I changed the music "One-Winged Angel" to the PSX Version, since the PC 2012 version isn't that great at all.

Yeah that is it’s trademark, taking literal centuries to complete. Also fun fact; the equations you see on screen are actually relevant to the power of a supernova. However, for its Smash Ultimate variant, it’s just regular math equations.

Sephiroth: Wipes out the entire fucking Solar System with a single attack but can't seem to kill the three people he was actually aiming at
Here a year late, but there have been analyses that suggest Sephiroth does not create the explosion. If he could summon a meteor going fast enough to (somehow) make the sun go supernova, why did he go through so much trouble to get the meteor-summoning Black Materia? Rather, Supernova is Sephiroth transporting his enemies to a time and space where such an event is happening.
I mean you could always go with the Japanese version were it actually kills but there is no time to make lunch during it
Sephiroth did not destroy planet X Neptune Uranus Saturn (even though it lost its rings) Mars and Earth (the planet in this game is Gaia which looks identical to Earth)

That Sephiroth would be unbeatable. He technically already is, if he would just stop fucking around when fighting Cloud and actually use his full power. But he will never do that, because then he can no longer continue to torture Cloud.

Supernova is such a flex and kudos to whoever directed that scene like the menace in Sephiroth's face right as the SUN engulfs him, like to get that effect from such simple graphics is amazing.

I think a lot tend to forget that this game and battle made video game history for one thing alone: it was outright stated that the Safer Sephiroth battle was the first to have music with outright singing in it.

Fun fact: this was the only spoken dialog in the entire game.
Level 50-60 is the sweet spot to fight him. Anything higher and youll kill him too fast and skip all the good moments
Lvl 99 is the sweet spot. His health increases for an amoumt of like 30000 for any lvl99 characters. So if all your characters are lvl 99 he will have like 450000 health. His health also increases by an enormous amount if you use knights of the round on the previous jenova fight

When I first saw this attack, my Playstation froze. I had to redo that entire section and I was terrible at this game back then as a kid- I barely made it pass Bizarro Sephiroth.
For some reason i beat the game at level 60 something and bizzarro didn’t do a whole lot to feel like a final boss

this fight always went the same for me; exchange attacks for a while until Sephiroth gets pissed and launches the Super Nova... usually by the end of that, Cloud hit his limit and Omni Slash would finish the fight

us grinders who have to get everything, it always went w-summon: knights of the round x 2, mime. He dead
I always reserved Omnislash as my final attack, just to make it more fit for the story. If the limit gauge is already full, I chose other commands.

2:46 I thought this was the most badass thing ever when I was 12...and I still think it kinda is.
I remember the first time I beat him after dying to his other forms and this one so many times, I was like, holy shit, is it over? Then you get to the final stage and I was scared I was about to have to go man to man with him, but then it turned around and gave me omnislash right off the bat (which I didn't know even existed the first time I played). It felt like both me and Cloud were ready to just finish this fucker off. Such a fucking amazing game lol

At this point, the third remake part (should they keep Safer Sephiroth in) would be on Unreal Engine 5 at the very least with all its ray-tracing goodness, among other things. It'll look glorious on PS5 / PS5 Pro.

Problem is after going through the trouble of grinding to defeat Ruby and Emerald, Sephiroth doesn't pose much of a threat at level 99. Fights over in about 2 minutes
If have a system in the game to make Seph have te same level as you party, the game will be awesome

You can tell how much FF influenced the bosses in KH, primarily final form Ansem in KH1 and final form Marluxia in Chain of Memories.
Had an ad that was faster than the summon itself. Still tho love this game and this insane as heck summon lol.
Did my first playthrough of this and powerleveled Cloud, Cid, and Vincent to level 99 and gave them an amazing loadout. Killed Safer-Sephiroth so fast he didn't even get to use Supernova lol

This boss fight bears similarities to a much later game, Sonic 06 in that when the initial form of the boss already took so much effort to defeat, he comes back in a more angelic form. And the heroes are fighting in a strange dimension where only they and him exist, throwing every single thing they have at him

6:14 If feel like a simple "Humans" (Cloud, Barret and Tifa) are technically fighting a God with the heart an soul full of the rage of a Demon, A.K.A.: Fighting with a Fallen Angel, and that's not all, The music complements the boss fight 6:30 , The music is scary but at the same time it is majestic that implies that you fight with the divinity personified in a malevolent being, and that Malevolent Being it's nothing more than Sephiroth: The One-Winged Angel.
