Today we are going to put the Ticonderoga against a TMP era K'tinga Class.
The K'tinga was the most powerful Klingon ship of the time, so this should be a good match up.
Played from both sides in Star Trek Bridge Commander Remastered.

You should do a rematch with 3 K'Tingas. They were meant to hunt in packs and were the main reason why Starfleet refit the Constitution class. I don't think the Ticonderoga class would have a problem but it would still have its hands full.
I think it'd look more balanced with the upper rollbar removed, but i agree, this is definitely one of the most balanced dual-secondary hull designs we've seen!
Ticonderoga vs Proxima please 🙏 it only makes sense to which kitbash dreadnought is Supreme.
Seconding this. I’ll also suggest the Ticonderoga versus the Sovereign. She should lose, but will she give as good as the Proxima did in that battle?

Why do I love this design? I usually don't like these sorts of kitbashes but this one is... Very well balanced and proportioned. I like it!
Shame no one ever gives these the broadside cannons they had in Legacy.

What a very interesting star ship design the Ticonderoga Class is. I would like to see it battle both the Constitution Refit and Miranda classes and see how it fares when pitted up against them.

The quality is so top notch, it is on par with a movie battle.
I absolutely love the look and style of that ship. It has the look of my 2 favorite Starfleet ships incorporated in the design.

The Ticonderoga is some serious TMP firepower! Was surprised that the TMP K'Tinga doesn't have the iconic TMP photon sound effect.
Back in the 90s/early 2000's, there were a few trek BBS's and some posters would make little 2D kitbashes of Federation Ships, some were pretty neat designs, but some were just saucers with like 4 secondary hulls and a bunch of cannons and Torpedo Launchers and they would have some cringey name like "U.S.S. Shadow Slayer" or "Dragons Claw", they were usually the ones who only Liked Deep Space Nine because of the "Battle Parts" and would write fan fiction about their ship single handedly stopping a Star Destroyer invasion from the Star Wars universe or something. Anyway, The Ticonderoga class kind of reminds me of some of those ships.

I agree that this kitbash looks more symmetrical and proportionally balanced than other ones do. That said, with all of those high-powered sections connected by thin access corridors, the Ticonderoga would have been a nightmare for engineers. I bet that ship had more Jefferies tubes than a Galaxy class. I honestly can't even imagine how spidery all of the interconnected data and power systems would have been.

Think this was Kronos One in Undiscovered Country.. When it decloaked.. Chekov said ''shields Captain..?'", and Kirk said.. The Ticonderoga having the Miranda saucer with its rollbar weaponry, and then with dual warp engines powering its shields & phasers, it went as i had expected.
That ticonderoga with quantum torpedoes would be very, very funny.
You're right, that is a good looking ship!! Seems much better porportioned than the Proxima.
The PSP game Star Trek tactical assault had a Starfleet Dreadnought. Miranda saucer & a connection at the back with 3 warp nacelles on it.

@@RetroBadgerGaming Yeah one issue with that video game psp is the recharge rate for ship weapons. Ships have more than one weapon port . The Klingon battlecruiser has more barrage of weapons. But basically it's fire button once or twice and then wait ages to recharge no rapid fire.
That's one beast of a ship.
You're right, the Ticonderoga has a good design and balance! I think it could stand a couple more nacelles, but carefully placed so the design isn't put off balance.

Oh I love the Ticonderoga and already am trying to imagine a refit sort of like the Connie Refit Refit for a variant. This is the first dual hulled ship that I like the looks of.

The backside of that Ticonderoga-class Starship looks a bit unusual, almost too many torpedo pods, if there is such a thing. I think fighting three K'tinga battlecruisers would be interesting.

I haven't seen the Ticonderoga in years. It didn't appeal to me back then, but I like her elements now.
She's got some good shields and firepower.
Take her up against a TNG or post TNG ship.

Btw, have you ever tried the scenario from DS9 where Kor delays the ten Dominion fighters? Obviously not winnable so much as achievable. Maybe.

Ticonderoga is definitely a carrier, as far as im aware, 1-2 shuttlebays was the norm for this era, 4 would be a lot for this particular era
A K'Tinga is outmatched by a Connie Refit by about 50%. It has zero chance against the Ticonderoga. I think 3 K'Tinga's *might* be even money.
Two warp cores would need more hydrogen than could be collected by only two bussard collectors.
Its not a ram scoop fusion rocket. Its less about sourcing fuel than it is about using stuff that's in your way and that you want out of your way regardless of whether it's used. The matter/antimatter reaction provides 200 times the power of a fusion reaction by mass otherwise they'd need way more scoop to begin with.
V'ger destroyed 3 of them in nothing flat 😆. At least they made it to Sto'va'kor 😄.
As for that Starfleet vessel, it's basically two Constitution vessels smashed into one, giving it twice the power and firepower.

it is just a combination of a Miranda class and a constitution class.
Kinda makes you wonder what you'd get from hooking a Constellation onto a pair of post TMP era Excelsior hulls. Maybe leave the four nacelles behind the saucer but either split into two pairs to either side or leave the quad on the centerline but lift it up a bit. For that matter a single centered Excelsior hull in that last configuration sounds neat and may totally trounce this TMP version of the Ti.

I think there was a variation of this design, but it had 4 warp Nacelles and a pointier saucer section.

Why are Star Trek modders so unoriginal? So many fan ships are just parts of popular ships all jammed together to make some giant hodge-podge design.
"What if we had 3 Saucers and 18 nacelles?!?" Or "what if we had 5 engineering sections surrounding one sauce and had 10 nacelles?"
Kitbashing to make fast & cheap ships for the shows has ruined Star Trek ship design...
