    I know it’s probably never going to happen
    But the mental image of a family dinner of Pazuzu, Lamashtu , and Deskari amuses me especially because Lamashtu is essentially Deskari’s stepmother
    And you thought your in-laws were bad

    It's weird how Lamashtu is played up in lore to be one of the most evil of the pathfinder gods, but has some of the least restrictive Anathema of the evil gods

      Playing as a Lamashtu follower or having one in your party would be very difficult though. Not because of the extra dimension of having an evil PC or running an evil campaign that doesn't descend into murder hoboing, but because first time they're blinded by an enemy- the Lamastu Cleric won't be curing the party and if they're a different class they won't be allowed to accept healing. Depending on the flavor, they wouldn't be able to accept healing for ability damage under the strictest interpretation of the anathema. If the character receives unholy powers from Lamashtu, that could be a problem. The only way I could see getting around that is you'd have to first conduct a ritual to ask Lamastu or an emissary of hers yourself, with the reasoning that the goal of the adventure is serving Lamastu and this isn't like healing a disability someone has lived with for a long time

    • @Nyrufa
      @Nyrufa Рік тому +1

      @@AbsolXGuardian Clerics don't have to be the designated heal-bot of the party. You can use Druids, Bards, and even Sorcerers who's bloodline gives them access to the Divine spellbook. As for restoring ability score damage, bare in mind that Lamashtu's faith encourages survival of the fittest. I could see her allowing the use of magical healing for the purpose of getting her devoted followers back into proper fighting shape, instead of leaving them crippled for the rest of their lives.

But I love your unique style and story telling and just everything!!! also 1 of my PCS just got pregnant (in game) I might be an evil DM and implement this deity bwahahah 💜 also hope u feel get well soon!

    I'm somewhat ashamed of how much I love Lamashtu as a goddess. Bitch get's shit done (and don't pretend she would dislike that title). Lamashtu is the single strongest argument imo against the notion that Asmodeus is one of the two primal beings of creation, cause what sort of eldritch god lets a relative newcomer waltz in and carve out a piece of his realm along with an entire pantheon for herself? And his only retribution is marking her up with Rovagug in the people he won't make deals with? Why does she need to make deals with you when she can just take whatever she wants? You want domain over beasts but a pesky god has already claimed it? Just lure him to your home, beset him with an army of demons, and then eat his very divinity because just devouring his soul like a daemon is beneath your alpha status. Lamashtu just radiates Chad/Insanity Wolf/girl boss energy, and her clerics can potentially be pretty chill for serving a demon goddess, so long as they fall more in line with her philosophies of motherhood and empowering the downtrodden above the self-mutilation and natural selection aspects. Chaotic Evil is so often a token, stereotyped alignment, but Lamashtu and her worshippers make it work in a way that's both compelling and interesting.

    I got a fantasy world of my own that I'm building. In it, Lamashtu is the patron of shapeshifters and predators, in both the human and animal concepts. Her cults enjoy tactics of stealth and assassination and like to move into small towns and hunt for lone travelers at night. The murders excite a panic that they like to take advantage of, tossing blame on enemies and rivals.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 роки тому +2

      I'm particularly fond of God's being used in different ways. I had a god in an old home brew that was supposedly the god of tragedies, and you would see his clerics out in about in towns where someone prominent was going to die soon, and they would be just doing good deeds trying to help cushion the blow in a few days time. In truth, he's the god of assassinations, and this ruse was an excuse for his followers to be seen world wide without needing to hide themselves as they traveled.
      Eventually my party figured out parts of this connection and they would get super paranoid anytime I mentioned a cleric was around lol

    The only thing I knew about Lamashtu was the things on Kingmaker, there she seens like a very OK godess, like, barely evil. I even thout she was a misuderstood neutral godess of nature.

    • @AkiKii519
      @AkiKii519 Рік тому +2

      technically speaking, if you look at RPG books, you can worship her as neutral I think. and there is 'heretical' offshoot of her cult that worships her as a truth of nature - like Red Queen. Even gives those heretical clerics Truth domain.

    • @Dunstan9
      @Dunstan9 11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah. Whether they try or not, No society is perfect 100% of the time, and in Kingmaker she comes off as a good safety net to keep around. “eccentric” perhaps, but kinda darkly benevolent.🤷‍♂️

    No mention of Uvaglor? There's more to the rivalry of Lamashtu and Pazuzu than you realize, good sir. There's heresy to be found, but the knowledge may be your undoing. Tread carefully, Pathfinder. My final bit of advice, seek the mysteries of the cult of Ashava before digging into secrets long buried.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 роки тому +3

      Oh I knew of Uvaglor but to be honest, I wasn't sure how important he was. The sources I used for this video didn't even mention him.
      I used Inner Sea Gods (1e), Gods and Magic (2e) Rise of the Runelords (just in case), Book of the Damned and I think it was.. Sins of the Savior? But I never saw much mention of Uvaglor so I didn't mention him! I'm planning a few notable videos, like Notable demons, or notable mages etc hell get a mention in one of them I'm sure lol

    • @SirVertigo

      You can find them mentioned in the Lord of Chaos book from 1st edition, but unfortunately, this is all it says.
      "In her Abyssal Realm, she is further served be her favored daughters, seven powerful demonic sorceresses called the Seven Witches."
      I don't believe this has ever been expanded on honestly.

    My narcissistic hierophant cleric of himself wants to establish a relationship with the demon queen with the reasoning that they will enhance one another's features when compared side by side. He also argued that when others saw the uncrossable gulf between themselves and his perfection, they'd give up on beauty and join Lamashtu, if they didn't worship him on principle.
    It's little alliances like these that enable him to make his portfolio all-encompassing. The separatist archetype lets clerics choose from an expanded list of domains, and the way my PC goes about it is by secretly giving access to pantheonic power.
