Dude thank god you did this sprint on a closed course!…..imagine if you attempted to do 58mph on the open public roads! 😬 😂
although i dont even have a z125 and probably wont get one this video was kind of cool seeing all the testing and factors involved nice video 👍
Thank you 🙏🏼
I knew a guy who went 80mph with his Grom.
Though, it was in the bed of his truck 😁
Picking mine up tomorrow! I’m excited! Haha I’m only 5’4 so maybe I’ll reach top speed faster
Congrats! they're super fun!
its geared to hit 64mph. the speedometer might read higher but even on a big downhill it will hit the rev limit at 64.
My z125 I have got to 64. Yesterday I could only get to 50-51 cause the wind was fierce. I weigh 255 and my average speed is usually 55-58 cruising around town.
Its crazy to me how much the wind actually effects your top speed.
@@grimsmotovlogs369imagine swimming up current. It's hard haha
@@bmoneybby lmao
I topped out at 62 with only 200mi on the bike. Got a 0-55mph run two up, 58 seconds
I'll start off by this bike is super fun but I was hoping for a little bit more then what I saw for numbers on mine . My buddy has a gn 125 weighs the same as me at 300ish and get to just under 100kph and best I see on the z is maby 80. I also have a pretty stock yamaha zuma scooter with only a pipe and a heavier duty clutch and that with me on it will smoke this
300 is too heavy for a 125. You need 200cc and up
Flat ground i hit 62 on stock tires.
Once i put Maxxis knobbies, i can only hit 55.
I weigh 170.
How do you like the knobbies? have you done any off roading with them?
@@grimsmotovlogs369 Yeah.. they are a good improvement over the stock tires on dirt and gravel. I haven't done anything serious but, I did do a 30 mile round trip on forest service road outside of Helena, Montana this summer. It was pretty washboarded out. The tires provided pretty impressive performance. The bike still handles excellent on the streets too. It just felt funky at first since I was used to the street tires.
Forest service roads in Montana?! That sounds like a blast on a z125 with knobbies! I bet they handle better than the stock tires on the street too, I cant count the times those stock tires would slide on me in turns.
mine maxes out at exactly 67 but i know it can go higher i wanna remove speed limiter
i wonder if the ECU can be flashed to remove the limiter and maybe get some more power too. Ever watch Moores Mafia her on YT?
2020 z125pro with aftermarket exhaust I do 67
That sounds about right with my experiences, just never on flat ground. I always have too be going downhill to reach 67-68
Is there any way to get more speed out of it 🧐🧐
Not without putting a lot of money into it. You'd honestly be better off just upgrading to a larger displacement bike. 250, 300, 400 or bigger.
A full system exhaust, an aftermarket ecu (power commander, aracer, bazzaz etc) a racing air filter and ofcourse a lotta money would easily hit 67mph and higher. Maybe a boreup kit would squeeze the performance out of this shrunken naked bike. Mine was hitting 67mph on full stock coz i'm only weighing 122lbs. Prolly the rider's weight plus the wind are those main factors to consider when getting a decent top speed.
Those speedometers are off by like 5-6 miles though. So 60 is actually like 54mph. Get a gps app on your phone if you don’t believe me.
I believe you. They are off for sure. The faster you go the more off they get. Manufacturers do the same thing with automobiles.
Benelli 135/125 was miles out. At least you could change Speedo calibration without any equipment. (it's also the reason why I don't buy used as you can cheat by a massive margin eg doing 100kmh but Speedo says 7kmh etc. So catch 22
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 yeah I’ve heard of some people doing some shady stuff in the used market. Think my FZ1 may have been one of those bikes. Looking back at the circumstances I bought it under. Def can’t really trust anybody anymore.
Mine is all stock and mine tackes out at 67 on flat ground
I’m surprised you can max it out on flat ground. That’s an achievement in and of itself haha. I couldn’t get mine to redline in 4th. Downhill I could. Lol.
Same my 2023 pinged 4th at 67mph on flat with a little wind behind me I am 6"2 at 210lbs it takes some time and road to do it .
@@BrooktheBlader I’m beginning to wonder if the Amazon exhaust has anything to do with it.
It surprises me the difference between new bikes that are meant to be identical off the factory floor. I ve owned x2 2021 crf300l and one could do 154kmh & the other couldn't get close to that (Honda said 132kmh top speed). I also saw same difference between speed on my X 2 2022 grom abs bikes (2021 build on the stamp)
The dealership couldn't explain why, which was really annoying as it's the second time I've experienced it). I laughed with Mrs before saying wonder the speed of next bike (another crf300l I'm getting lol)
@@jamesgeorgevellavella1961 that is really interesting.
What mods do you have??
Nothing too crazy, exhaust would be the only performance oriented one. Here's a video I did going over everything ua-cam.com/video/sx_BFIk1_uM/v-deo.html
I’m 275 bone stock gps I’m hitting 62mph I’ll run with that I didn’t buy this to rip. Needs wider tires though sheesh
That's pretty decent! I wonder if you could get wider tires on these.
Actually the speedo is 2 mph off. So 56
For Sure!
