My first attempt at a license plate guitar (LPG). This video is provides a build overview with audio samples. 15% off CBG parts at CBGitty.com if you use this link: www.cbgitty.co...
They should call you jukebox. I don't think I've heard you play the same song twice. That pickup sounds great. I bought one from CB Gitty.( forgot to use your link, sorry next time)
I have a license plate with its number 812 CBG. I have never built a CBG and was wondering if I it would be ok to move the pickup and bridge towards the 812 and cut out the “C” for the pickup vs having to destroy the “B” for placing the pickup.
That’s so awesome! Sounds so cool, the resonance is awesome! Love the Charlie Brown theme! My 1st attempt at a CBG was with a NC license plate, yours is light years better! This might be my fav of all of your CBGs!
What better group to play a song by on a lpg than the CARS!! I too will admit when I built mine I didn’t take into consideration where the bridge would fall and had to really get creative in order for it to play correctly. Hindsight... as they say. Great vid as always dude 👍🏻
When you 1st play the guitar what tune is the strings in? I like the shamisen (Traditional Japanese style banjo/guitar)sound it makes. So cool! I hope to get an answer! Thank you everyone!!:
Both Vince Guaraldi and The Cars, SWEET! Loved it! Challenge; can you make a combination license plate/rectangular oil can resonator guitar and video document it and play it for us?
That sounds absolutely amazing! LPG has been on my list for a while. I saved the plate from my big black Olds that I had named the Mojomobile for just this purpose. Also have an oilcan I've been saving: a one gallon olive oil can.
Whooo, hoooooo! Now that looks FUN. Funny how the “:builds” manage to get you to do what they want. Now I am wanting to do a resonator. Just not sure how to build the resonator....or purchase one. This gives me some ideas. Blessings.......
Awesome work figuring the scale length to make it work with the pickup and bridge. I never gave that a thought when I built one. I will next time! Nice job!👍😎🎸🎶
Re multiple box attempts - yeah, I've been there. Skew, wood too thick for pot shafts, and the absolute prize: the notch for the neck off-centre. I use much lighter wood than you, though - around 10 mm (about 2/5 in), and getting the corners square is a pain.
Your awesome Dell. Exactly what I am preparing to do. Love the little pickup in the 0. Your videos have the detail I like to see. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas on building these little guitars. I built a CBG for my grandson(11yr old) the other day for his birthday and he is just awe struck. Loving it and enjoying the journey to learn to play it.
Amazing effort as usual Del, I still have your email and kind words from February this year about my effort making a LPG over here in Western Australia. Regards, Wayne.
Great build Del! Seriously one of my favorite videos of yours! I have a stack of WI plates in the garage.....feeling inspired. Looks like a great Christmas break project. Thanks for sharing!
...Del, you did a hell of a job figuring out the dimensions of that plate to get the pup and bridge to fit so perfectly. Love this guitar, a Great, actually better than great sound...Thank you.

That is really cool Dale!!! Thanks for sharing! Super resonant!

I'm late to the party but this is the cigar box guitar I want to build right here.....and the Beethoven was great
Charlie Brown...🇺🇸⚔️🍕🍺🎄❄️❤️
Perfect... I have a couple really cool Texas plates!

Awesome, great looking and sounding (and song choice)!
Great job Del!!! Well planned!

Cool stuff man✌
Amazing 🤩🙏👍
Groovy 💀
Noticed that you are making a lot of the scraf heads ,kool

cool
This thing has a GREAT sound! Okay...so...NOW I gotta build one myself.
Quick question. How did u cut out the license plate ? Working on Lpg at the moment. Thanks.
Hahaha. Love the song choice.
Where do you get the 3 pole mini pickup?

I live in Wisconsin. Do you live here as well?
NM
How do you change strings? Does the box open - did I miss something?
Why fir? Just askin cuz I don't know...
beg borrow and steal
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar hmmm... My neighbor just nailed up a few new boards on his house.
Nice job Del!
Where do you get your parts? Wanting to build one of.
Thank you for this! Starting my first now. Of course I had to check with the Master craftsman! You ROCK Del!!!
That's incredible. And singing The Cars' Just What I needed was perfect!
If I go to prison I can make license plates all day. I'm not sure about guitars though.
Del, I Love your Humility. Thank you for showing your trials that did not work out. Quitters never win and Winners never quit.
I have yet to see all your builds but this by far is the coolest sounding
Fundamental thing seems to be... Closer to the middle of the box you can put the bridge... the better.
Great job Del, as always.

Yup, that’ll do just nicely 👊🏼❤️👊🏼
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥
The CARS!!!! You are the man Sir!
Very cool!!!😁👍
Awsome job 👍

Sounds great. Needs a name. Wisconsin plate... Starts with a Z... maybe “Chee-Zee”?
You can still use the other box, just counter sink your pot and Jack from the outside.
Hey Kirby- do you notch the neck to accomodate the license plate thickness like you do with a normal cigar box lid?
Sorry...Del.
Del, I wished you were my neighbor! That would so totally rock, man! Great build and great playing.
You have some great info thanks ready for my next build. I have 2 under my belt.
Now you have a license to drive that amp. Lol.. what is the significance of the bridge being at an angle rather than perpendicular to the strings. ?
Not an expert, but AFAIK, that's for the intonation. For the 12th fret to play at an octave higher, the scale length will vary by string.
Mini pickup is the buisness
yuppers...
Nice Cars tribute Del on a very resonant CBG!
WELL THAT SOUNDS FRKN AWSOME MATE THUMBS UP 👍
That's a great sounding LPG, a lot of planning has sure paid off, love the fingerboard btw.
Shamisen? I wanna build one more than ever now.
Very nice Del! Thanks for sharing!
Hi There, what is the distance between strings and pickup? Thank you for your videos always super helpful!!!
Depends on how you attack the string. About the thickness of a pencil is average... slightly less maybe ?!?
This is super cool looking!!!
Nice Del, it's got kind of a "metal" sound to it...:-) do you have to register that with MVD...
Only if he tries to play it on public thoroughfares.
Awwwwwe man that's just cool.
Muy Bueno mi amigo!!!
very nice build
Very nice
Inspired
On, Wisconsin!
Fab!!!
Amazing!!!!!
