Keep in mind I downloaded these mods back in 2009 so they might not be there anymore. And my mods were for the PSX version only, not PC.
These were the specific mods I used:
ARMs FF7 Damage Break PSX - use to break the 9999 damage cap
Proud Clod - use to modify enemy stats and a.i.
WallMarket145 - use to modify characters, items, materias, and weapons stats
CDmage - use to import the modify files onto the original game

This really makes the emerald weapon battle look like a complete joke...lol
Not really. This Just feels like the regular One but with tons of hp's and some stats tweak but no real Dangerous patterns as far i can see. Emerald weapon has some really nasty patterns of Attack. Buff Emerald weapon in hp's and its shoulder materia hp's as well like they did with this Sephiroth and it would be way harder, especially considering Air Tam Storm being a party wipeout unless you can constante kill the shoulders materia. And yeah, i know, everything in base game Is abusable but if we want to look at Attack patterns, Emerald weapon cam be really ruthless. Like i said, Imagine Emerald weapon with buffed up stats/hp's.

THIS is what One Winged Angel is supposed to make you feel like. Unlike nearly all other FF final boss themes, even Dancing Mad tier 4, you are not on some desperate struggle to save the world. You will just struggle in despair against a cosmic eldritch entity far more powerful than anything you can imagine.
And this mod best encapsulates that.
They tried to make him harder if you achieved certain requirements, but this does it way better. Rather than the measly boosts he gets, the game should have registered if you have any of the following:
1) Ultima Weapon
2) Omnislash
3) KotR
Each one will significantly jack up Sephiroth's HP and damage output.
I wish more JRPGs did this, where the downside of sidequests is that, at least, you even out the playing field between you and the final boss. Doesn't have to be harder than the superbosses, but having these upgrades only makes the final boss harder. But getting these weapons WILL make the final boss a bigger challenge to compensate.
Pokemon did it for a bit and occasionally does it for the Elite Four/league tournaments
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix gives you superboss-level Final Xemnas (not the same, but still)
Final Fantasy IX doesn't count because Necron is a cheating bastard to begin with, with his three-moves-per-turn
I kid u not i killed him in 1 or 2 turns during my 1st playthrough and i didnt even get to supernova and i was like huh?
Problem is, but the time the characters make it to max 9999 HP, the boss can only do so much before they start doing damage that either instakills the opponents or removes them from battle
@@iam4026 thats what we call hardcore its a good feature that the character doesnt lose hp in an instant instead its fading when you got killed by boss so you has time to heal fair and balane but challenging thats what i like in final fantasy!
ff6 had some incredible fights and scenes with epic music.
Agreed, but 5 million hp is too much. 1-2 or even 2.5 would be ok.
While I'll argue that 5 million HP is a tad overkill, the fact that as Sephiroth gets weaker, he starts unleashing more powerful spells shows that he's going to do a lot of damage. The guy damn near spams Ultima more than even the Brachiosaurus in Final Fantasy VI does.
This definitely ranks up there on the OH CRAP scale. Well done.
He only has 550000 hp. It's up to the player if they want to level him up to 5 mil.
Its OVER kill but that's NOTHING KoTR can't fix as long as you do 9999 PER Knight with it W summon it have it trigger HP absorb and Mime it (and Ribbon the ENTIRE party) to survive the Pale horse attack you can't even lose the fight BUT Emerald weapon takes at least 30 minutes to KoTR to death and IT only has 1 million HP.

This was lovely. I'm super late but even still I appreciate your efforts. I'm glad remake came out to give me renewed appreciation for the series.
This looks awesome. Much more challenging, and that's a good thing. Especially making a lot more use of enemy skills too :)
That was really satisfying: a proper, all-out slog, as it should be. Thanks for that; you did a good job. Also, that's the first time I've seen all the scenes that follow Sephiroth's final defeat, so that was nice for me. The juveniles of Nanaki's race are adorable!
BTW, re 35:18, your command that Barret defend hadn't kicked in yet when he got hit by Super Nova, so it is only thanks to his Sadness that he withstood the attack. It really shows how vital Big Guard is in that fight and how much of a pain in the arse Deen is.
Imagine doing this fight and the max damage you could do was 9999 :O

_THIS_ is what I thought Safer Sephiroth would be like going in blind my first playthrough. I was terrified after the Weapons and how Sephiroth was built up throughout the game so to see him go down pretty quickly was a major letdown. Amazing job!!
The reason why Cloud and the others had to destroy the Weapons was because Aerith was interrupted and killed during her prayer. When she appeared to Cloud in a dream, she said that she would take care of Sephiroth herself and had a plan in place knowing that the planets guardians would be powerful enough to stop him. Aerith awakened the Weapons but was killed before she could finish commanding them to go after and destroy Sephiroth. The Weapons than, not having a clear order to follow, began attacking everything living thing on the planet.
@@Azriel261 This is a lie. Aerith DID leave the party to take care of Sephiroth herself... but it was not to "use the Weapons to defeat him". She was going to pray at the forgotten city in order to CAST HOLY, the white materia. The Weapons were created by the planet to kill any threat to the planet... that INCLUDES humans. This is why the Weapons attacked Midgar and Junon, places that were sucking up the planet's resources and where large populations gathered. Aerith did NOT awaken the Weapons, they were awakened once the Black materia was used (once Meteor was casted by Sephiroth).

