved me, I salute you with respect.
And you my friend, you are the REAL HERO!
I like to think of myself as an enthusiastic party animal, but I aspire to reach the lofty heights of the Shinra Middle Manager
Thank a lot bro! Youre a lifesaver
damn bro i didnt kno this game was this serious dawg
so upsetting losing a run at this stage because his AI spams this shitty technique
The boxing mini game really was teaching us his biggest weakness, we just didn't know it 🤯
Oh I did the boxing one legit. I wonder if I can do this legit.
Awesome guide bro
Thank you
Ok, I've been cheesing the 1st 4 fights with brumal form, does it work the same for all characters? My team is currently the girls with a firaga build.
The parry really helps me against Virtual Sephiroth and Odin before I find this video.
You can with all character in an attack animation by tapping CIRCLE to dodge and quickly press Guard.
Wow it was what I needed to stop that annoying move. Thanks a lot!
Good to know if I ever have to fight Sephiroth again without Yuffie's Brumal Form spam... 😁
You can definitely do it without. That method is a good way but unless you can block it like this guy it won't matter.
Great tip! Im gonna try this method now.
Man this pokeman index was very helpful… psych.
Do u have the precision parry materia equipped?
You absolute legend
Just beat him using his tip. Thanks a bunch!
This works fine but then he starts casting it without the attack animation, he sends a dark Orb towards me and stuns my party that way. I can't even get atb ward down
Yeah he explained that too, did you watch the entire video?
This video helped me alot😊
so this is basicaly 3D Brawler all over again. thanks for the tip 😅
is this utilising the precision block materia?
Ya I was also wondering if this was with that equipped or not
Finally beat that fucker last night.
Genius move
Thank you, sir.
Hey @aethertruck will you make a video on how to complete UPA Send in the Clowns on hard mode? I can’t even get past round one.
Great stuff. Thanks!
Bro, can i just hold the r1 during the time stop or I have to wait for him to be halfway my character before pressing it and releasing circle?
I push circle in order to exit the command menu
@@aethertruckhow generous is the game with being exactly at the midway point of Sephiroth’s closing distance? Do you need to be precise or just close enough?
@@fahmz2156 very generous. You can be much earlier. Not much later, but you need precision defense focus materia on everyone to make it as generous as possible.
@@aethertrucka cause for hope is something to celebrate, I will give this strat a try tonight 🙏🏼
@@aethertruckwhat is the loop for getting through rounds 1-4 if not doing the Yuffie brumal form and magic absorption with fire to endlessly spam firaga?
What were the characters builds for your team?
@@JustinDoughtyphotoandvideo check the pinned comment in this video for a link to a longer video which includes the build and my analysis of the build.
How does barrett gives atb to party member with steelskin & bonus round? Is it bcs of the ATB assist materia?
What charges Aeris's Trancendence?
My parrying timing sucks.
@@NeverAgain507 whenever he does the crouching version which will be most of the time, his left foot will be pointing in the direction of his target. Forgot to emphasize that.
I think it's easier to beat him with cloud, at least that's what I did, except I never blocked the shadowy chains ball
What’s the method for getting past Odin and Bahamut with this strat? If Odin doesn’t vanish quickly enough you’re wiped with Zantetsuken

Does this work if I have precision defense on?
Today I finally beated him! I'm terrible at parrying, and really upset with the developer that made it mandatory, but I can confort the other noobs like me: it only take one parry with the right strategy, and than you too can make it trough 😄 Don't give up!
You only partied once in the whole fight?
@@ronytomano correct, one parry and lots of magic to stun it
What's the deal with pushing circle? R1 + circle is a synergy skill normally, I don't understand how you're using it for parries. I thought R1 on its own would parry as long as the timing was right.

Good question. I haven't had time to include it in this video. But my previous upload has the entire load out plus my thoughts.
Thess battle gauntlets and fights were so horribly designed. Complete BS fights that you can't even reliably practice.
Bruh, what did you feed Tifa to make her hit that hard?😂
Just came here to say thank you for this god-tier tip. This run damn near ruined an otherwise amazing game for me.
Ngl, I've been watching your video for 4 days now...
Total days: been 8 days, and still can't beat this chalnege.
Where are your failpoints? Are you beating Gilgamesh consistently? Are you following the full build? I'd be happy to coach you but I need somewhere to start
@aethertruck I'm at sephiroth, but his shadow chains keeps killing me.
@@Swordacus if you want to parry the attack you need to equip precision defense focus materia on every character.
You would benefit from practicing opening and closing the battle menu. Once you close the battle menu the game doesn't allow you to open it again for a half second, so try this little trick:
After closing the battle menu, immediately switch characters and open it again.
Oh! And keep up the good work! 👍
@@aethertruck can u send me ur build. I still can't beat him. Thank you! ❤️
