My smart light bulbs and Ikea Tradfri switches are connected to my Samsung Smartthings Hub which is in turn connected to my Google Home. This allows me to control my smart home in my BYD Seal EV using Google Assistant.

How has the reliability been with the Seal? I asked another creator, which said he’d answer all questions, but never has. We’ve ordered a Perfomance and will get in in the next few weeks, but just trying to find our overall reliability or any issues at all. Your help is greatly appreciated. Cheers

Back to your question. BYD Seal is a great car especially the Performance model. Mine is Dynamic. I have been driving my Seal over the last three months and everything is great except the ADAS. I just brought it back for my first 3 months complimentary service and they updated the software and now even the ADAS is a lot better. It's an amazing car. Is this your first EV?
Im waiting for the Seal U Suv or Song L to be released into Aisa market...
Seal U will be a great SUV, but hopefully, it's not a Plug-in Hybrid EV.
@@SkyPerspectiveonly thing I don't like about the Seal U is it's not as nicely thought out as the Seal. Would also have loved to purchase one because of the ground clearance but the interior is not as nice and it's not a ground up ev. The cabin is not as beautiful.
@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 yes I agree the Seal U is made into an SUV from the Seal. Is ground clearance that important in your country? After so long of using the Seal, ground clearance is never an issue for me.
@@SkyPerspective ground clearance is very important. Most people here drive high ground clearance cars. Just google potholes in Zimbabwe.
I googled it. OMG 😱 No wonder you are after an SUV with high ground clearance. Come to think of it, It's wise of you to go with higher ground clearance because this is an EV. Any physical damage to the under body means damage to the EV battery.
I am also driving a seal in Singapore and also bought the same carlinkit ai box that you have boight but there is a problem as the seal only got 1 data usb port i wanted to connect the byd mic and the carlinkit so do you think a usb hub will work?
Yes the Carlinkit only works with the BYD Seal USB A port, doesn't work with the USB C port. If you connect the carlinkit using Seal wired Apple Carplay using USB A, you should be able to talk to the Carlinkit through your BYD Seal microphone. I just tested it today, I can use Google Assistant on my Carlinkit and GBoard keyboard voice input on carlinkit without any issue.Why do you need a USB hub?
@@SkyPerspective that was because i have also bought a byd bluetooth mic. According to instructions it need to also connect usb port a. So i need a usb hub to plug in the mic and andriod ai box
@@34kvwong Oh I see. I understand now. Not sure if a USB Hub will work. Have you tried the USB A port at the back? Not sure if that will work. Just an idea.
@@SkyPerspective i just got my aibox today. If i plug in a usb hub it have lights but does not work. It must be directly plug into the usb a port than it will work. The rear usb i have also tried it was also charging port only no data connectivity. So i guess i have to toggle the usb cable when my daughter want to sing ktv.
Another idea, have you tried pairing the bluetooth microphone with the AI box? 😊
You still have the first generation Google Home device which came out around 10 years ago. As for cameras, which one do you recommend? I see that TP-Link has several models Cxx on Amazon. I have been using cameras made by Wyze but in my case they have been buggy and unreliable.
Hey @woofinu, good to hear from you again. Yes, my Google Home is still working so well, so why bother changing? Definitely getting all the value for my money. 😄C210 and C110 are affordable if we want lots of cameras around the house. I am installing the doorbell camera (amzn.to/48ZqVCs) now, and I am eyeing on the 2K security camera (amzn.to/43lBui8) to be added in the future. Links provided are affiliate links.
Wyze seems to be very popular in the US, it's not so popular in Australia.
@@SkyPerspective I bought a lot of devices made by Wyze because they were low-cost and innovative, but I think their reliability has dropped. I have had several that died after 1-2 years, and after a firmware update I have had a few that bricked or required a complete reset and restart. Nothing like your Google Home that lived for 10 years.
Hmm, looks like it's time to try out TP-Link Tapo cameras. Theirs is like indestructible. I still have my first C200 I bought like 5-6 years ago and it has been on my window sill in the sun every day, still going strong and very responsive every time I checked it. When we buy a security camera, we are actually buying into their software and their system. I used to use D-Link but their software department is just so disappointing.
@@SkyPerspective I am in no rush but my next camera would be something like the TP-Link C120. It has a Starlight sensor which yields a much sharper image and a built-in siren that can be set up to trigger when motion is detected.
@@woofinu The C120 looks like a versatile camera. After I add my Tapo doorbell, my next camera will be the C420, completely wireless and it can work together with the Tapo doorbell's Hub.
