    Grom suits taller riders, Z suits shorter riders(handlebar to knee clearance). Grom has better brakes, Z has better suspension. Grom has bigger tires and lower footpegs, Z has smaller tires and higher footpegs. Grom has the top end, Z has the bottom end. Both have plenty of after market parts now and so all you need to do is go and see which one fits you better really. These bikes don't stay stock for long so choose your flavor and go and have fun.

      @@EP-pg3xs- You never tell people, Especially new riders, to lower their bike. That make the bike dangerous to ride. The bike would not function as it should.
      And it is a waste of money and time.
      And the bike is to heavy and big, to learn on.
      Learn on a 50cc - 125cc. And become a better rider, faster. On a bigger bike, most will never be a good rider.
      Just look at the statistics on how many die, because they have to keep up with traffic on a big bike.
      The fast bike don’t make you a better rider. It makes it much harder, in some cases, impossible to learn.
      Most crash or almost crash, and stop riding. Or just give up before they really tried.

    A few weeks ago i had the cam & piston kit installed on the Z125 pro and woah, that thing moves pretty good on take offs, red line in third easy and about 9500 rpm in 4th, it even pulls pretty good in 4th this is with a 28 tooth rear sprocket well also exhaust, intake. I do recommend it And change your spark plug to a cr8hsa if you do these mods but that may depend on your location

    Wait what? $1k difference? I thought there was only like a $200 disparity between the msrp of the bikes (yes, I know about all the extra fees that dealerships tack on, but I can't figure out how that translates to such a massive difference in TTL prices).

    • @oakstrong1
      @oakstrong1 5 років тому +1

      At least it is the case in Thailand, where both Grom and Kawasaki are made; Kawasaki is actually the more expensive one. Perhaps it is to do with the import costs of Kawasaki or because Kawasaki has not yet got the same name recognition as a reliable make. Honda just goes on and on... Although, after a fall (sliding across the road) mine wouldn't start for a while afterwards. But when it did, it ran like nothing had happened and the only sign is the scratch marks on paint of the the casket and stock exhaust. And of course the sticking out indicators were broken. (It's not been moded but thinking of getting rid of the tail fender.)

  • @oakstrong1
    @oakstrong1 5 років тому +5

    Interesting. I was thinking for a long time which one of these I would buy, but I went for Honda because of two reasons: Grom (2017 model from Thailand) was $300 cheaper and the seat is low enough for me to put both of my feet flat on the ground, whereas with Kawazaki I could only touch the ground with my touch. (I'm a shortass, so that was one important factor when choosing a bike for sitting in traffic jam for most of my commute.)
    P.s. There is no noticeable difference between the seats over here; if anything it is the Kawasaki that has more dipped seat.

      Better and safer to have one foot on the back break, when you stop.
      Then you want slide backwards, if you stop on a step hill. And can prevent you from getting more hurt if another vehicle hit you from behind.
