I was thinking to myself Shoestring. When your your out there riding the rails, big 5000 square ft homes & fancy cars & clothes don't mean anything. I 'd rather be free to travel free on the rails anyday. You guys are truly enjoying life. I hope you two have a great Thanksgiving day, if all else fails eat a Turkey sandwich while in a camp or on the rails.
He is talking about my neck of the woods in central NY. i watched the train go by the other day .i visioned him on it waving as he went by.I will miss his videos.
Resin pellets provide the uniform composition needed during the manufacturing process of bottles and other plastic products. Other common applications for resin pellets include a variety of plastic products, such as industrial plastic wraps and plastic bags.
I used to work for Comdial in Charlottesville, Va. We made telephones and equipment. We had hoppers filled with a type of plastic pellets that looked like that used for injection molding of the phones. I think that’s what they might be. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Probably made at Eastman Chemical company. I thought I heard him mention Kingsport TN earlier in the video. If so, that's one of their locations, and my cousin/neighbor is a supervisor there.
Wish I had saw these videos sooner. I live about 45 minutes away from Kingsport TN. My brother also works for the railroad. He's a manager for a large maintaince company and travels all over the country. Would have loved to got to meet Shoestring.
What an awesome adventure Shoestring & you weren`t by yourself this trip. You both being cool, calm & collected makes for a great adventure. I hope that you can post part 2 tonight or in the morning sometime, can`t wait to see what transpired.
Hope that you are doing well Shoestring . We haven`t heard from you since you posted part 1 of this latest adventure. Please let us know somethig A.S.A.P. !!
Not iron ore pellets - wrong sound when Mark picked them up. Although they have close to the same color, those are styrene resin pellets. They are used in the manufacture of items such as plastic bags, heavy duty plastic wrap material, plastic bottles, injection molded plastic products (such as the body and chassis on model train rolling stock), plastic furniture, etc.
I loved this video, very real and I'm always learning something new about trains, who doesn't love a train? I'm glad you had a companion ,Anywhere man to travel with, and a yummy looking dinner, can't wait till the next video, Godspeed and keep warm!!
Hey Mark.. JT said he was trying to look you up. Glad you guys had a visit with Anywhere Man. I sent a happy thanksgiving for JT to pass on but since y'all are on the rail I'll say again... Have a great thanksgiving and stay safe!!
Edited the video out of order? Showed the food already wrapped and seasoned before showing it when it wasn't prepared. Them Whitewalls looked pristine and beautiful, nothing like classic whitewalls.
Ah another great adventure and it has the beginning of something fun and exciting. It's great that you have someone to hang out with, share your adventure. Looking forward to part II. Of course we understand that you need to be cautious about letting that information out to early. Be safe and try to keep dry.
I'm really glad to see that you are traveling with Troy and have someone to help you out if you need it and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving wherever you are at and Thank You very much Shoestring.🤠👍🇺🇲 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Nice. Looks like y'all having a great time. Love Troy's trick for getting the fire going. Who would of thought. We are never too old to learn a new trick. I personally now use a battery leaf blower for this since I can never get the fire pit going fast enough. It works like a charm. Troy had enough gear with the guitar...No room for a leaf blower. Waiting for part 2. Cheers to you both..
That’s awesome to hear shoestring mention Binghamton NY , anytime you are rolling through these parts (Binghamton Ny ) I can bring you some supplies shoestring, not many trains rolling through here though it has been lights out here since 2021 .
KerryGold is some good butter, Shoestring. Hope y'all enjoy your supper and have a good night. Happy Thanksgiving! About the pellets, I think it may be polystyrene.
Without having read others' comments yet, I'm going to guess that those black pellets fell out of a covered hopper bound for a plastic processing plant - to make injection moldings of plastic products, from flatware to canoes. Let us know if you plan on passing through the Ozarks, especially on the BNSF Cherokee sub/through the Nichols junction in Springfield, MO!
It's nice to see You with a friend and Yall getting ready to roll on the high iron, good to see Jawtooth, enjoyed Your video and footage of CSX manifest, the camping out and looks like You Guys had a good meal, safe trip and travels Guys and Happy Thanksgiving!🛤🚂
Gotta love that Kerry Gold 👍👍 I like how the US sells butter in little sticks, the UK equivalent is a single block that tends to be about 2 sticks worth - unless you buy the XL blocks that would probably equate 4 sticks (250g pack or 500g pack vs US average 125g per stick)
Usually that old not in good shape. But definitely a project car worth doing the work. The interior looked really good another bonus. As far as motor you can use any GM engine pretty much. Just something to ponder??
That green glass is worth a few bucks and curved. Either made in Toledo or Fostoria I would imagine. And finding green replacement like original. Good Luck!! You can get glass, but it won't be like that stuff.
Y'all take it easy Mark. You could do with a poncho Shoestring, army ponchos are great for keeping you dry and warmer and light. That Caddy would be a cool fixer-upper. I'd prefer the range rover next to it. I drive a tiny 5 door hatch right now, gets me around though. Those look like deer poo.
Hey bud i just live about 10 blocks from that Cadillac! The trains going north always blocking that crossing so its a good place to catch out if ya going north! South bounds start to build up speed after that next crossing! Love your videos bud my kids fascinated with trains
@@jameschristiansson3137 Those things are worth couple of grand tops (only 1 forsale at moment on net) and dont think I've ever seen one... that caddy in AU would go 50k.

Been going back through the Videos, converting some to MP3 for listening. Such a wealth of information contained in these videos. We're really going to miss you, Shoestring. 😔😪🚂
GOING TO MISS YAH OLD MAN,, RIP ,,
Old man?? He was a young man!!
Good to see you shoestring and friend I’m driving down the road but I’ll check this out on my down time.
@18:10 Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) pellets

You guys are living the dream. I don't think I am tough enough for that kind of adventure.
It's more brains than brawl
Not so much about being tough humans are already tough you just gotta have some knowledge and general street smarts

Hello Shoe String. If you put a red filter on your flashlight , the red light will be more difficult for others to see from a distance.

It’s a 1952 Cadillac Coupe DeVille!! You can tell by the grill.

Those pellets you found are iron ore pellets that they used to haul in 2 bay open hoppers.

Great video. Thanks for sharing with us. You're looking good
All the best Shoestring. 👍
the black beans appear to be most probably a type of catalyst for use in chemical production of polymers............
Looks like a Cadillac to me shoestring
Those look like pellets used in making HDPE (or similar) conduit/pipe. (Just guessing here)
I enjoyed your company!!!
Hope your Thanksgiving was awesome. God bless brother
I like to Watch you because I know all about riding on trains it's what y'all do camping in that jungle that I'm interested in.

Not sure what year but I think the green car is a Cadillac, maybe 1950?
Ya really close. About a 5 year spread hard to tell apart.
Been waiting for this one .The one and only Hobo Shoestring
Good to see ya, nice chops and asparagus...the pellets look like plastic for manufacturing.

That's what I was thinking to. We used to have a company here that used those little pellets to make plastic products. Posso Corp.
wishing you both a great thanksgiving whether your at the homebase or riding the rail .God Bless be safe stay dry and warm
That's a early 50s caddy with a 427 fe motor
Definitely a Cadillac
That is a '50-'53 Cadillac. Those pellets look like the plastic pellets melted down to make many plastic things.

Driving miss daisy or driving Mr Shoestring in that old Cadillac
The car looks to be a 1950-1952 Cadillac series 62.
Looks to be a 1952 or 1953 Cadillac.
Ought to snag that Cadillac!! Damn straight body to work with.
