The same issues I have I sent in for a replacement and rode replaced them w/new pair but after a while the same thing happened again. Great headphones 🎧 just way to cheaply made
Sorry to hear it happened twice. I'm still on my second pair. I love Rode products and I'm very gentle with this second set, hoping they'll last!
@@CSGPhotos thanks for the pin 📌
@LockOutMen I think it's important for #Rode to know that people are still having issues. I'd like to see a new model or a recall at this point.
@@CSGPhotos facts 150 bucks is too much for cheap product from a quality company like #rode
@@CSGPhotos btw new subscriber 👊
Such a shame I get a comment every couple of days from another user with broken cans on my video with the same issue. Honestly I don’t understand why rode is still selling these they are clearly flawed and need the plastic replacing with metal.
I agree!
Hello, report my problem to Rode and they have sent me a new unit, with Rode we are safe, excellent treatment and exquisite technical service, thanks Rode I only have good words for you, regards 😃👋👋❤
That's awesome! Same experience I had!
@@CSGPhotos ❤thanks to your video
@@CSGPhotos NTH 100 headphones are excellent
Mine has broken at the same point. How can we fix them?
I'm sorry to hear that. It's a pretty easy process to go on the Rode website and register the warranty.
@@CSGPhotos But they should recall the NTH-100 and release the NTH-101 , and fix all the issues, give us double thickness head padding , get the pads to be easier to replace and make it 170€-200€. They are worth that much. (and for some, release a balanced cable accessory option)
@@Narinjas I don't have an issue with the ear pad thickness. Why would you suggest doubling the thickness?
@@CSGPhotos not the ear pad, the head pad, that part that is on the top part of the headphone , the part on the head, that could do with being double thickness.
@@Narinjas Ahhh, I get it! Still, they are great headphones, minus the connection point that seems to fail regularly.
Thank you 🙏 dear Christopher for this video. What actually became of it? Did it take long? Did you have any trouble? Then I am happy not to have jumped on the Rode train.
I have a great alternative to offer. Even better sound and even better quality for almost the same price. Some people still remember AKG. One day after the company was liquidated and closed by Samsung, former employees founded the successor Austrian Audio near Vienna. I was very sceptical. As an old AKG headphone user, I was spoiled by their quality and sound. I am happy for the moment again. Quincy Jones used AKG for a long time. Maybe I made someone curious with that. Servus with greetings 🖖 from Bavaria
I got a new pair from Rode. I use them in my studio. However, since they don't travel well, I also have a pair of AKG K371's that I use on the road. I like to record ambient sounds and the AKG folks down nice and tight and fit perfectly in my travel kit.
Same thing happened to mine today (6 months after purchase). I've loved these headphones thus far but the RODE design team clearly failed by cheaping out on that vital locking component. 😠
Just submitted a service request and waiting to hear back from them. 😥
I'm sorry to hear that it is still happening
The only problem is the cable noise. If the cable touches anything you’ll hear it loud and clear in the ear cups.
I haven't had as much issue with the noise as I have with trying to not run over the cable with my office chair.
Thanks for the feedback, we'll pass this onto the team!
Ughhhh! So I had the same problem after about 2 months, they did send me a replacement, but now it's 4 months later and mine broke in the same exact spot again! I am sending them a message, but at this point I'm totally bummed. I do audio all day long and I did love them pretty well, but darn-it for that much I want them to work! It's a bummer. 😖😛 Somehow this video did make me feel a little better it wasn't just me 😆
I'm sorry yours broke a second time. I'll tell you what I think the issue is. There is no sideways flex in the headset. When we use headphones all day, we become accustomed to twisting the ear cup away from our head when we need to hear something in the ambient realm. I noticed this the other day when my wife came in my studio to tell me something. I started to twist the ear cup and realized that there is no give in that area. It puts way too much pressure on the attachment joint!
@@CSGPhotos Perhaps, but typically I just gently pull it off my ear if I'm trying to hear something, or slide it back slightly...but you are correct, I always uncover my right ear when I do that! Still though, it's a minor movement for the repeated crack! It feels good to commiserate at least 😁
Yoo.total awesome -see u around,friend~
Thanks! Looking forward to it!
I repaired them myself. They won't break anymore.
What did you do to repair them?
Happen the same to me, what Rode said?
I sent them back and they replaced them. I have a brand new pair now.
Thing is, I'm a tad scared to buy them because I'm not from the US, and they don't seem to have official representation here (Brasil)
@Bruno Louzada I'm confident that if anything happened, they will honor the warranty. However you matt want to look into what it would cost for shipping.
Hi, I saw that you got your new one. Is it better now? Did they make a revision or a new model/serial number?
They didn't change anything. They only sent me a new pair.
@@CSGPhotos Did the new pair survived for longer? (Or feels like it will survive for a longer time?)
@@showdodoc in using them every day. I will admit that I'm being very gentle with them.
So .. any updates?
Yessir, Lord Snot! I'll be posting an update soon!
Sir i also suffered with the same problem after 3 months of using this product ,will this defect be include in warranty?
It was covered in my warranty. I suppose it depends on where the headphones were purchased. But, if you were able to register your purchase on the Rode website, then I would imagine that your headphones would be covered under the warranty as well.
Well now we know how they got it to retail at $150😂
Haha! Right. They are still amazing, groundbreaking headphones though.
