    I want to ask about the height of installation of the doorbell or mounting bracket. Thanks to help & reply.

    Just in case anyone is interested, this device can not be used in Home Assistant, at least not as of writing this. Found this out the hard way, bought some Kasa outlets and they work great and were very easy to integrate into Home Assistant, saw some reviews for this doorbell and since TP-Link makes both the Tapo and Kasa devices I thought hey great we need one to replace an Arlo camera anyway and can add this into Home Assistant as well... boy was I all kinds of wrong, this doorbell camera (and the H200 hub) cannot be integrated into HA, yes I should have googled it first but the camera does work fine as is but just very disappointing with the lack of HA integration and I will NOT be buying anymore of their cameras anytime soon. This isn't a bash on the camera itself, if you aren't interested in HA use then this is a good doorbell camera.

    Thank you. This is a solid video/review. You essentially showed us real time set up and any quirks we might go through setting this up. I'm considering getting this as I was looking for the smart door sensors and hub to make them alarm if my doors get opened somehow at night (I live alone eep) but noticed they have a sale on the doorbell camera with the H200 hub and its a great deal too.
    I am just confused about how it is removed from its holder on your wall. Is it quick release? No tool needed? If so I can see why people are worried about it being stolen...
    Thnx again.

    Thanks for the video!.. I've had doorbells: Ring, Eufy, Arlo, and they all have horrible intercom latency, sometimes up to 2 secs. How is the intercom latency on this Tapo?

      Great video, if my internet router is on the first floor , would the camera still work? Reception doesn't normally reach all the way down to the ground floor , thank you

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  6 місяців тому

      @@Laura-re1ym I think this is where the hub might be very useful. The doorbell connects to the hub wirelessly. The hub can connect to the router either using a ethernet cable (wired) or wirelessly over WiFi. You might be able to position the hub some where the doorbell and the router can both reach wirelessly? Maybe some where near the stair case?
      Every house is different when it comes to WiFi reception. Hope this helps.

    Hi. How much does the light drain the battery? Does it come on at Dusk & Off @ Dawn or can you set a schedule?
    Thanks.

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  5 місяців тому +1

      No light doesn't drain much of the battery. Light only comes on when motion or person is detected at night, I don't think we can set a schedule for the light to come on at night if there are no motion.

    TP-Link loves batteries - this makes installation simple but then maintenance a pain, the more battery-powered devices you have. This device will have to be recharged monthly! :(
    I just wish that at the very least they didn't use a battery-pack so I could easily wire in a suitable DC adapter to the +/- contacts.
    Someone experienced please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing those extra pins on the pack are for transmitting data (such as charge level?) to the device? I'm not sure how I'd be able to replicate that functionality or whether I need to or if the device will continue to function without it.

      Heard that the battery is draining way too fast, can’t last until 180 days as advertised. Many said less than 3 to 7 days the battery will be fully used up. Hope Tapo can rectify the battery’s lifespan issues seriously

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  23 дні тому +1

      Mine lasted about 5 months. I charged it once sometime in August this year. It's not getting a lot of detections. Maybe about 5 to 10 activities each week.

    • @LoveIsContagious
      @LoveIsContagious 23 дні тому

      @@SkyPerspective so yours really can last about 5 to 6 mths (approx. 180 days) as advertised by Tapo. Most customers complained about the fast drainage of the battery and had to keep charging the battery very often in a week or 2.

    Just ordered one of these but now starting to think it’s a big too big. A badly applied sticker is also a bit of a shame. Biggest issue though is that all a thief needs is a paperclip…in the UK the anti-theft alarm is stopping nobody 😅

    Does the hub need to be near the doorbell? Or just as long as they are connected to the same network. I'm planning to get this doorbell but I'm worried that the hub might be too far away (indoors) while the doorbell is at the gate (roughly 100 meters). But both share the same network.
    Currently I've got the xiaomi doorbell but the chime doesn't sound because its too far away (433mhz instead of thru wifi)

    • @SkyPerspective
      @SkyPerspective  5 місяців тому +1

      Good question, I have never tested this out before. Hopefully someone who is using this doorbell with the same 100m gate set up can confirm if that will work.

    My subs to Amazon Ring bell finishes soon and I’m not prepare to pay the stupidly over inflated subscription increases and thought this looks like the friend I’m looking for except it doesn’t, so it appears, connects to my existing power supply to release me from the ridiculous chore of taking the battery out to recharge it.

    Say if someone rings the bell. We can hear what he says, but we can only reply via Quick preset messages. Is there anyway we can talk to him via our phone (i mean as soon as the visitor presses the doorbell and we get a notification on our phone)?
    I know we can make an independent call to the Door Bell via over phone.

    • @SkyPerspective
