    After removing the stock axle and suspension in the last episode, we found out our super duty Dana 60 didn't fit under the stock frame rails. In this episode we fabricate a custom block side motor mount and weld in a custom frame rail for the solid axle swap (SAS) Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4.
    Thank you all for being patient! I know I'm lagging in getting these videos up in a timely manner. Dad life is taking up most of my free time these days!

    I'm right now on the way to SAS 1 ton axles into my Dodge Durango 2000. I used Chevy axles from K30 (probably): Dana 60 + GM 14 bolt. I retubed Dana 60 to make it driver side drop, made custom high steer, rear disc brake conversion, PSC ram assist, etc. I have front leaf springs from Chevy and 37 tires on wheels. But I have not started to do anything with the Dodge. It takes a lot of time to buy everything I need in the USA and send it to Russia.
    Your videos give me great confidence in success. Сontinue in the same spirit, man! I'm in your fan team!

      Thank you Alexey! Your comment means a lot to me- amazing to know I have a fan all the way in Russia! It sounds like you have started a great build too- good luck and update me on your Durango as you finish it!

    Nice work, looks like its going to turn out amazing. I like that your redoing the frame to keep full bump up and tight where it should be. Sub'd.

    • @WebWheeler
      @WebWheeler  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the sub! Yeah it obviously takes quite a bit more work but otherwise this thing would end up way too tall and goofy looking. I want it to look almost factory just with giant tires haha

    Yeah she's looking awesome!! I just finished front and rear bumpers for my Dakota, was going to look at custom grill next, this kinda stuff your doing requires me to find some more space and tools...I like watching it though, pretty sick man👍👍

      @@lanehittle7359 Very cool- I'm still debating 5.38 or 5.13 gears. The question really is do I want to plan on eventually going bigger or smaller for tires... :D

    out of curiosity, why not make it straight then offset the body mounts

    • @WebWheeler

      The frame needed to widen out to get my steering box where I needed it. I will be showing that in a later video. Otherwise yeah your way is way easier haha 👍

    Did you ever make a video on the complete build?

    • @WebWheeler
      @WebWheeler  3 роки тому +1

      Videos are still coming out- I'm way behind on videos (especially lately) because I've been getting the truck drivable. I will be releasing a supercut video that covers the entire build in a 10-15 minute video after I get the more detailed videos done. Thanks for watching!

    I can’t wait to see it finished. Are you putting a heavy duty rear axle in the rear as well ?

    • @WebWheeler
      @WebWheeler  4 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! Yeah I have already swapped the rear- check out the other videos on my channel where I do that swap and even get a junkyard E locker swapped in 😎

      Haven't looked at the 2wd's much. Are they shaped any different aside from brackets and mounts?

      I think it should. Our biggest concern at the moment is steering and how we will accomplish that

    • @WebWheeler
      @WebWheeler  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah that took me a while to figure out too- went through 4 different steering boxes haha. I ended up using the box from a 2013 super duty because you get the full range of motion in the steering without modifying the pitman arm and it's so big I likely won't need hydro assist 👍 new episode got delayed but will be out within the next week!