This is how hard he should have been minus the damage cap over 9999 and his hp being absurd. Just keep it st 400k and 9999 damage. Everything else is fine.
He only has 550k hp, it only goes up if you level your characters to lv99.
To be fair, if it was that way then multi hit attacks would generally be better than attacks that hit harder, (Think about KOTR and Omnislash with the cap at 9999, then it at 32k compared to simpily 4 hits that cap it either way) Sephiroth would die to like 4 of either where as with this it would take around 30 summons of KOTR, making the fight last longer and giving him more opportunities to finish you off.

Overall these changes seem great. His comet2 damage is pathetic, but most everything else seems good.
He feels like an actual epic threat, not a finale going through the motions. It always bugged me that Ruby and Emerald were stronger than Sephiroth.
Well Superbosses are supposed to be stronger than final bosses. This goes with all FF games

Looking back at it now yeah you're right, I should've made comet2 stronger. At the time I think I just didn't wanted Sephiroth's every attack to be damaging that you had to heal on every turn.

Yep. I would like to play this on a PlayStation too but it can only be played on an emulator.

@@ianlee3618 Yes, there are lots of ports of FF7 but you can't modify them. You can only play them as the developers intended. What I'm saying is that a 5 million HP Sephiroth boss battle doesn't exist anywhere. If you want this version, or your own version, you have to modify the game yourself. Once a game is modify (hacked) it can't be played on a PS4 (for security reasons). So the only way to play it is on an emulator. This gameplay was recorded on an emulator called ePSXe. Check the link in the description if you are interested in any of this stuff.

It's a shame you lost this mod, really. Of all the mods I've combed through in the forums, this is the only one that stays loyal to the original with only harder enemies and higher rewards.

@@JonPV01 Can't argue there. Still, one can hope that I can play this version someday; as I said, there aren't many versions that stay loyal to the original (which I prefer).
To be honest I like seeing seraphim sephiroth with 5 million HP.
I always thought 80,000HP was too short. Sure you can always increases his HP to 400,000 by doing certain things in the game like using knights of the round against Jenova.
But I always thought that was too short. In my humble opinion I believe final bosses should always have the max HP or the highest HP.
I always thought the final boss should be the hardest battle. That way it's much more satisfying when you win.
5 million HP feels right. Though if was designing this fight.
I would give seraphim sephiroth (I know he's called safer sephiroth but he does have a very similar seraphim look to him.) much more effective abilities. Like instead of having supernova take out 90% of your HP. It takes out 100% and instead of having to wait for that ridiculous animation. Just go with the original Japanese super nova that was only a few seconds instead of 5 minutes or longer.

Supernova does kill in this version, it does over 13k each person. I had to use barrier everytime to protect myself.

shouldve went the other way by completing the requirements wouldve gave him 80,000 instead. and his standard shouldve been 400,000 hp. plus super nova shouldve never been a reduction skill

I sure hope Tifa is better in the remake. It's not enough that I don't care for her character, but even her limit break, even if you get a hit for all the slots is rather weak compared to omnislash, catastrophe, 4 slash, Highwind, etc. Her overall stats suck too without having to use stat tabs, and worst of all is that shitty premium heart of hers that constantly starts its damage over for some dumb ass reason.
Aerith may not have been much of a fighter, but her magic, defense stats and of course insanely defensive limit breaks were awesome, and they didn't even have to do damage to be so.
Nice epic mod, thanks. Maybe sephiroth will be closer this or even stronger in the remakes final portion. Wouldn't mind that third and final one on one between he and cloud being more "interesting" too lol.
Is there a tough mode for FFVIII?
If there is one it's not gonna be from me. I love FFVIII too but not enough to dedicate time and effort to make a harder version. Check the link in the description. There's a whole community dedicated to modifying FF7, 8, and 9.

what is the highest hp you can give safer sephiroth?
Maybe 16,777,215...not really sure. When I was inputting his hp it had to be in hexadecimal format. 5million in hexadecimals is 4C4B40. That is six digits. And the highest six digit number in hexadecimals is FFFFFF, which is equal to 16,777,215.

or is it only like HP & MP? because i don't understand the relation of damage dealt from my characters to a boss and damage received from the boss to my characters especially now that there are all these FF7 glitches im wondering if there is a calculator for this idea already and i want to explain why i am having a different display of damage then what's auctual in practice being dealt because it's misleading which is a problem because it's different

what is the point of increasing the enemy's HP if the player's attack is also increasing to 25 000 instead of 9999
You just answer the question, the high damage is to offset the high hp. This battle was well over an hour long (with the summon animations) so without the damage cap it would've been at least twice the time. Besides, I never did increase the character's attack power. That's just the ability of their ultimate weapons. I just wanted to see how much they actually do without the 9999 cap.

I never understand these kind of "challenges". HP increasing because yes isn't something that proves a boss more difficult but more annoying. What would be challenging would be that this boss could have a total revamped AI along with some attacks that could wipe out your characters invalidating your Final Attack materia.
Lol you didn't even watch the video did you? Supernova hits over 10000 per character. I only survived because I use big guard everytime he used it. Here's my other video that shows how much damage it does, watch the last 20 seconds of the video.

What happened to midgar
It's being hit by a meteor summoned by Sephiroth.
At the ending
Lifestream, the green flowing stuff, the lifeblood of the earth. After holy failed to stop meteor, lifestream intervened. The earth is saved but Midgar is destroyed. It is abandoned by the humans and left in ruins for hundreds of years.
