Mr. Shoestring, I’ve watched at least 95% of all your videos. I’ve noticed that you are treated better by many people you meet on the rails than many people are treated in their own neighborhoods. Stay well. 09/24/2020

Hello, just discovered your channel!!! I watch the Elkhart video, that was really cool seeing my old hood.Across the from the RR museum is a tavern in my younger days was our spot. One night playing pool in a snowstorm we looked out the window because a locomotive derailed on that curve and slid sideways with his lite shing right in window... what a trip..Thanks for great videos..
I’m a lifelong Battle Creek resident and I know all those spots you showed in your video, so cool to see familiar spots like that! Awesome that you passed through here. I used to work just up the road from the grain elevator. Stay safe and happy travels!
Thank you for teaching the world about trains Shoestring! You’re awesome and I like that you are so knowledgeable and safe! Happy New Year! Adding some “Cadillac Grainers” to my model railroad just for you!
Great video. I always enjoy the longer narrated versions. It looks like the eyepiece to your binoculars was glued on to the body, and the glue is what separated at impact. You ought to be able to repair it fairly easily. Put the eyepiece up to the body and turn it until it is flush to determine the break pattern. This is critical in ensuring your binoculars focus properly once repaired. Once you know how to orient the eyepiece, apply a very small amount of Loctite Super Glue gel or your favorite plastics glue to the facing joint circumference on both the eyepiece and body. Gels are great because they set fast but not too fast. You’ll appreciate they extra few seconds they afford you to get things perfectly aligned. But you don’t want a glue that will set so slowly that things might come apart if you are not holding them. Hold the pieces together firmly until you are sure the glue sets. Try to avoid knocking the binoculars around as much as possible - easier said than done on a train, I'm sure - over the next several hours, and you should be good to go. That joint should be stronger than the original. Happy bull-er-bird watching.
